  1. With forrest struggles as of late, and if those two boys are still injured it's going to be a long night. I guarantee the last two teams forrest has not seen the team that played the other 9 games. If that team shows up I take forrest by 3tds. They will fire some quick points, Meigs will play from behind early. Forrest as of recent though, could be in for a long night. I'm not making a prediction though. I assume it will be a lower scoring game. Good luck Friday rockets! And safe travels to Meigs! It's a haul.

I'm not saying the two players that have missed a few games with injuries aren't difference makers on the field because I haven't seen them play but 3 TDs? I don't see that happening. Meigs defense is pretty good and they will run the ball down your throat. JC at times had 9 in the box and couldn't stop the run, over 400 yards. I don't know who wins this game but I do know the facts. 1. Meigs beat JC by 35 and done whatever they wanted all night. 2. JC beat Forest by a score with Forest not having their playmakers. That is a difference of let's say 27. If those 2 players can swing it by 48 points I have got to see them play!!! And I want autographs!

  2. This should be a good game to watch. I think it could very easily go either way but i'll go with Meigs since they have home field advantage. Also since some people think Boyd may have trouble scoring. Meigs defense has been pretty good with the exception of the Marion game but they also had 2 of their best defensive players out that game.

  3. How is Meigs secondary, this will determine a lot.  Chargers do a great job at giving QB time to throw.  They seen some success with the passing game this year.  No doubt Meigs is always physical so run game will be tough for the Chargers.  Defensively Central has done a pretty good job of creating turnovers.  I don't know what Meigs has so I can't speak to it.  Hope it is a good one as always.  NO RAIN this year!!!!!!  Also remember Central had so many chances last year and turned the ball over.

The secondary is pretty good, not sure how many interceptions they have but I know of 5 or 6. I know they gave up a long TD on a halfback pass last week according to the DPA  but that's all so far this year. This game comes down to who stops the running game in my opinion. Meigs  can run the ball with the two senior backs but they don't have much of a passing game with the freshman QB but he can run the ball also. As for the Chargers I know they can run the ball also with Long and some of the other guys. Defense wins the game for somebody, Who? your guess is as good as mine

  4. I saw Meigs last night at Silverdale. I came away very impressed with the young QB Swafford. He's going to be a good one. If MC can get some speed on the outside and rush up and in at him before he gets moving they might keep him in check. He's got a few receivers to throw to and makes good choices going down field or tucking and running. And he's deceptively quick. Now I haven't seen MC but read they have a pretty good large back. Silverdale moved the ball with what I'm guessing are smaller and slower kids but turned it over way to much to give themselves a chance. This game could go right down to the last extra point. That doesn't help Meigs. From what I saw they haven't got a good Point after kicker. If MC does get upfield in the Swafford kid they better have very disciplined middles cause he can cut under you and pick his way through pretty good also. I'm going with MC in a tight one with an extra point miss the difference. Not seeing MC I'm guessing 28 to 26. Good luck to both. Should be a good game to watch.

Meigs has same kicker they had last year and won 21-7 so I really don't think that will make a difference. I don't think MC will stop number 1 or 23. Meigs defense in my opinion is better than MC
  5. Maybe this guy should just take over the program! Seems that (from an outsider looking in) the past few years Meigs staff has improved the program by leaps and bounds. The freshman QB moves the ball. The backs are speedsters! There's a reason some coach and others just talk about it!!!

Don't coach anymore so all I can do is talk about it, that's why I get on here. My kinfolk doesn't even get on the field this year, I just love football and love to break down the game. Not saying this team hasn't improved just saying they could be better and so many other fans think so too.

  6. Well I think #1 and #23 are our best two backs. I don't know why we wouldnt want the ball in their hands as much as we can. The backups all start on defense and have done really good so far this year.

Absolutely our best two backs. I'm just saying they need to mix things up and use some other players to run and catch. The more players they use the harder to defend. Meigs has done great the first two games but it will be much tougher this week.

  7. This guy is probably talking about the freshman QB starting

Not a coach anymore, retired from that several years ago. I think Meigs is a quality team but they just don't utilize all the talent they have. The freshman starting at QB isn't what I was thinking of when I last posted but I don't think he should be there (that's just my opinion) I do think he should be on the field and get touches, he is a quality player especially on defense. The thing that gets me is there are 5 or 6 other players that should get the ball in their hands during a game. Meigs is so predictable in what they are going to do with the ball a good coach that watches film already knows what to do to stop them. I just think if they would change up play calling and spread the ball around to several different players, maybe change a few blocking schemes they would be hard to stop. I was always an old school smash mouth kind of coach but I think this team has the talent to run or throw but they have to use all the talent not just 2 or 3.

  8. I'm not sure Meigs can win a close game, especially if it comes down to coaching. Defensively Meigs is pretty solid but I really question the play calling. This is one of the most talented teams Meigs will have for some time but if you don't know how to use it what good is it? And for the life of me, why would you play a freshman over a senior at QB? I saw all the scrimmages except for Hixson and the senior was clearly the better of the two. The freshman is a good football player but is in no way ready to lead a team in this region. Yes Meigs beat Sweetwater but that's not saying a whole lot. The Marion, Tyner and Boyd games will be a long night for the Tigers if some things don't change and Friday night could be also if we don't take care of the ball.

  9. Meigs Co football , watch two scrimmage this season and I am not empress so far. The offense was not even close to scoring on McMinn Co this Friday night. What's other people's thoughts.

I also watched both scrimmages and it looks like our blocking schemes are not what they should be and our play calling is questionable. Talking to others this isn't something new. I didn't watch them last year but if this was the way it was last season I understand why they only won 4 games. But also take into consideration 3 starting skill players didn't play Friday and that makes a difference. Meigs couldn't run the ball at all and when they tried throwing, it was either dropped or the QB was under a lot of pressure. I do believe if Meigs had all their starters out there they would have won that scrimmage Friday and not have lost 6-0. IMO
