  1. Give credit to PC, they have jumped on their opponents early and have put them away. Just as I said, Summertown has been struggling offensively, that's why they lost to FH and beat Loretto late. That's what I meant. True, if PC plays like they have been, they most likely will win, again, that's why I said Summertown can "potentially" slow down their offense. But thanks for restating what I had already said. Should be a good one!

No doubt Perry County is playing very well, out scoring their district/region opponents by something like 222-126. The question is can they continue to play at that level. They have the pressure of playing in front of their home crowd (yes, playing at home is nice but also comes with more pressure to win) and playing the team that has beat them twice this year. Summertown with their length, has the team to "potentially" slow down that PC offensive explosion that they have been on. PC hasn't been tested at all since the district tourney started, how will they react to a tight game? Summertown has been struggling offensively lately, well until the 2nd half of the Hampshire game where they score something like 55 and it mostly came from the post, which is not the scouting report on Summertown. Should be an outstanding game! Would not want to be watching any other game come Monday night.

  3. Region semi's.. Who you got?

    Frank Hughes vs Columbia Academy

    Summertown vs Perry County

Heard the big girl from CA got hurt during game vs Loretto. Has anyone heard if she will be back for Monday's game? That could change things. Can Summertown's defense slow down the PC offense who has playing lights out?

  4. Actually, no your not. Summertown finished 5-5 and finishes 4 in the district and should play Perry County in the first round of district tourney. Collinwood with the loss, finished 6-4 in the district, which puts them in a tie with Wayne County that finished very strong. They are tied for 2nd.

    Loretto 9-1

    Collinwood 6-4

    Waynce County 6-4

    Summertown 5-5

    Perry County 4-6

    Frank Hughes 0-10

  5. Exactly. I know Houston Co cannot touch either of those two, home or away. Forrest does play Summertown good, but in a game of that magnitude at Summertown, one would have to give them (SHS)

I wouldn't say that Houston County couldn't touch either PC or Summertown. Those 2 big posts players can be a handful. Yes, Summertown beat them both times but beating a team the 3rd time is never easy.

  6. Not sure why it is such a big deal. If i was from Summertown or any other district team i'd rather go to Linden than waynesboro. You have more room to sit and plus better viewing areas.

True, i do not like the bleachers on the visitors side.

    But,

    1. I hate the drive to PC

    2. Would someone rather play PC at their place or WC at their place?

  7. Now today Summertown has changed it to PC. Not sure what's going on with that. I was under the impression one school could not host both.

Both Summertown coaches had told me two weeks ago that the district and region were in Perry County.

  8.

"""Summertown will not beat Community. But if Summertown is playing at home for Substate they will not be playing Community, most likely. Very likely that 2 teams from 9A make state tournament."""

Summertown played Community a good game, close until midway through the 4th, lost by 10.. It's not a shoe in for "2 teams from 9A" to make the state tournament. I figure Summertown or Perry County will host a Substate and both teams are tough at home.

  9. 1 round of district games left..Loretto has locked up the regular season title and prepares to defend the district crown. Wayne County is playing well at the right time. Can they parlay that into knocking off Loretto in the season finale? Perry County seems to be struggling to put together quantity games at this point. PC's focus seems to be on everything going on in the gym except the game sometimes. Summertown is like Tennessee weather, never known what your gonna get from day to day. They have been within striking distance of Loretto but hasn't been able to turn that corner yet. Collinwood looks like they may hold on to that 2nd spot. Which means a potential rematch with WC in the semi finals, should be fun to watch. Frank Hughes is a sleeper, do not overlook them or you might find your self going home earlier than expected.

  10. I would t think Summertown would be playing Community at Summertown. Not sure there is another team in region 5 that would win a substate level game at Summertown this year. There could be, I just don't see it.

"If" Summertown is fortunate enough to host a Substate game, I think it would be safe to say it will NOT be Community. More than likely Community will be hosting a home Substate game. I am sure Summertown hopes to be hosting and Communtiy also be hosting. I am sure Summertown would love to take a chance in playing any other team for a chance to go to the glass house.

  11. Give anything for Perry County to win but Summertown would still have to lose to Collinwood at home. But it's gonna be hard tomorrow night down in the 'Boro for Perr County to pull up in my opinion a upset.

I agree, PC has its hands full tomorrow night going to WC. WC has back to back road, district wins and has momentum going their way down the stretch. Lace them up tight, should go 12 rounds tomorrow night!

  12. District 12A Standings

    1.) Summertown Lady Eagles (7-1)

2.) Perry County Lady Vikings (6-2)

    3.) Loretto Lady Mustangs (5-3)

4.) Frank Hughes Lady Lions (3-5)

5.) Wayne County Lady 'Cats (3-5)

    6.) Collinwood Trojanettes (0-8)

Summertown avenges an earlier loss to FH tonight.

Wayne County beat Collinwood. We should know more after Friday's games about how the final positions may shape up.

    Match ups; Who you got?

    Loretto vs Summertown

    Wayne Co. vs Perry Co.

    Frank Hughes vs Collinwood

    My picks:

    Summertown

    PC

    Frank Hughes

  13. District 12A Standings

    1.) Loretto Mustangs (8-0)

    2.) Collinwood Trojans (5-3)

    3.) Summertown Eagles (4-4)

    4.) Wayne Co. Wildcats (4-4)

    5.) Perry Co. Vikings (3-5)

    6.) Clifton Lions (0-8)

Collinwood has seemed to be in the drivers seat to finish 2nd in the district. Then, what had happen, Wayne County comes up with a big road win and beats Collinwood. So, it seems the district standings 2-5 will come down to the last 2 nights of district play.

Who you got for Friday night?

    Loretto vs Summertown

    Wayne Co. vs Perry County

    Collinwood vs Frank Hughes

  14. Perry County plays Clifton and Wayne County we already played Collinwood twice. If Perry County beats Wayne County and Clifton they'll be 5-5 and if Summertown beats Clifton and loses to Loretto and Collinwood they will be 4-6 and if Wayne County loses to Collinwood, Perry County, and Loretto they'll be 3-7 but it's going to be tough for Perry County on Friday night in Waynesboro. Always tough to win down there. They will have their point guard and third leading scorer back so they will have everyone back but who knows, they're in a funk that they seem like they can't get out of.

WC will have their point guard back? Who is that

  15. Mt Pleasant could shock someone from 12

    .

I think the only team from district 11A that could give the 12A a loss is Columbia Academy. With the BIG post and good guards they have, they could cause a problem.

I don't think Mt. Pleasant is good enough to beat any of the top 4 12A teams in the post season. Just not enough weapons at this point.

The 2nd place team in the 11A is Cornersville, who has lost to (currently 3rd in 12A) Loretto by 50 and 20.

But, come post season, records don't matter! Win or go home.
