Does East Tennessee run away with it this year again. My predictions of the finals and darkhorse. I don't know too much about West Tennessee softball.

A- Eagleville / Huntland - rematch of the two of the best pitchers in the state- Darkhorse is Gordonsville

AA- Alcoa- returns most everyone / Forrest always strong not sure what they have - Darkhorse -Summertown

AAA- Gibbs- returns most everyone, valuable experience last year being mostly underclassman / Lincoln Co. giving the benefit with Lexington losing key players - Darkhorse is Halls with talented soph. pitching duo

AAAA- Farragut-lost starters but have depth and key starters back / Dobyns Bennett - best pitching staff in the state as Juniors - Darkhorse is Maryville/Morristown West

    Who you got?

Forrest had 1 senior outfielder last year so should be a contender. AA has 4-5 teams that could win it all.

I'll stay with my pick of Alcoa. They are not the favorite by any means but I do believe they have enough offense to score with anyone and pretty deep in the circle. Their youth is the only concern in the circle.

Great pick and congrats to Alcoa!

  3. Until someone knocks off the champs (Summertown 2021 1A and Forrest 2021 2A) I’d put my money on them. Will know alot more after Friday night!

Bledsoe Co. looks good also with an impressive record.

Summertown hits with anybody but pitching average at best - not many shutouts like last several years

Good hitting can compensate average pitching for sure! Strength of schedule plays a huge roll this time of year as well. These teams that are battle tested tend to get the best end results (Summertown, Forrest etc.)

Looks like Sequatchie should have saved some of those runs up when they were trying to embarrass York and Jackson Co.

Seems like this happens often to Sequatchie Co. I know they have had good teams the past few years, but seem to exit early.

  6. Really not seeing a sure bet 2A state champ. I would agree S-Town is the  favorite at this point. Whoever gets hot at the right time.

Did Sequatchie Co. get put out by Monterey? Huge upset if so.

  7. Regardless of the coaching staff these kids have worked hard and have done what it takes to be region champs! I don't care how tough your region is, that is an accomplishment! The ER game had no energy from the players to the crowd. It felt like a scrimmage game. ER has athletes and should be a much better team than what they are IMHO.

I think Forrest comes out with a chip on the shoulder this week and gets the win and hopefully momentum for a playoff run!

  8. As this thread has totally fell of the Forrest vs MC game I'll put my 2 cents in for what its worth. Most of us don't agree with the generals post but sometimes he makes good points. We have had some good coaches in the past that have decided to leave for whatever reason. Some of them are hometown guys. When you get offered more money and you don't have to teach, anyone in their right mind is gonna jump on that offer. One issue is these coaches step down, but still teach at Forrest. This takes away from other potential coaches as most coaches teach the same subjects. So, whether it be lions club or the school board its and issue.

Anyhow, I feel bad for whoever draws MC come playoff time!

Summertown beat both teams in AA championship game

Forrest and Summertown split early in the year. Looking forward to S-Town moving up to 2A next season. Always a good game when those teams match up. Lots of history between these storied programs!

  10. Having seen both play I would give S-town the slight advantage over Eagleville. Eagleville has some young studs for sure but, top to bottom S-town is little better and has the experience which is a big plus come tournament time.
