How does meigs county in terms of physical size match up against Westview?

Smallest team in the tournament guaranteed! Seen them last year at Johnson City. Couldn't believe how good they were to be so small.

It's more of a half court trapping defense than a regular sit back 2-3. This is the first year they have played it all season. In years passed, they usually play man to man

Ok, just watched a couple of games and all I seen was zone. If the athletes are there like you say and they are so good, turn them loose. Don't know many colleges looking for kids that can't defend. Good luck to you.

Westview starts 3 seniors, 1 junior, and 1 stud sophomore and then first one off the bench is a freshman

Then why, if they are so good do they play a 2-3 zone? Just asking. If they have so much talent year after year.

The matchup we all want to see is SS vs UPPERMAN. Let’s all stay healthy and maybe just maybe it will happen. Westview will have a say in that though. They will be a tough out as always.

So will Macon, you might be the only one that wants to see that game.

Last year Macon was the best team i saw play in the entire state. I saw Stone and Bradley Central play a couple of times last year too. It wasn't even close really. Of course that was last year.

You surely don't think Macon could have played with Bradley? That would be RIDICULOUS!!!!!

Our first Single A state game is in the books: Summertown 3, Meigs Co. 0.

Despite being undefeated, Meigs County only gets past 10 in one set. Hope the girls are still having fun, sounds like it was a rough game.

Hey congratulations, hope they win and probably will. Yep they are having a really good time thanks for asking. I had 3 key takeaways from the game:

    1. Summertown= really good

    2. Summertown fans=really good

    3. Rockstar89= MORON!! I bet you've never even seen them play. Should go watch, alot better than watching scores from your parents basement lolol.

No offense meant at all, but real talk here. I would be surprised if a team with that little experience and only playing a District schedule will have much luck against the defending state champs who haven’t lost a lick since last year. That said, there is a reason they play the games. Any given night...

LOLOL!!! No club players, no personal trainers,  no hours of gruelling practice or driving hours to play tournaments. Just a great group of athletic kids just playing volleyball for FUN. They play for themselves, they play for their school not for their parents, AAU coach, or to sign D1 scholarships LOL.  No pressure on this bunch whatsoever but as for right now they are perfect and that's how this season will be remembered "PERFECT". This is a prime example of playing for fun, what all sports should be. So good luck to all but remember enjoy the moment I promise you this bunch will.

Not saying I believe it. I haven’t seen her play yet. But that’s what someone really close to the Central girls basketball program has told me. This person has also told me that UTC has already reached out to her.

Well if you've never seen it or you don't believe it then why say it. Going off  just hear say!! Are you a TRUMP supporter too. I guess next UConn is wanting her. Hasn't even played a high school game yet. Really??

No I am sure Cleveland’s coach knew nothing about this and I am positive had no contact with the player. And with that being said I am 100% sure that he will do the honorable thing for his current players and not play this kid til next year. Trust the Process and that philosophy is working.

Tony Williams has no desire to return to Rhea County.  He is working to build a monster in Bradley County and believes it will happen very soon.

The only monster in Bradley is Bradley. Always have been always will be. WV, EH and CHS can't keep their best players or for that matter any surrounding school that wants their child to be a part of a winning program. Just the way it is. Good luck.

  11. UC, been waiting in you time chime in. I guess you bet on the Patriots to. Bandwagon!!!! Meigs might very well lose but there is 1 thing for sure CC or UH won't beat them. As for softball season Meigs does it pretty well to. 3 rings in a row.

  12. Hey Repo, are you high? Trust me when I say this. Dekald and Macon have never been pressed like their about to be. Let Macon overlook Meigs or DeKalb not show up ready play we'll see who's practicing softball. Oh by the way Meigs does softball pretty well to. 3 in a row .So at least have some common sense if you're gonna get in here and make ridiculous comments.

I've heard Cleveland girls coach has been running his mouth too much on the radio. He got his team put on probation last year for illegal practice with middle school girls by the TSSAA. Only thing he has ever won was a few middle school games at Rhea county. Ask the Rhea county administration, like Jesse messimer what they think about him!!! Couple of key kids are looking to move to walker valley or bradley at xmas break that he doesn't even know about.

As mentioned in previous posts. payers going from one school to another within their county happens, but when a coach from one county ( or an AAu handler) spends more time at a different county's junior high schools and does in fact get a player to come to their school,  that is , while not illegal,  pretty unethical.  I am glad , however, that it turned out great for the young lady who did what she and her family thought was best for her.  It has happened and as recently as last year  another player from Tellico was encouraged  to do the same thing.  That's why we don't schedule Central.

As for last year Tellico played most of the post season without their second leading scorer until she cut a cast off to play in the Unaka game where she was, as expected, not near 100 percent.

As mentioned in earlier posts Tellico and Meigs played for years but not in recent years  this happens all the time and no one has ever accused anyone of ducking someone else. Must be a touchy subject for some.

My original post was meant to give Tellico the same pr that other schools with similar records were getting for no real reason as it pertains to state rankings in class A. This early in the season (7 games) really no one has played that tough a schedule so early rankings are meaningless. That will change for some I realize.  I guess we should be penalized for playing in a weak district. Would that make you happy?  I will continue to post about Tellico Basketball in a positive way and would hope you would simply do the same for your school without turning to sniping about someone else. Stay positive and have  a great season!

Ok well again no one is penalizing anyone for playing weak district games but the non district schedule is ridiculously weak. CMON. AS for AAU coaches spending time at schools. Listen it happens everyday. So I guess Tellico has never allowed a kid transfer in and play a sport. Sounds like sour grapes to me. Let it go!!! Good night get over it and let them play.

  15. So you lost a player so what. Does that mean you hide from now on. That just don't make sense. I'm pretty sure there are kids at every school that aren't zoned for that school. It happens every day. It's funny though if 30 wins over bad teams make you feel better so be it but that 1 loss every year ends your season tells me that your coach isn't preparing your team for post season. I'm sure you're sub-state opponents appreciate it.

  16. Just a question, why don't Tellico play McMinn Central or Meigs? Local teams, would be great revenue for both schools and would be very competitive games. Tellico has a good team but the teams listed above aren't very good with a combined record of 10-20 they aren't getting tested nightly. That's what got them last year. Soft scheduling until sectionals to get Ws didn't prepare them for post play. Maybe the best team that has ever been at Tellico with the freshman they have but not challenging the team is a disservice the coach is doing to them. Just a real shame the Central and Meigs games don't get played. Think of the fans, both are really close both would be great games. Other sports get the matchup. Why not let them play?????

Chattanooga Christian just flat out beat Meigs, vs Kingston Meigs played 9 game in 6 days and I would say Rogers pitched most of them do to the fact Meigs back up pitcher was hurt, vs Tellico they had a double header Meigs won first game 10-0 second game was mostly JV, I don’t see Meigs getting pummeled, but anything can happen.

Rogers did not pitch in the Chattanooga Christian game.

I don't think both McMinn Central and Meigs Co will be there.  The loser between these two in the Region 3AA championship game will have to play their substate game on the road at Upperman or Macon Co.

Dont forget Mcminn Central already beat Cumberland this year and Meigs has beat Central so who knows. Im sure Cumberland and South Greene didnt expect to wake up this morning with the season over.
