Great game Centennial, and good luck this week against Indy. HC Defense played well enough to win the game. If before the game you told me that HC would hold CHS to 8 first downs and 34 yards rushing for the game, I would have liked HC's chances. But CHS defense tightened when needed and HC didn't have enough diversity on offense to take advantage of great field position. (because of Centennial's D)

Still a great season for HC Big Red (they lost to 2 teams - both of which are still playing). I'm proud to be a Big Red fan.

Good luck to Centennial this week - I think it will be an entirely different game this time vs Indy.

My opinion is the CHS vs Indy winner brings home the gold ball.

Saw highlights on unapproved website and the 2 TD passes for CHS looks like the QB just threw the ball up for grabs on both occasions

Surprised at outcome , 2 weeks earlier Indy rolled CHS 49-6

RHS had some issues the 1st 4 games of the year of defense where they game up 21 pts per game

The schedule was very weak this year as Franklin and Brentwood are rebuilding

MJ took them to OT and other 3 wins were 2X Overton and Mcgavock ( metro teams )

Hester is one of the best coaches around so he will have team ready

Rowland and Rappe are the two kids that will cause trouble

Wish we could see the privates play MHS in playoffs to settle whom is the best

In Illinois ISHA my team lost Saturday night in semi's to a private 24-22

Would I prefer the private schools keep playoffs amongst themselves you bet for selfish reasons for the team I cheer for but deep down I know they are playing the best ( you want a tough conference see Chicago Catholic league )

Anyways team we lost to private school o line 280 , 290 , 275 260 and 265

I'd be interested to see Wilco's economical and population growth over that time compared to Sumner's. I think there's a correlation between that and what I'm saying. I understand talent is cyclical, but the growth in Wilco is faster than any other county in the state.

 

Gallatin is one of the most storied programs in the midstate, but you guys are struggling as of late (I hope this ends soon). Hendersonville is a great team year in and year out, but how many gold balls? Beech has won titles and is a great program. Station Camp... not so much.

 

Look at how much Wilco football has grown in 15 years. Hard to imagine that county not being one of, if not the best county in Tennessee most years...

 

Look at what Ravenwood, Centennial, and Indy have done since 2010. I know there's not a ton of gold balls in the county, but they're just reloading. Once a system is in place, once a culture is in place, once kids that put the jersey on know what that jersey means... It takes a lot to mess that up.

Unless your Maryville most programs will have up and down years

What sets a team apart is consistency

( to me that's making playoffs year in and year out) and then you hope that in that span you have a special group that makes it to the semis or finals

I'm a grown man and don't need comforting after a loss. I hope you're a high school kid. HC is a very successful program and will continue to be for many years.

Why should we post when no Wilco team played you in years past let alone playoffs

Bad calls went both ways tonight.. I'll say this, Hillsboro had plenty of opportunities to win this game.. They played Indy tougher than anyone has all year.. Lack of a kicker came back to haunt the Burros in this game.

 

Bunch is as good of a HS QB as I've seen.. Indy should win it all.. I felt this was the state title game..

Bunch is the real deal and had this offense down pat , yes he has weapons but the kid can throw...

Give Boro credit I said that if Indy jumped out early on them thru would go metro school and lose interest fast - credit them and coach Clayton for being tough and having a great year

Tough game for the Burros, Indy did a great job with play calling in the 1st half using screens and the FB in the passing game. Very impressed with Bunch's poise and ability to go through reads. Once again tonight is a great example of how important special teams are as you move on in the playoffs. Indy received two short fields to score in the first half.

Saw some from Indy nation that the refs were horrible and called many uncalled penalties of IHS ?

Hillsboro has the athletes to match up with Indy on the outside. Has Indy played any team get that can press them the entire game? You have some of the finest Metro athletes with a Williamson Co. Coaching staff.

Ok Yall independence would not beat maryville or any of the top 4 teams from d2... They have never seen the skill that those teams have overall as a team... I'll even venture to say that they might not even beat Whitehaven with all of their athletes that they have.. I'm not saying they are not a solid team, but #1 in the state idk about that

Indy has 3 D1 recruits so they do have athletes no not on par with BA - MHS never has near the athletes when they play a Oakland or BHS but we all know whom has the full trophy case , the boys of MHS

Not to take anything away from Centennial, they are a great team and they played well and won the game. The Ravenwood QB suffered an ankle sprain early in that game and it looked to have affected his game. I think it was six INT's that night....

 

As far as being special, you can only play who they put in front of you. But their district won 6 out of 8 in the first round against the Memphis district, which is pretty impressive. The only team that played Ravenwood close in the district was MJ early in the season.

Also, with high school kids, so many things can factor into performance. How much is a 16/17 year old kid thrown off their game because of a long bus ride, bad weather, girlfriend problems, etc. That's why just getting to this point, for any team, is such a great accomplishment. Coaching staff has a lot of energy this week. The attitude of revenge is in the air in Henry County. It will be a different team from when they played earlier.

You're discrediting athletes, juniors down who went undefeated as middle schoolers and in regular season play as Freshman with the only loss was to Riverdale in a post season bowl. If you were a true Bear fan you would know these stats and realize that it's the leadership that starts a football team and these kids in their circles shake their heads at our leaders character. You my friend have just downed young men who have played together since they were 5 and a few more that have come to be accepted in the bear nation. Let's start from where change needs be. Start with an offensive coordinator that can call effective plays and will use athletes to their abilities and not restrict them due to their size and height and make derogatory comments about them when you failed personally on the professional level. Second, the leadership. I think our leader is an outstanding family man farther than that NOPE. Lastly, the AD needs to go. If you continually are chained to the good Ole boy regime your never going to succeed. Sorry sir but you have just discredited a lot of young men that have more character than you ever will.
