  1. Here's what you have to know about a Coach Blade team - he puts all his top big athletic speed guys on offense (linemen & skill players) and will not let them play on defense. He's an aggressive play caller and loves the big play. (Too much sometimes)The interception play right before halftime was the turning point in the game. I would have liked to see him run it with only 1:18 left before halftime but that's just not his nature and was a big reason Indy was 29-0 to that point. Actually Coach Blade had the perfect play called against their defense and if Hines throws the ball on time to Guidry he scores a touchdown no question about it and Indy has all the momentum going into the second half with a running clock and essentially taking Hardin and their running game out of the equation for a little bit. The other part of that play was the Interception return and the hustle play by Murphy on the tackle/strip of the ball recovered by Indy. It would have been a big swing of emotion for both teams if it was ruled a fumble. Refs determined he was down before ball came out and it was difficult to argue either way after watching the play a few times on film since it was a bang bang play but great effort all around and the type of play you would expect to see in a championship game. Next thing you know Farragut scores on the last play of the Half and they have all the momentum.

The reason Farragut won this game is the difference in coaching philosophy. Coach Blade wants to outscore you with his offense and hold on with a younger undermanned defense. Coach Courtney puts his best 11 players on the field at all times on offense and defense and that won him the ballgame. Coach Courtney clearly has the recipe to beating Coach Blade now that he is 4-1 all time against him at both Oak Ridge & Indy. Coach Blade needs to re-evaluate how he uses his talent if he wants another Golden Ball especially since Indy will be moving up to 6A next season.

I can't argue Blade throwing it before the half either IndyNation

If you look at it at that time Hines was hot and they were having it easy passing on them so I find no fault

I truly feel for Hines - kid had a great year and was a good leader

  2. Have to give major props to Hines

Here is a kid that threw 6 picks and as reported by Kraeger and other in the media he didn't dodge reporters in interview room - answered all questions and took the blame -

Yes the kid lost confidence and threw 6 int's but have to respect him for being a man

*******Overall if you would have told me Indy would have been playing for the Gold Ball before the season I would have laughed at you as they had so many that graduated

With the 2 UT commits returning along with 1,000 rusher Henderson , a 6'2 QB with a cannon of an arm taking over Indy will reload

^^^^^^^^“This is a special group," Blade said. "We’re undersized, we’re young in a lot of our positions. It started with replacing nine guys and they’ve come so far in fourteen games it’s an incredible accomplishment. We really kind of exceeded our expectations.

  3. In the 2nd half, Farragut had three down lineman and 1 LB in the box, why are you not running the football every play? My answer is because Blade is too arrogant and stubborn. He is the reason for the 2nd half meltdown, not taking anything away from Farragut because their coaches made an adjustment and Blade refused to counter.

Your right he was schooled tonight in coaching

Still tough however when 6 INTs are thrown and if I recall all 6 were either way overthrown or just thrown up for grabs

  4. Well once this game turned physical, Farragut absolutely owned Independence. What a turnaround.

    It's tough to call that

Yes FHS o line and #1 man handled Indy front 7

But still will say that INT and FHS score before the half was the turning point

Then throw in Hines losing confidence and it was game over and let #1 be a man amongst boys

Like I said can't blame Blade for going for the kill with the pass trying to make it 42-7 as they were having their way passing the ball ðŸˆ

But colossal melt down and Blade was outcoached

  5. When your up 35-7, you have to run the ball. Indy has been tempting fate the last 3 Weeks!

Well the dagger was INT before the half

Can't blame Blade passing before the half they were owning the DB's up until them

Will say after that 2nd INT I saw it coming

Seen it with the CR game where Hines lost confidence

But Trenches you did see Blade attempt to run some when he had Guidry and Henderson both lined up in backfield

But overall outcoached big time in 2nd half
