  1. Gotta love how all the experts are weighing in on WB's new schedule and WB football in general. First of all, that schedule is nothing to smirk at. The region is tough and the only two gimmes I see are Lenoir City and Stone Memorial. Anderson Co is due to have another good team and Jeff Co is always a challenge for us. We may have 2 gimmes but Alcoa and Oak Ridge have a schedule full of em. :popcorneater: Oh, and WB will win more than 2 games in 2017. Book it!

stone memorial went 21-2 last two yrs according to CoachT schedules - made playoffs last 4 yrs. 33-12 over last 4 yrs. know they are 4A but wouldn't consider that a gimme!

  2. Good luck to SH. You going to need it over there. Refs were awful last year. Probably the dirtiest team I have ever seen play high school football.

you know the TSSAA assigns refs to playoff games and use an association that neither team uses in regular season? Schools have nothing to do with getting officials. So to think that the refs were biased toward one team is ridiculous. Don't know who will win but could be the best game between these two regions and I think it will be a hard hitting but not dirty game.

  3. Predictions this week? Chiefs are almost back to full strength for first time since Tellico game. Interested to see how they finish...

    Chatt Central 12 E Ham 28

    Sequoyah 28 Hixson 27

    Cumberland 20 LA 14

still interested to see how chiefs do - 49 and 63 last two weeks - bright side - if they win last two could make playoffs - livingston 1-7 and chatt central 2-6

  4. How many kids at catholic have parents that are druggies, how many kids at catholic are on free or reduced lunch, one parent homes, have to work to help parents pay bills, have kids that are homeless, - My hometown team has all these,

several kids hang out at every event the school has just so they don't have to go home, 70+ % on free/reduced lunch - 2 considered homeless, majority have jobs year-round just to be able to have a vehicle to get back and forth, several have IEP's - Bet Cat-lick has none of those -

Hard for kids to totally focus on football when they have to worry about the necessities first.

Rural county kids don't have same training opportunities as privates - Know for a fact they used to pay for a group to come in and train their kids - Not a group here to even offer that -

It's not equal at all - Need to find an article few yrs ago by Carlton Flatt - coached Brentwood Academy for yrs and then started helping public school - he said he had no idea how different it was and that its not fair.

  5. I don't see how this would ever happen. Region 4-4A, for example, these teams would have to travel 2.5 hours, two to three games a year, JUST for region play.

    EXAMPLE:

    Marshall County traveling to...

Cumberland County- 2 hours 33 minutes

Stone Memorial- 2 hours 28 minutes

Dekalb County- 1 hour 46 minutes

Livingston Academy- 2 hours 25 minutes

Giles County and Tullahoma are both less than an hour

    agreed - won't happen

  6. Pathetic and extremely disappointing. If we play this as poorly as we did last night, don't change some personnel, and don't change some schemes, we will end up 4-6.

sounds like your kid didn't get to play - If you think Rhea will go 4-6 you don't know football - you have one of the best coaches in the state in a community that loves their high school football - embrace it and love it - your child probably does - don't ruin it for him! Some would love to be a part of a program like Rhea.
