This is a board about HIGH SCHOOL BASKETBALL!!!!

He's been doing it for a LONG time at the Jr High level..... VERY SUCCESSFUL programs that he sent on to Pickett Co HS..... he's turned down other HS jobs in the past.....

He also has one of the top summer programs in the southeast.... helping MULTIPLE kids get college scholarships....

He does it for all the right reasons..... success will follow him wherever he goes

You've not watched UC boys basketball the last 4 years then....

York loses a total of 6 seniors.... only 3 played last year....

Derwin Wright interviews for the job on Tuesday.... leads you to believe that he thinks they're gonna be pretty good...

Jodi, No way you can justify this... On one hand you complain because people won't play Cookeville (aka Baxter) and then in the same breath you try to justify Lamar HIMSELF deciding this game wouldn't happen....

Director of Schools (Jones AND Bush) has even said they should've played

Lamar has said the 1 schoolboard member told him not to play... You think that ANY schoolboard member tells Lamar what to do with his program??????

The schedules were set and sent to the coaches TWO MONTHS ago!!!! If he didn't wanna take the chance to play? Bow out BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT STARTS!!!! York was denied an opportunity to get better against "the goat" as he's been called....

They played in 95 and NOTHING out of the way happened

This is a forfeit and everyone knows it

Ok I have read for two days about how this went down.  Then I found out today what REALLY went down.   Clarkrange let the "director" know they wouldn't play York WAY before the tournament bracket was released.   They were not happy that York was even in the tournament when they had been coming there for several years.  So he knew about it and knew they wouldn't play.  There was also a discussion about the forfeit after the WC/Clarkrange game.  There should have been a backup plan in case this situation happened  but I don't think they planned on both of them ending in the losers bracket.  

Now after that has been said, let us all remember that this is not the ONLY team in the UC that refuses to play a team in the same county as them.   And nobody has ever been shot in that matchup!  There are also no board of education provisions against this game.   You guys act like this is the first time this has ever happened.  NOPE it happens every single year in one county.  They play football but not basketball.   Talk about that.   #DontBeeScared  

Not the case at all.... Check with Michael Dodgen and Eric Mitchell, tournament directors. The only arrangement was they would not play in the first round... Somebody is pulling your chain and telling you what you wanna hear so you wouold get on here and run your mouth...

You wanna play Baxter? Fine with us....

Not true at all.... their was NO murder lololol....the shooting happened in 65-66 after the game and the teams played after that for several years.... the stoppage of play happened when an allegation of cheating by the scoreboard operator happened in the early 70's....

No reason at all for these teams not to play....

Ridiculous or dodging a loss.... call it what you want...

The York team that played for 3 qtrs at Rockwood, two at Bledsoe, 3 at Monterey, 3 at Oneida can play with anyone.... The team that showed up vs Gibbs and Stone and Clay can get rolled by anyone.... who knows who will show up.... the most Jeckyll and Hyde team EVER!!!!! Prayers to #10 from Rockwood after a gruesome injury last Friday.... his team rallied for him... South Greene could have their hands full or could cake walk...

York looks like they've mailed it in.... no fight at all.... questionable injuries... offensive identity is non existent... defense is prone to the big play.... this one could get ugly...

Things will definitely have to change up on the mountain for this one to be close.... York is playing uninspired football to say the least.... the pride of defending the mountain is gone lately....

2 losses- ranked Bledsoe Co and Ranked Monterey... both close...

Penalties and lack of physicality have been their downfall... Will that continue?
