Already heard a couple of friends of mine from Clinton upset over the wing-T. If you all think that's bad wait until you see the quarterback go back and forth to the sidelines to get the play. See how that works out for you all when you run into a game and valuable time is clicking off the clock in a barn burner and you run out of time on the three yard line.

Would it be fair to say that Scott Blade underachieved at Oak Ridge compared to what he has accomplished at Indy? I would think yes.

Would it be fair to say that the only reason that McKamey is interested in Clinton is because GCA told him that he needed to find a new job?

It's hard for me to believe that McKamey, who underachieved at GCA, will succeed at a rebuilding job in Clinton.

Sounds like some great candidates for the Clinton job. I think ultimately McCamey will get the job. A lot of talk of coaches not staying in one place for too long nowadays. My question is, would the Price brothers leave CC if a better job came calling? For fact, they interviewed for the Central job the first time around after Helton was forced out.

I'm willing to bet that they will be at GCA next year.

That's interesting I heard a Div ii college coach interviewed yesterday and scored very well , and still hearing nothing but kudos for Lane , I've done my research , seems like Div ii college record along with 5a state championship that Lane holds , would be very stiff competion for a coach playing in single A with private school recruited talent against single A public schools ,I not follow grace to closely but only power wins I can recall was trap games between AC and CAK , and Clinton isn't playing in a soap box with single A teams , also I'm not sure ole school dragons have forgotten that Mckamey recruited the Clinton area hard with some success , which some elude was the start of the Clinton demise , so if you right eagles fan , this is very interesting !! But I wouldn't doubt that your correct !

Whats the timetable for an announcement?

If my source is correct, they are finishing interviews this week and a decision will be made no later than the first week of Janurary. My guess would be Randy McKamey or Kevin Lane. Both have interviewed.

I was fortunate to get to go to church this morning. Went with an old friend from Oak Ridge. We got to talking again about football of course and the subject of Clinton came up again. Anyway long story short he said he knew for a fact there is a short list they are "considering", there is a short list of "just in case others don't work out" and a short list of "these are our targets". He said they have received interest from around the area but only a couple of them are former players or have a tie to Clinton. That's not counting anyone currently on staff or Herrell. He also said he was told they "want someone not too young, not too old and has ties to Clinton. So there is a handful that has shown interest...and of them a couple have Clinton ties...but who are they? That he DIDNT know. I have nothing to do with you guys personally but as I've said I just love High School football. I do wonder who that is out there though?

They better hire the best person for the job and not worry about if he's from Clinton.

The AD should be the one getting the schedule ironed out if there isn't a coach in place yet. The longer you all screw around getting a coach the worse it will be.

Exactly. Some coaches that are interested now will end up changing their minds when they get back in the weight room with their current team. Change is hard and the longer you give people to think about it, the more likely they are to get cold feet. They should have posted the job immediately and hired a coach by the time the spring semester started so that the new coach could start with the team right after Christmas.

January could be the earliest that we hire a coach and possibly won't know our schedule until then too.

Not smart to wait that long.

He's at the top of my list because I know he's a good coach and he will bring discipline back to the program. He won't let the kids do whatever they want. Somebody has to be at the top of the list. That's just my opinion. I think there will be several apply that will be more than qualified to run our program. Who would be at the top of your list?

It's hard to tell until you know who actually applies. Matt Price would be a good one, but I don't think that he will apply. We will know more after the the state championship games when they post the job for applicants.

Why does Scotty Herrell seem to be the "favorite" for this job?
