  1. MC likes to play a 2-3 so if Tyner can speed them up and get fast breaks, not allowing MC to set up on D, they'll definitely have an advantage from that aspect. MC also likes to put some slower, bigger boys out on the court in the post, sometimes two at a time. There's no way they're running up and down the floor without getting tired of Tyner is pushing the pace. But MC's guards doesn't mind playing fast paced either so it'll be a fun game to watch.

  2. CM by 3... last game at Tech is a different result without the technical I believe... CM has lost two games by 2 to MC, gotta be hungry... this is the furthest they've ever been and they're rolling

Upperman by 7... livingston will make it close, a 1-2 possession ball game going into the 4th then Upperman will start layin the law

  3. Just looked back at the preseason rankings made by everyone... they're laughable some of them. A lot of us including myself had smith at 1. Most had CM down at like 7. They're called predictions for a reason I guess. Upperman/Macon championship is gonna be a good one as well as the consolation game between Livingston/CM tomorrow.

  4. Should have stuck the layup but still an incredibly crappy call. I didn't see any chin up just trying to protect himself from players underneath, there was nothing to showboat he missed the dunk. I'd have to see the tape to prove he pulled himself up.

I didn't see the game, I'm just repeating what I heard from the radio broadcast.

  5. Don't put the excuse of losing on the call. It's correct if he actually did a chin up on the rim. Make the layup go up for and don't show boat. However with 3 mins left it's farfetched to say they would have won without MC getting this call.

I understand this and I'm not saying CM would've for sure won but if he just lays it in, CM is up 4, not down 2. That's a huge difference when it's that tight.

  6. Central lost 62-60. With about 3 min left CM was up 2 then big man missed dunk, did a chin up on rim, and got a technical. Macon made both free throws and made a layup when they got the ball back. That was the difference I believe. It was tied however with like 25 seconds to go and Macon hit a shot to up 2 with 4 seconds. CM couldn't tie.

  7. This is paralysis by analysis.

It's not like MC has been playing bad basketball as of late. The layoff could have helped Macon instead of hurt them, and I don't see playing under the "bright lights" being a problem for MC. They have played in this gym before, who cares if they haven't been there in a year? The game is about buckets. MC by 15+

    Fair enough. We'll see tonight.

  8. Wow bold prediction. I know MC had a close one at CM but MC beat them by 15 at home. It will interesting game to watch.

It is bold but CM is coming off a 15 point win, they're riding high, and already have a game played on that court. Macon has had a week off and hasn't played on that court yet.

  9. Central/Macon should be a good one tonight. It'll be close ball game IMO. It was a two point difference when central played them at home. And big kid dominated last night with 17 & 8 getting any shot he wanted. Whichever team wins, it'll be by 5 or less. I'll take Central by 2.

  10. That's news to me. That's stupid though IMO. The first and second seed automatically get to skip two games of the tournament and only have to play one game to the get to the ship? I understand rewarding the first seed but giving first AND second two game byes it absurd. It also eliminates the chances of a bigger upset early on. Terrible way to do it. I liked last year's format where first seed got a one game bye and then 7/8 played to get in to the tournament. That's a fair reward to first seed and an extra incentive to not be 7/8. Also, this new format would eliminate the whole "one win and you're in region tournament" thing. Is it just the final 4 teams in the tournament? So 1 and 2 are automatically in region? Ridiculous. Let the boys play.

  11. IF, and that's a big if, York were to beat upperman AND CM were to lose to Smith, then the tie between CM and York wouldn't matter as they'd play each other in the first round regardless of seeding. They'd both be the 4-5 seed.

  12. So...

    Macon killed Upperman

Dekalb beat Smith by 26. I don't even know what to think anymore

Livingston beat York. This now puts York below Livingston in district seeding, no more tie for 3rd involving York (so far)

Central beat Cannon. This is now the most district wins in a season for CM. Previous high was 6 set last year with a win over Macon & York, then 2 against both Cannon and Dekalb. Previous high before that was 1 against York. Still one more game to play this season.

Down to the final regular season district games for 8AA as we know it today (teams move this summer)

    CM at Smith

    Livingston at Cannon

    Upperman at York

    Macon at Dekalb

    Current standings:

    1. Macon 13-0 (when was the last undefeated team in the district?)

    2. Upperman 11-2

    3. Livingston 7-6

CM 7-6 (series split 1-1, what's the next determinant? A coin flip? Assuming both teams have the same outcome next game)

    5. York 6-7

    6. Smith 4-9

    7. Dekalb 3-10

    8. Cannon 1-12

Also there was an insane game White House 116 against community 103. Clearly no defense. Have we had a 8AA game reach 100 in recent years?

  13. Current standings:

    1. Macon 12-0

    2. Upperman 11-1 (Upperman's only loss in district was by 1 point against Macon, redemption game this week)

    3. Livingston 6-6

CM 6-6 (split 1-1 with both Livingston & York)

York 6-6 (York lost to livingston by 1 the first time, second game against each other this week)

    6. Smith 4-8

    7. Dekalb 2-10

    8. Cannon 1-11

    Upcoming games:

    Upperman at Macon (!!)

    York at Livingston (!!)

    Cannon at CM

    Smith at Dekalb
