  1. Lexington has a very strong and FAST offense and their Keeper is first class.  You are right... we had our chances and the center ref gave us every single, slightest foul.    I hope Lexington beats Sheffield cause the Tigers deserve a run to State.  And I am glad we get another chance at JCS!  I just wish we could play JCS at D-burg!!!!  Our stadium and field is one of our assets and can be very intimidating.  oh well....the team who wants it the most will win.

I hope they beat Sheffield also.  Home field advantage does play a big factor but I know dyersburg will play hard since it's lose and go home and win and go to state.  Too bad I can't make either game!!

  2. Crazy things going on in West Tennessee!! Madison Academic loses to Sheffield.  Jackson Christian beats Sheffield. Lexington beats Dyersburg 4-1.  I'm ready to see how Lexington does against Sheffield.  I went and watched the game last night at Lexington and Dyersburg got a lot of opportunities to score and missed but Lexington was very strong.  Also JCS beat Dyersburg 2-1 earlier in the season off a penalty that should have been flopping in my opinion. Interesting day ahead tomorrow for West Tennessee!

Second round games will be at Dyersburg Middle School and the championship at Dyersburg High School.

Thanks for posting the bracket for us to see! I feel like Crockett and Obion will be a great game, as Obion beat Crockett 1-0 earlier in the season.  Anything can happen.. It all depends on who shows up and plays the hardest

  5. BIG games tomorrow night for Dyersburg and South Gibson!  If Dyersburg loses and South Gibson wins South Gibson will clinch the district regular season.  Dyersburg is 7 goals ahead of them on goal difference.  Who knows how the game will go for Dyersburg since they are playing away on Crockett's field..  South gibson plays McKenzie.

  6. Thanks for the score updates Noah! You're the real deal!  I was at the Crockett-South gibson game last night and it was a great one! South Gibson made a great come back! They were clearly the better team and i'm glad they won.  Crockett County's poor field conditions made a big difference..

  7. Trust me the city isn't going to do a thing about the soccer field. Most of the things we have now (catch nets, fences, sound system) are a product of fund raising and some money from the coach's pocket.

Sorry if I struck a nerve with my reply, but it upsets me when people critize the field because of all the hardwork our coach puts into making it nice, and the players that put in work to play good games on it and build a soccer culture in Medina. For years I've watched them bust their butts on it and then people discredit evrtything cause they don't like the field. I know that isn't what you were trying to do, so I apologize.

No hard feelings. Good luck tonight

Yeah didn't mean to upset you.  I hope your soccer program continues to improve.  Best of luck to South Gibson!

  8. yeah so no other probs with the refs other than the wires across the field....some refs let the play go on and some refs blow the whistle and then do a drop ball???  not happy with either....the home team knows to avoid the wires but visiting team are at a disadvantage... hence, I do not think this field should ever be used in ANY district play..... This field is an anomaly and  therefore our refs are not sure and divided as how to handle it...some let play continue  and some stop play and do a "drop ball"    this..... to me, is  not an acceptable decision either way..This  field should not  be a field where any recordable play happens....

I agree with you.  This field in my opinion shouldn't be allowed to play on.  The power lines are a major disadvantage.  A goalie's kick down the field or even a pass or clear in the air are more than likely gonna touch the power lines at least once a game.  That could be the difference in a goal or not.  Not every school has money for turf fields, but no soccer field should be played on with power lines clearly in the way of play.
