Probably won't be much football talk in this entire thread. For almost the last year we habe hashed out the X's & O's, Jimmys & Joes. I look for Cb10 to be in rare form in the middle of the week. If Cornersville wins. Some folks may want to change their screen name lol

I don’t think it will matter win or loose, CB10 will have something to say and make folks question their life decisions... he’ll have the last word, and it will probably be pretty dang funny.

  2. All smack talking aside, it’s going to be a great game and atmosphere for sure. Whoever wins is going to have a really tough game the following week at Lake Co. (most likely) as well.  It’s no secret nobody in Huntingdon knew who Cornersville was this time last year. I can promise you they do now, and they have the Mustangs full attention. It was amazing how in one year, in the preseason program, almost every player said the team they wanted to beat the most was Cornersville. They’ll get their chance Friday night!

Probably basketball, better watch out or you may be playing round ball soon as well, lord knows y’all need the practice at that sport considering WC put y’all out last year, but back to football better strap it up because Cville is going to hit Huntington every single play, gonna be a good game.

You’re right! Huntingdon hasn’t been hit all year. If you watch the film, every time they snap the ball the other team just lays down! Craziest thing I’ve ever seen. Has a team even recorded a tackle against us this year?

I just heard that the TSSAA is coming in on Monday or Tuesday to inspect Huntingdons new turf field... supposedly the field is illegal to play on and they have considered moving this game to Cornersville. Has anyone else heard this?

something about these new fields are supposed to get inspected, and Huntingdon didn’t get theirs inspected.....

I heard the same thing. I also heard they did a recount on the enrollment numbers and have to forfeit all their games and move to 5A. Something about a multiplier if you have turf?

Lake county has reasons. I can name two right off top. 2009 lc at huntingdon. Game well in hand huntingdon 56-0 in the final min of the game lake co scores. Attempts the extra point huntingdon player comes from the edge. Lowers his head and absolutely crushes the holder that is still on a knee in holding position and breaks his ankle. The kid that happen to be the qb. Fast forward to 2010. Can’t remember at what point in the game. Close game. Lc wins that game 50-49 but on a play blown dead, huntingdon wraps up lc qb picks him up and body slams him. Which happens to be the same kid that got hit before, and broke his ankle.

I never want to see a kid get hurt in any way but at the end of the day they’re a bunch of kids playing a hard hitting sport. Huntingdon has had their share of injuries well after the game is out of hand and well after the whistle.

Bottom line it wasn’t by design. Or called in by the fans. It’s a bunch of emotional kids playing football.

  6. They’re all jealous..... Huntingdon is hated by everyone for absolutely no reason. We’ve never intentionally ran a score up, classier than most, every opposing teams fans are treated like neighbors....

All you hear is “they have turf” blah blah, “they shouldn’t be in 1A” blah blah....

The school didn’t buy the turf!  Believe it or not the community supports the school!

You know Huntingdon only counts half of their school when sending enrollment numbers into the TSSAA???

I heard they only count a quarter of their actual enrollment. I hope the stangs play well, I hear it’s a big recruiting night.... all the best Jr. High talent from across the Region is going to be there! Hopefully we pick up some commitments!

  8. I don’t know how good it is for conditioning but I’m glad the Huntingdon  coaches are pulling starters early in games when they really don’t have to be in there. It’s not as impressive on the stat sheet but all In all we’re pretty healthy for this time of year. Is this Huntingdon team better than last years? Time will tell.  Hope we get past MP Friday night and see how we stack up against Cornersville, assuming they take care of business...

  9. Now that we got that one out of the way, I hope our Neighbors to the North win out. Best of luck the rest of the season Rebs. I'm thankful our starters had to play the second half, you could definitely tell.... and hopefully that will be the last time the temps are in the 90's at kickoff...

While I appreciate the #5 spot for Huntingdon, I wouldn't necessarily put them above anybody from the East just yet.... We've got some pretty big question marks, and we haven't even played a real game.
