  1. Only people related to Endicott try and compare the two players.  No one has said one negative thing on here about any child that plays the game so don't try and insinuate anyone has.  Key is the best player in this area on the men's side Levy on the women's side.  Everything you've stated about if Clay would be the best team is merely your opinion nothing more.  Clay's team is above average without Key but with him it puts them as the best in my opinion.  The statement was made teams out of 7A couldn't compete against 8AA when in fact they not only compete they have a winning record against them if you take it back over a 10 year period.  On the other side of the bracket the teams out of 8AA would have a losing record on the girls side and some couldn't even begin to come within 50 points of the Jackson County and Clarkrange teams from 2000-2015.  The only team in 8AA that would step up and compete against these two teams is LA and they gave as good as they got most years. The rest wouldn't even sign up to play them,  outside of Upperman depending on how good their teams were they would drop them or add them. ALL FACTS!  Now go ahead and speculate all you want my work is done here.

    Have fun.

  2. What do you have against Key? If a player is a good as Key is then 75% of the offense would run through them but there are none around here that are and every coach that has faced this young man in 8AA will tell you the same thing!  What is the difference playing MC, LA and Upperman vs MC at Clarkrange and at Pickett County?  At Pickett County is a tougher place to play than at Upperman or LA year in and year out i promise you that!  I've been around this area watching ball games in everyone of these gyms for over 25 years now and there is no difference between these two districts over that span of time.  Thats on both the girls and the boys sides.  There are several girls teams in 8AA that wouldn't have stood a chance against the teams in 7A over the recent history and that's been a proven fact on the floor.  Same with the boys, its a toss up as to which district is better year in and year out.

I wasn't aware we were discussing girls basketball. I have nothing against Key he is a great player. Who has said anywhere 7A can't compete? All I said was I do not agree night in and night out I do not think they would be the best team in 8AA. According to Coach T Clay is the only boys team in 7A with a winning district record. They lost to the 8AA 4th place team. They lost to 4-4 Jackson County. Don't get me wrong Clay is a very good team with the best player in the area. The difference is that PC is 4-4 and Clarkrange is 2-7 in there district. I wish them all the best not sure why were discussing 7A and Key on the 8AA board?

  3. I've watched all the teams mentioned in this thread play and i can tell you without a doubt Clay County is the best team in these two districts.  As for Key and Endicott, its not even close.  Like i said Endicott is a nice player but so are many others in this area.  Key is a once in a generation type of player and has no equals in the Upper Cumberland.

I too have seen both of these two play and yes very different players and at least 75% of Clays offense runs through Key. I do not agree Clay is the best team. I would love to see them play MC on Monday, LA on Tuesday and Upperman on Friday. I also think they would struggle with Central Magnet. That I just my opinion but appears only a few on here have opinions that count. I guess the real deal will be where they are in a year. Once in a generation player has to be a can't miss at the next level.

  4. Some of you wow! This team beat that team. I have to go back through a few pages here but one of you recently was calling someone an idiot for referencing this team beat that team and so on. Does Key play any other sports? Is he just a year around basketball player? He has signed with Indiana State. Has he officially been excepted? Application process returned NCAA clearing house is all good or does he have classes this semester he needs? I assume since no one answered Key and Endicott have not played against each other?

  5. You ask who else does that Tyreke Key Clay Co 38 points 9.6 rebounds 5 steals 5 assists shooting 72% from the field 52% from 3 point line average 18 shoots per game. Endicott couldn't come close to Key unless he was bringing him a towel and water.

Have they ever played against each other?

  6. Agree to disagree. I just think to have the size he does he doesn't dominate. Tigers beat Upperman again, in other news, water is wet.

Ok answer me a question? What more should he be doing. I was able to get some info on him tonight 22 points 12 rebounds 3 blocks and 3 assist per game. Averaging 14 shots per game on the season. On a team that has 2 to 4 players a game in double figures with 3 averaging double figure points on the season. He doesn't play on a team where he takes 30 shots a game. He is shooting over 65% from the floor. Who else around here does that? Had he chose to play basketball at the next level he would need at least 30 more pounds.

  7. The real District MVP showed up when it was winning time.

Please explain further. I would assume your talking about 5 for MC as he is the most difficult to defend on that team. I still don't see him doubled or tripled or changing other team game plans.

  8. I will say this MC has struggled to score against CM. I would think MC averages upper 60's to 70 points per game. Against CM they scores 43 & 54. I didn't see either game but that would support some difficulty scoring against them. Tech is not an easy gym to shoot in and score would tend to be lower and this to me would favor CM. I say MC by 5.

  9. Hey it can always be worse. I saw on twitter this morning in Michigan a high school game a fan was on the floor during a time out having a discussion with the officials and one of the referee pushed him. They officals then ran off the floor and call the game. I have no idea of the content of the discussion or why the fan was on the floor in front of scorers table.

  10. DO NOT LIST ANY NAMES!!!!!!!!!

Are refs being consistent throughout they association, with calls, being able to talk to them, and not making the game about themselves

From what I've seen I do not think so. I will say I've probably not seen near as many game as some on here have but some like the spot light to much. I've seen coaches try to talk to them and they just walk away. Calls verses no calls are terrible and they appear to hold some player to a different standard.

  11. Like VF said I was able to find some of the district awards on the Macon county FB and Upperman twitter pages. I didn't see the Macon girls information.

  12. It's an upper Cumberland issue 100% to many men and women wearing the stripes that have major egos and cannot leave them at there job site or in the locker room before they leave to come onto the gym floor that night to do a job which is govern the rules that the National Federatin. Not changing rules or calling how they feel during the game. It's a shame that with the quality of basketball in this area that the professionalism of the officials is not up to that standard.

Did you ever hit that on the head. The officiating in the Upper Cumberland is as bad as I've ever seen. The way they will single out a player and make themselves front and center is terrible. The calls and no calls. I saw two officials that do high school games working a middle school game where a player was lying on the floor and another play stomped him in the chest and no call was made. The level of ability and desire to be front and center is terrible.

  13. When do you consider a kid to be successful in regards to athletics? More so a kid that receives a scholarship or walk on status to college. Is it just receiving the opportunity? Is it taking advantage of the opportunity by getting an education while there? Very few will move on and play past college. What if they don't make it for whatever reason and come home? I had this conversation recently and wanted to bring it here for discussion. I realize success of any kid other than your own is not ours to judge. It's just a question.

  14. Good call. Rumor has it MC's shot chart from last night raised the global temperature by 10 degrees. It was never even a game. 48 points may not win every game, but 87 will produce the beatdown you witnessed last night. Why does Endicott not score every other possession? I feel like he should try and take over more.

I saw the first game at UHS. Wow what a difference MC shot the lights out. I wonder myself why UHS doesn't go to Endicott more. When they went to him he scored. I bet he didn't shoot 10-12 times last night. Way to much dribbling and turnovers because of it. No matter the way MC played last night not sure any area team could have beat them.

  15. I would like to see the Clay GP game. GP has played a couple of quality teams JP III and they lost to Whites Creek. Who I would say is a team Clay hasn't seen anything like. I would expect the GP and Clay game to be a game worth watching.

  16. Wow what a game. Easley the most physical game I've seen this year. Keeping in mind I've only seen 4 or 5 regular season games. Macon was not going to let Endicott beat them they doubled and tripled him most of the game. He still had 16 to 20 and maybe that many rebounds. One for sure and maybe two of the Macon big's fouled out 53 & 34. Both teams had some early foul issues with players having 2 fouls in the 1st half.

Macon shot it very well in the 1st half and better than average for the game. It was an exciting back and forth game. You must make foul shots in close games. I hope I can make the next game between them. Congrats Macon.
