  1. Congrats to WC.

    Coulda, Shoulda, whatever...

Wayne County fielded the better squad last night.

Good luck the west of the way!

My only problem going back and reading this thread, that it is very apparent that a lot of the poster's here calling the Huntingdon fan base a bunch of sore looser crybaby's, and really relinquishing in Huntingdon's defeat, really don't know many people from Huntingdon... and that's sad.  There's a lot of hometown pride in Huntingdon, and it's a great place to live and raise a family.

We support our kids and our school, and are proud of each and every one of those kids that suit up on Friday night.  The exact same way each and every poster on this board does.  We beat our chest and have all the confidence in the world in the kids we've watched grow up.  I don't think any poster from Huntingdon needs to apologize for having hometown and school pride.

In saying that, all the high school fans from surrounding areas live it up, enjoy it... Huntingdon lost last night, feel good about that... Huntingdon will be just fine, I promise.  The ole' injury bug bites hard sometimes, but it is what it is... it's the nature of the beast in 1A football...

  2. There's been lots of talk on here throughout the year about starters not getting to play in the second half but when you look at it every good team that is expected to be in it when it comes playoff time are all in the same boat as far as being up big at the half times and jv playing the second half. If there's a positive to it I wonder how many injuries would these teams have if their starters had played all four qtrs in every game. It's gotta help only playing half as many qtrs.

Definitely, statistically it cuts the chance of injury in half.  I'm not really worried about the conditioning standpoint.  Yes, it will affect these kids some, but my question is how will they handle it mentally... how will they play when it comes down to the wire, and they are tested.

I'm confident Huntingdon will answer the call, but I won't be 100% convinced until it actually happens.  I know all these kids have heart, and play for each other.  It's been said 100 times on here, but we've got several kids that can take one to the house at any time, but when they don't have the rock in their hand they are giving 100% to pick up blocks for their teammates.

I know Wayne County is the same way.  They're a very well coached team, and great program.  Anybody, in Huntingdon, that thinks otherwise has a very short term memory.  I already had an annual day scheduled for the championship game in Cookville in 2011.  We all know how that worked out.

No way we can base 2015 off of 2011, but great programs may have some down years, but it doesn't last long.  This is going to be a good one!

On the plus side, both teams' JV squads have got a lot of quality reps under their belt this year...

  3. I agree and if you look at the region teams that each have played you will find very similar results so us WC fans are kinda wondering the same thing. But at the same time who's to say that these two teams ain't better than we all think?

They very well may be.  I can't wait for this game.  A lot of questions will be answered for both teams.  I just hope both teams to come out injury free.

  4. Like horse said a few pages back, there is no way to judge this game.  I'm born and raised blue and gold, so I'm obviously pretty confident Huntingdon comes out of with a W, but playing in this region and the out of region games we've played, heck, I honestly don't really know how good we really are.  I mean, Huntingdon has pretty much destroyed everybody and made defenses look silly.  Is that because Huntingdon is that good, or is it because all of the teams we've played are that bad?  I hope it's because Huntingdon is that good, but we're really not going to know until Friday night.  I'm looking forward to a good game.
