There aren't any "set" cutoffs for DI football playing schools.  Toss out any previous numbers.

This is a total reclassification as I gather.

DI football playing schools will be divided equally (as possible)  across the 6 classes.

^ that & that alone will determine the "breakpoints" for each class.

If there are 300 football playing schools in DI then there will be 50 per class.

    300÷6 =50

The largest enrollment school in each of the lower 5 classes will determine the enrollment cutoff number for their respective class.

I believe this will be just a 2 year classification?

Correct on 2 years. There’s 294 football schools currently listed on TSSAA website for this season. 294/50 = 49 per class

WCYB was brilliant and got the jump on the competition by airing local games, but they have royally screwed up by trying to show everybody in the Tri-CIties... instead of playing the best games.

Nobody wants to watch Sullivan Central play Volunteer or any other team that is not rich in history and a winning program. They should show DB, ELIZ, & SH GAMES and maybe a TNH game once in a while.

DB will absolutely destroy SH this weeks. Give the points and take the over. The Tribe will score at will.

Nothing says Kingsport quite like this post.

  3. Volunteer was tied with Bristol at halftime a couple of weeks ago, they are not a bad football team by any stretch. I think it will be a really physical game, great test for the dogs before they begin their playoff run.

You care to post 3A and 4A on the board on 3/4A thread?

Any new schools coming on board that have yet to apply for TSSAA membership?  I remember a few years back a few out of the Memphis area were added AFTER the classifications were set.  Seems like they were added the following week when everything got finalized but were not counted as part of the number of schools used to split the classes evenly.

When do you think they will post classifications?

Are the Sullivan schools confirmed to be closing (replaced by a large one)

    Yes.

West Ridge will open next fall.
    Sullivan East will remain open.

Sullivan South, Sullivan Central, and Sullivan North will all close.

This is the list I came up with based on the reported numbers. I think I may be missing at least one school, but it should be pretty close. I ended up with 294 schools in 6 classes of 49 each. The last couple schools above the cutoffs could ultimately move down, as I didn't factor in schools that may request to move up a class or the reports that some numbers may need to be corrected. Also, if I missed a school with a smaller enrollment, a school just below the cutoff could move up.

    I have 294 as well.

Question. What game was it where DB was backed up in the end zone, last play of the game, and coach had them tackle every player of the opposing team, 2 players left standing and our player tried to make a run down the field.  Can't remember what playoff game that was but it was a home game and it was humiliating that they had to stoop to that.  One of the few times I booed the coaching staff.

    They did what?

I appreciate that....My last two going thru and they're having a blast....pray all are healthy when the last second clicks off

It’s amazing what a premium there is on health at every level of football, even more so when they’re your own. I guess it’s part of what makes it such a great game!
