Well we can see you never ran a program before or ever managed one either. Cleveland wanted a piece of Baylor and Baylor refused to come to their duals. After that Baylor made some feeble attempt to schedule them AFTER a schedule was already made and in which there was a very low chance of a match being able to be made. So again we have another know nothing troll out here running his mouth! So how about we put that Baylor wanted no part of Cleveland since they refused to come to the Cleveland duals! So maybe it should be Baylor runs from Cleveland since you want to put a false narrative out there about it all!

also as far as Cleveland built, again I am not a Cleveland fan, as a Soddy wrestler I actually really disliked them and Bradley lol. But maybe instead it should be Cleveland Built and Baylor Bought!  I mean how many borders does ole Baylor or even McCallie have that are athletes % wise compared to just regular ole academic students? Also looking at all these wrestling clubs which is the LIFE blood of a wrestling program I rarely if ever see a Tornado or Baylor red raider wrestling club kid in the tournaments. And most all kids that are stud wrestlers wrestled kids club to be as good as they are, I am not sure I have seen a ton of  studs that started at Baylor or McCallie as a middle schooler having never wrestled before.

I'm not a know nothing troll like some of you always call some one you disagree with. I have in no way made an attempt to degrade someone else's opinion on any thread as you continue to do Cobrakid8.

I know for a fact Baylor attempted to wrestle Cleveland and received no response. I heard with my own ears "we want Baylor" from the Cleveland section. I again ask, what it could have been. The chant occured twice, I believe the first time was around the 145 match and again after the 152 pound match. If I'm mistaken, my ask simply is what was the chant?

Regardless of a difference of opinion, no need to say I'm running my mouth and say I'm a troll.

At no point did anyone from Cleveland chant we want Baylor.

What was the chant that sounded like "We Want Baylor" that occurred twice during two separate matches towards the end of the dual with Wilson Central? Not sure what else the chant could be?

  3. This thread seams to have been created to address a chant that multiple people heard by the Cleveland cheerleaders/section. "We want Baylor."

Bosken addressed the invitation to the Cleveland duals and admits to Baylor attempting to schedule a dual that Cleveland didn't have time in there schedule for. Regardless of public or private, don't chant "we want Baylor" if you really don't want to wrestle them for whatever excuse you want to make.

As far as #Made in Cleveland... the kids that are no longer there have left the program for various reasons and all seem to be better wrestlers today than they were at Cleveland. I would agree with the change to #Started at Cleveland, but these athletes made themself. Wrestling takes too much hard work and dedication to give credit to anyone or anything other than the wrestler for their success. Coaches and parents help along the way, but it's the wrestler who puts in the work.

    Best at what?

They are separated for a reason.

Baylor has an All Star team, so they won the division that is allowed to recruit.

Cleveland won the division that has to develop their own talent, along with Pigeon Forge.

     Congrats to all 3 teams.

So you think Cleveland doesn't recruit?Does Baylor or any other program in TN other than Cleveland have a paid youth coach? No one wants to talk about the advantages that Cleveland has, they only point out that the private schools recruit. Just remember when you are pointing fingers you have at least four pointing back at you....

  5. So you are saying that now that the dual season is over, Cleveland wants to wrestle Baylor, but they couldn't find a spot in there schedule to fit the dual in during the season?

To be the best you have to wrestle the best. Baylor has been ranked #1 all season. If I were the #2 team, I would fit the #1 team into my schedule....

  6. I thought that I heard the Cleveland section chant something that sounded like we want Baylor.  I thought that Cleveland should have to beat Christian Brothers or even McCallie to earn that chance. Baylor has not backed down from any invitation this year and they took 3 losses this year. They lost to the current #10 Delbarton 34-25, #34 St Joseph's 29-7 and #1 Blair 55-4.

  7. Van Ness wrestled just fine against Delbartons 132 in the dual prior to the dual with Baylor.  Blair chose to send Coliaocco out to wrestle 132 and not Van Ness.

Why can't we as supporters of wrestling in TN, not support each other on the national stage. Why does it have to be an excuse that Baylor won one match against Blair? Why can't you just congratulate the the team on competing with some of the best teams in the country today?

Let me say that it was a great day of wrestling at Blair. Very proud of Baylor for getting the invitation and representing TN as the best team in TN this year!

  8. Wilson Central does not dodge competition. They took a loss on Thursday at Father Ryan, then came to pat Walsh and wrestled the best teams available. Taking losses to Cleveland, Baylor and McCallie. No one can say that Wilson Central dodges competition! I'm sure it's not the start to the season that they want, but they are making the team better by wrestling the best competition available.

  9. For the transfer rules to change, we need to fully understand what is allowed in every county. Some counties will offer open enrollment from what I understand. (If you live in the county you may attend any school in that county.)  If not open enrollment then a student may choose to take a class such as Food Prep or Cooking that one school may offer that the zoned school may not offer. The zoned principal signs to release the student and the recieving principal signs to accept them. Out of county tuition may still be paid to a public school if a student doesn't live and that county or even the state. (GA).  It is bigger than just transfer students.

I understand the need to create a balance and not stack teams, but at some point we need to ask "what is the best for that kid?"  This thread and others are very heavy on what is best for the TEAM or even the coach?

  10.  TN had Trey Bates, Noah Horst & Brayden Palmer compete and GA/Baylor had Garrison Dendy & David Harper.

    Palmer wins 130

    Bates finishes 3rd at 112

    Harper finishes 2nd at 189

This tournament offers great competition from all over the country. Lake Highland Prep from FL had several wrestlers and this was the first year that CA had wrestlers entered. Put this one on your schedule next year!

  13. I think we can all agree that it is not stalling in the Sweeney/Rippy match.  The question is will anything at all be done about it?  The refs this year have decided way too many of these matches. If my performance at my job was this bad, I would not have the job.  The other ref actually disagreed with the take down that won this match and the ref that called stalling awarded the take down anyway....  I don't think in this case that the ref wanted Sweeney to win because he wrested for Cleveland.  This particular ref has made numerous bad calls against Beech, especially in the last 2 years.

  14. Martin only beat Cole Fort 2-1 in Duals, will get him again in the second round. Then he will need to get past the winner of Pond/December to get in the finals.

Would love to see a Martin/Horst finals here, but wouldn't be surprised if one doesn't make though.

  15. My picks for region results: 106:  Bates 113:  Borders 120:  Palmer 126:  Horst 132:  Belcher 138:  Pergande 145:  Gonzalez 152:  Rippy 160: Quinn 170: Hanson 182:  Noga 195:  Walling 220:  Miller HWT: Kramer

Some good matches for 2nd and 3rd in 106 with Clemons, Woener, Fetters

138 could be an upset as Castillo is wrestling really well.

195 went went Walling to avenge his loss earlier in the year.

Any other region want to wrestle a dual against this line up?  We have a few back ups that could fill in too!  120- Isbell  145- Stone 152- Weist 195- Williams

    Region 6 Dual team!!!
