  1. So I have been hospitalized once again and was released yesterday.  People I'm warning you don't ever get old!  Anyway I just saw here that a new coach was hired at Clinton and our Central coach has left?  Tell me about this coach from Kentucky...one thing I read is that he is the first black coach the school has ever had.  Is this true?  If so I think that is not only amazing that it's never happened before but I'm truly happy that a town with this sort of history with the Clinton 12 has finally taken this step forward.  I don't say this because I'm black myself, I say this because I think maybe that's what that town needs.  Anyways...tell me about him and I'll hopefully stay healthy enough to see the responses!

This means they stayed in HOUSE for the Hire.

No.  What I'm saying is that the 2 top candidates are both coordinators.  One is an offensive coordinator and also a HC at one time.  One is a defensive coordinator for his respective school.  Whichever one get the HC spot the other gets his coordinator spot whether it be offense or defense.  That's what was being talked about today.

  3. Hearing this morning that an announcement is coming shortly.  Someone has been offered and they are simply finalizing things.  I could be wrong though.  Just what I was told this morning.  I was also told that there are 2 candidates and either way Clinton will end up with both of them.  One as HC and one as a coordinator.

  4. The way I understand it there has been 5 interviewed and one brought back for a 2nd interview.  I'll withhold the name for obvious reasons and honestly because I have never heard this name before.  I'm told it would be a home run though if it's true.  If you get a 2nd interview you are the guy or at least top 2.  That's how it was when I was an A.D. when I made a hire.

Also,  the only coach I'm told "was disloyal" was the defensive coordinator he hired in the off season.  I was told from a source very close to the program that he would always under mind Mckamey and purposely try and make him look bad on the practice field to the players and other coaches.  Apparently he did the same to parents as well.  I was told that parents actually were fed up with his antics and the way he treated not only Mckamey but the players a well.  I know he was let go after the season before Mckamey resigned and any cancer like that should stay away from a football team all together.  I'm told he actually applied for the job.  Not only does that make him a cancer but a cancer that doesn't know when to go away after treatment.  My 2 cents

I texted my friend because I couldn't remember his name.  Boatman he said.  So if I'm Clinton I ask that boat to keep on sailing.  Apparently he's been with 3 teams in 3 years?  Always a reason for that. Add another cent for me.

Absolutely, I should have qualified that with a HUGE all caps IF...  I don't know any of the staff etc.  IF you run into hurdles like that, a new coach needs to be able to "clean house."  Often times if the existing staff doesn't have an inside hire, it is tough for the next coach as well, since at least one of them will put their hat in the ring.

They'll need to clean house and open some slots for him to hire a quality staff as well.  AC has an army of coaches... Hard to compete in 5A when all the staff is disloyal OR teaching jobs are eaten up by non-coaches that were from the previous regime, likely working against the new hire.

What makes you think the entire staff is "disloyal"?  That's a bold assumption.  Also I was told that a lot of his staff either teaches at another school or they are non faculty coaches.  Lastly, just coming on here and asking for men to lose their jobs, jobs that provide for their families, is a cowards way of fixing this situation.  That's just my opinion though.

Let's hear the story then.  You can't just bring it up and say nothing about it....

Something about how AC always ribs Clinton about how many years in a row they beat them. They get shirts made says "X years of Dragon tears" or something like that my friend rlayed to me.   I was told it's 19 or 20 now.  So I feel bad but at the same time, Greeneville kind of does the same to them and you reap what you sow.  Maybe the Devil's should get that shirt made?  But again...  I'm funning around and mean when I say that was another good season.

No Disrespect to you sir just a big exclamation for out kids. If we wanted to be exactly correct it’s technically 6 dating back to like 06

I understand. I was just told the story behind it.  In a way I feel bad for saying it but in a way I think it's justified.

If you watched the Alcoa and Maryville game that should of told you. They have a great wealth of talent still coming from the pipeline which is good. I still feel their a top 4 team in the state, you just never know what is on the other side until you play. Biggest thing I miss about the old coach is the risk he took sometimes on a few trick plays that took everyone by surprise but otherwise pretty much the same. Miss the line coach more than the head coach in my opinion. The head coach is a very smart young man that everyone likes very well and I don't see the program slipping any unless something out of his control were to happen. My advise to the coach is never turn a deaf ear to your old man because his wisdom will never steer you wrong.

  11. I haven't been keeping up with Maryville these past few years and sorry if this is way off topic but how different (in anyone's opinion) is this team now that they have had new leadership for the past few years?  Is the culture still the same?  Still getting the same talent?  Sorry if off topic but I was curious.

  12. I think Clinton will be ok.  But I do think their HC needs to get some of that chaos under control.  That's the second time I'm hearing about him and his DC going at it.  Hard to be an effective HC when you have too much going on trying to control your coordinator.  It doesn't matter how good a coordinator or a coach is, if it interferes with the HC 's ability to run his football team it's a definite cancer. Then your HC and entire team is handcuffed.  I think I could tell which one was the DC and if I'm right then I can see why they have fought in the past.  If it is who I think it is his body language was terrible.  You could definitely see when he disagreed with any call the HC was making and if you can read lips the words coming from him we're not very kind.  But like I said I think Clinton will be ok.  From what I know about the HC is that he has the ability to make it happen he just needs the support.  He has a lot of decisions coming up in my opinion.

  13. I have to say that I don't think Clinton played that bad but didn't play very well either.  My Godson plays for Powell and I got to see him play tonight and that was a wonderful thing.  I hung out across the way more near to the Clinton side and I have to say that the team and the staff seem to be extremely chaotic.  Coaches yelling obscenities at players, players giving coaches the business.  I even saw multiple times coaches yelling at coaches!  I saw their head coach screaming with a distinct look on his face that you usually see on a man that can't seem to find answers.  I feel bad for him.  I really do.  Folks were telling me about his past tonight and most of it I knew.  Anyways...that's my take.  I'm glad there were no injuries on both sides from what I know.  I hope Clinton bounces back.  I really do.
