If GCA does go Division 2 next year the real question is will many of you on this board make it through life without being able to complain about GCA playing public schools?

forrest at Trousdale this Friday. Don't take too much away from it though. We don't play to win. Looks as though we are using these scrimmages for a lot of playing time for the 2nd string with key positions hurt or in baseball

Thanks for your input and like you said, the west is loaded! WC run game will surprise a lot of teams this year with Davis, Birchette, Harris, Ruddle and a few more backs ready to tote the ball and don't forget Rice, he's dangerous when he tucks it and runs. good luck to you guys as well. We should have a good run this year and I think we'll be a lot better than the preseason picks indicate. We will be a top ten team by the end of the season. I've told some of the boys to make some noise this year because we may get bumped to 2a next year

What do you think the odds are for Wayne Co and Trousdsle to meet up this year in the playoffs? I been wanting to see this matchup for awhile

trousdale and Ncs will be one and two in our region although I don't know which one will come out on top. Wayne and Huntingdon will be the top in your region and I think it will be in that order. Odds pretty good to meet up in the 2nd or 3rd round. We are still light with seniors this year with a lot of jr and sophomores. I'm pretty sure we will have the best secondary in our region with 3 seniors and one Jr. All returning starters but Wayne has a special qb in RIce and if you have a run game to keep our secondary honest then it will be tough for us to keep it close against you. Wayne is my pick to win state this year but it will be the toughest road on one side of the bracket I have ever seen in 1a with about six teams with a legit shot. Dresden, union city, Wayne, Huntingdon, Ncs, Trousdale.

Trousdale got demolished vs. DeKalb. I believe the score was 35-7 DeKalb for varsity without Jennings.

Scrimmage against Dekalb county Friday. I think Dekalb still has the qb with a rocket arm. Should be a good test for our corners. Secondary and running back should be our strongest positions. We have depth in those positions that most 1a teams don't have. Kid from hunters lane may help us this year. All four running backs are fast. One senior and three juniors. Two run 4.5-4.6 range and shifty. the other two a tad slower but will look to run you over. Overall we will be Jr. and sophomore heavy with some seniors mixed in. I'm guessing here but I'm thinking 7 seniors, 16 juniors, and 14 sophomores. We will be a very good team for the next three years for sure

He's talking about Clarksville Academy, and he's right. The Robinson kid will be the starter and from what I'm told, he should be. If I'm not mistaken, he started half the year last season and held his own as a freshman.

Alcoa moves forward with Drug testing. Not saying this is a good thing or a bad thing. I expected Alcoa to follow Maryville's lead so I wasn't surprised when I saw this in the paper yesterday.

i just figured all schools were doing this already. Trousdale has been drug testing all sports athletes for several years now

Are you joking? I looked in my Murphy Fair book and this Smith mans team is a 6a school. I garuntee you he needs to find another bigger school to practice against his boys. You think im joking but im not.

The reason why there are three classes is this is the way you get the CPA's, Lipscomb's, Goodpasture, Knox Catholic, and CAK to be a part of it. They don't want to be in the same class as the big privates football-wise

why not? The publics have been dealing with the recruiting of big privates for 30 years. Maybe it's time they all get a dose of their own medicine.

Thats a positive most schools don't have. Shouldn't there be a seperate division for that type of privilege?

trousdale at Dekalb first Friday of May around 5 pm. Forest at trousdale 2nd Friday of May around 5pm. Need to see our team speed and trio of backs. All three backs around 4.5 speed and one squating 425. Only lost one lineman and one receiver off last years team and a few key additions came back to football this year. Our starting all region qb from last year is still only 14 years old. He will be a star by the time he's a senior.

#6 isn't bad after losing 25 seniors. The talent and football IQ is there. This isn't a team to sleep on.

25 seniors in 1a is crazy. We have maybe 40 players total grades 9-12. The west bracket in 1a is sooooooo stout this year. I'm picking peabody 3rd in your region this year but would love for your team to prove me wrong

I know that he always lists the defending champion as #1 in his poll, but there's no way that NCS is #1 with all that they lose.

he may know something we don't. I know they have a qb they acquired from good pasture that will take over the reigns. Maybe he knows of others that are on the way. Just putting that out there. They do have some good athletes that were waiting for their turn when this last class graduated as well.

dont know the whole story yet I had to look up Haywood county to see where it is. It's a big school that's a good distance from trousdale. They are living in trousdale county so it's legit. We sure are glad to have him. It will be different for him. Haywood has around 20-25 on their freshman team. We may have 40-45 players on our high school team
