  1. Me too. But I don't see the old ball coach getting that opportunity this week. DB has a good team and some very good players. This game will come down to turnovers IMO.

Maryville is Maryville, and normally they just play a solid game, and eventually the weight of playing Maryville causes teams to make mistakes! DB has a chance, but it will take as few mistakes as possible, and they must play a solid game in hopes that Maryville will be the ones making mistakes!
  2. We were not as bad as the score last year at Maryville, but our kids were nervous and let playing against Maryville get to their heads and they couldn't get anything done on offense or defense, and GQ backed off when they could score at will! Maryville has the best coaching staff in the State of Tennessee! I am looking forward to seeing if the Tribe can compete with Maryville with the mighty 27 in the game! I believe we can still score some points, but not sure we can stop Maryville from scoring!

  3. Dumb post of the year. I especially liked the part about a "resurgent Science Hill". Resurged from what? I can't tell their any better than they have ever been. Go one or two games in the playoffs just like they always have. The only change is their beating DB now after losing 18 in a row. That's the DB that has now had two losing seasons in a row. I guess that could be the resurgence you're referring to.

Maryville really is the only difference in the conference strength now and what the Big East was. I actually think a point could be made that minus Maryville the Big East was a stronger conference than what we're in today. Sevier Co. and Jefferson Co were much stronger than they are today. I don't think the Bradley and HV of today could of beat the Sevier Co. and Jeff. Co. of yesterday. The 10-200 combined figure is something you pulled out of this air. And why your comparison with the bottom three? Why not the top three? Oh never mind....we all know why. You should stick to shinning Stacy's boots and stay off of CoachT.

No, your post shows your lack of knowledge and that is the dumbest post of the year!
  4. I think we still be solid on offense even with the injuries. Defense has played lights out this year with the exception of the Oakland game. And played fairly well in that game until the wind was let out of the entire team with the loss of Turner. It will definitely be different with a new QB and RB. But it will be the same defense. Safe travels everyone.

Just to clarify my comment on the question if the defense could get a few stops, was directed at the Dobyns Bennett Defense. I haven't seen much of your defense but I have heard you have some really athletic kids! Your backup QB is also athletic and can run well so it is just a different type of poison.
  5. Rarely do WaCo and I agree but the offense averages 35 points a game with a low of 28 this season, so the Smyrna defense will have to play well, but the biggest question in the game is whether the defense can make a couple stops! DB has some players on defense that can play, and I keep waiting for it to all come together! As much as The DB family wants to win, we truly hate to hear about the injury to your QB! We have struggled with some injuries as well and really hate to see kids kid get hurt especially during their Senior year!

  6. Home field advantage won't play a big role imo. DB will have just as many fans there as SH will, maybe more. Everyone knows SH fans won't show up if it's cold out or raining. Which is a shame because Carter has completely turned that program around and I hear they're only going to get better over the next few years. They're a fairly young team this year and I hear those freshman and 8th grade teams are stocked full of talent, especially the freshman team.

DB has some good ones coming up as well! They were 2-0 against the Hill Freshman this year! All the other teams they played this year were JV teams with the only loss being against Elizabethton JV. Second time around DB revenged the loss to the Betsy JV. The JV team only has one loss and that loss was to The Elizabethton JV, so they were 1-1 with Betsy as well. The DB JV also beat SH but the second game was canceled by SH due to a Soccer Game being played on their home field! Should be some good games over the next few years.
  7. When I went there the seats were nice. They were just too far away from the sacred turf across the sacred track. Better than HVA.

SH has the better facility compared to HVA but similar in distance from the field! They could have made the stadium better with better rise in the stands! They went cheap and took the angle of the Hill rather than going up with a better angle! Miserable place to watch a game, and I have sat in just about every possible location on home and visitors side, and it is not good at any location! We may be spoiled at J Fred, but most schools in the district have a better view from the stands, even WB and Bearden who only have one set of stands but a good view of the game. BC was a good venue, and good atmosphere, but the announcer is annoying!
  8. Both of these teams have improved! This DB team is tough and they never give up! Injuries or a loss of a key player like Wadsworth, can make a difference in a game as we saw with a similar situation against WB. DB's line may be one of the best run blocking teams in the State, and their balance between run and pass could be the difference in these two teams! DB needs to just be decent against the pass to be successful on Defense! this should be a good one to watch, just a bad place to watch it! SH has a poorly designed stadium to watch a game, I do not think there is a good seat in the house!

  9. I'm not a legend on CoachT. I just a guy that post here without the candy coating. People in Kingsport like the candy coating, so I make them mad. Haha.

So now DB has "no" running back to finish out the season? Should be interesting to see if Maupin can survive this.

I don't want candy coating, I want to hear specifics good and bad, something intelligent rather the normal cry babying. I want to hear knowledge on what a team does well and specifics on where you see the deficiencies! I personally believe this team has some extremely good qualities, but the clear problem is the coaching on defense! The offense has been fairly consistent but I believe we are scared to score fast, because it means the opposing offenses will get the ball back throw it right down our throats. I want to hear the legend give us the positives and negatives, talk some X and O's, not just whine!
  10. Well I think you're an Idiot. And I think you are a joke. So there slick. Now what?

I will bet more people agree with me than agree with you. Now get back to doing the coaches laundry.

You got me on that one, I should know not to mess with you, cause you are a coach T legend! Haha
  11. I'm sure the guy calling the plays for DB was trying to score there. A six point win over a "not very good" Bearden team would not look good in the Saturday morning paper. Another score there and it would fool the DB fans (even the ones at the game) into believing that the game wasn't that close. Everything in Kingsport is an illusion. Upper Deck = Great Football Team.

Waco, you continue to prove you are an idiot, and I am starting to realize you are a Science Hill fan because you are a joke!
  12. "The Indians whittled the game clock down to 15 seconds from there, capping the victory with Maupin's 44-yard touchdown scamper, his third score of the night." - Trenton Duffer, kns-sports@knoxnews.com

I wonder if that D-B fan, that almost came on the field when Maryville's backup QB scored late, has on opinion of this play.

Your point would be better if you knew what you were talking about. 6 pt game and the play was 3rd and long when he broke through the stacked line. The game was still in question until that score. It was not a knee taking time, but then again I didn't see anything wrong with what Maryville did either!
  13. Remember the 2007 game well.Bearden went to the semi's and got srewd, should have won the state title.DB won one playoff game.Remember this one because of the kick return earlier

Just a reminder that DB got robbed of a TD where our kid dove and hit the pylon and they called him out of bounds at the three, and the kid dove from an angle that he could not have gone out of bounds! Their was a great picture of that and I used to have it several phones ago. It would be great if someone could share that if they have it! Or the video if someone has it! The kick off return was a great example of speed!!! Young was not big, but was one of the fastest kids I have ever seen.
  14. A lot of key players were out in the WB game, but I guess missing key players only matters if you are Maryville who goes 3 deep at every position! WB matched up well with our weakness, pass defense. I do not feel Bearden and Science are good enough throwing the ball to exploit that weakness, Jeff County might be. With that said Bearden may have benefited from the week off to heal up and prepare while DB comes in extremely banged up from back to back hard fought battles against the two toughest teams in the District Maryville and BC. Several key injuries will be something DB will have to overcome, the next three weeks and sickness to the big man in the middle! I have seen a toughness in this DB team that I have not seen in a long time, so I guess we just need to line em up and see who has the most fight!

  15. Playing and coaching not to win is ignorant! That's like saying the jv boys are not important and are expendable. Sends a good message to them. And if u saying the qb was a freshman, that kind of explains why he got sacked so many times and had a rough night. Why not play the qb that helped beat us twice last year? U must be correct in saying that they don't coach to win...wonder why the 2 programs seem to be going in different directions?

Different directions? Your program scraped by against Boone a couple weeks ago and got man handled at home by a HVA team DB crushed in the road! Let's wait until the last game of the season to see if you feel the same then!

  16. Watch Nick Saban if anything isn't right with Bama.I hope he is all over Lane and Jeremy next week. That's why head coaches make the money and take the heat or the glory. You go back five years and put coach Quarles at DB and see if there wouldn't be 150 kids out every year wanting to play.No outstanding athlete would ever be disrespected by him or any coach on his team .It wouldn't be if's and but's,all of Kingsport would be expecting a state championship this year, not wishing for a 2nd or 3rd round win.DB has the players on the team and in the halls every year.Give them what they need and everyone would be on the kool-aid.I argue every day or two with people that think DB doesn't have athletes any more. One or two moves and even with much of the staff in place, DB is a powerhouse.Just my opinion if anyone agrees or not

I try to keep it as positive as possible, because I know some kids see this stuff, and I am with you we have some really good ones out there, and also agree there are others walking the halls that could play and there others on the sideline that could play, at least giving rest to the starters. There are one or two coaches that struggle with the step up to the higher level of play, and I don't like to call for anyone to be fired, but job duties should be shifted! The offense is scoring points but being held back to take time off the clock because we have not been able to stop teams that throw the ball consistently. I still believe the boys are as good as most DB teams from the past, but we need to learn to keep teams under 30 pts. If I was Clark, I would become strongly involved with the defense, or lay your ears back and try to out score everyone. D-line looks good, linebackers look good, D-backs need a strategy that makes sense. One of our leaders in interceptions played very little this week because certain defensive coaches want to blame the kids for their lack of coaching! Fix this problem and the kids may surprise some people! Three games to get it right before the playoffs.
  17. Best team by far we have seen all year. QB is darn good. It looked like facing the Giants out there compared to yalls DL. Glad the super 32 will be over, but I wouldn't mind playing DB more in the future. I the our guys will be black and blue today, for sure lol.

Only thing I didn't like bout DB last night was why in the world did they play man? One on one with Tucker was crazy. That hurt y'all more than anything. I don't see y'all losing anymore regulate season games.

Coach T needs a like button: I agree with and respect a lot that I see on here, from a lot of people from other teams, but you hit the nail on the head with this post! We do not know how to defend the pass, the defensive coaches make adjustments and it only gets worse. If we ever figure this problem out we will compete with anyone with a chance to win, we now only compete! Part of it is not playing certain kids in the right position, but mainly defensive coaching. Coach Clark needs to step in and do the defense himself, the players are there! You all have a great place to watch a football game, and some great athletes, just need to tighten things up for Maryville as they are fundamentally sound and have 14-0 lead over the opposing team mentally before the game even gets started.
