  1. Under your scenario for the Middle Region, your first  premise should read

    “if FG and DCA win”

in the scenario “ColA and DCA win”

I think it would be :CA, DCA, NCS , Grace

The 3 way tie for 2nd would go to DCA due to total wins and then NCS would have the head to head over Grace

Let me know if this is wrong

under any final scenario there will be some great games.

Things seem to have stayed the way I was thinking that they were.

    #1. Huntingdon vs #4. Waverly

#2. Riverside vs #3. Mount Pleasant

    #1. Loretto vs #4. Peabody

    #2. Lewis vs #3. Milan

Huntingdon took care of business at home last night. As long as they don’t slip up I think they got the #1 seed wrapped up after beating Milan and Riverside the past two Fridays.

The #1 seed in Region 5 is  still up for grabs.

Loretto still has to go to Waverly and to Mt. Pleasant.  Two tough games on the road.

Oh I didn’t call this one. I think DCA should have won but too many catastrophic busts cost them. I think DCA punted once and drove inside the 20 4 times with 3 points. DCAs QB had 370 yards passing and had multiple drops. Sneed only had 3 catches too and he’s in my mind the best player in D2A. He looks like a 6’6” 235 WR that’s been gifted with things others aren’t. DCAs WRs piled up yards but CA held strong when they needed to.

Defensively DCA will hopefully fix some issues with really bad  busts that cannot happen that allow big plays. They’ve done it twice this year with teams with talented running backs so now some things will help the kids do better.

CA capitalized on their opportunities though so good for them. It’s halfway through the season and the talented sophomores that start and play for DCA will learn and continue to get better. Coach Wade is a great coach and is never a guy other coaches want to play twice. The playoffs will be very fun to watch IMO.

DCA is a very good team.  Great qb and receivers.  I think they are only getting better as the season evolves.  They will be a handful for anyone in the playoffs.

But I thought our CA team played extremely well and dug deep when things got tight.  Our running back had 307 yards on 26 carries and our qb ran for 100.  Our defense got enough pressure to make the difference.

Good luck. CA will be a much improved team. It’s a game of interest for sure. I think CA was picked by one of the websites to be 3rd in the middle region this year? Their RB is as dangerous as anyone in D2A so best of luck.

It will be a good game tonight.  Somewhat contrasting styles and will be very interesting.

  5. I still do not understand.  Even if Trinity loses to FACS, he has Fayette ahead of you even if they lose to Jackson.  At that point Trinity would be 2-3 in the region and Fayette would be 2-4.  How does that work?  The only explanation is that the stated TSSAA policy that " if a team has to cancel due to Covid , then they do not have a region loss, but the opposing team has a region win" is not accurate.

Thank you for the support. Sadly, in our case it's not this way officially.

I thought that Covid wins count as a region win but covid losses are considered "no contest".  In that case, your original post would have been correct.

I can tell you that this website is wrong about its predictions in the West. His predictions say that if TCA wins and Fayette Academy wins that TCA would be the five seed and Tipton Rose mark would be the three seed. That is incorrect. Tipton Rose Mark has finished region play and is 3-2. Should TCA defeat FACS, they would also finish 3-2 in region play. As TCA would hold the head-to-head tiebreaker against tra. And upset fa win would make them 3-3. Percentage wise, 3-2 is better than 3-3. Thus there is no three-way tie. Jmo

    Correct, my friend!

They work. 95% of hospitalizations are unvaccinated. I knew 6 people that died from it last year. 3 in the same family within 24 hrs of each other.

That is totally incorrect.  If you get the correct numbers from the hospitals you will find that more than 50% of hospitalizations related to "Covid" are in fact individuals who have had at least one vaccination shot.

The vaccine actually causes greater susceptibility to the "Delta" version, for which there is really no test to distinquish from the flu.

    All of it is propaganda.

Amount of losses has nothing to do with it. It is all about wins.

Therefore, if Webb somehow beats MTCS, the standings will be.

    2. FCS

    3. TKA

    4. MTCS

because fcs and tka have the same amount of wins it will go to head to head. And that would give the nod to Friendship.

I am pretty sure the tie breaker goes like this.  Begins with amount of region wins, then head to head record, then overall record. Although, I could be wrong.

If Webb beats MTCS then they will have 3 region losses and your order is correct.

But the question assumes a 3 way tie where the first tie- breaker is always head to head. That does not break the tie because each has lost to one of the other two.

So you go to overall wins. Here Kings wins with 8.  The best that FCa can do is 7 wins .  So Kings is Second place to DCA who is number 1

then to break tie between FCS and MTCS you go back to head to head. Here MTCS wins so they are third place and FCS is fourth place

Any idea what the specifics are? It seems many schools are making really bad decisions with cancellations. In other words, instead of sitting the positive player(s), they are doing some weird contact tracing and forcing numerous kids to sit out. It’s all over the map how different schools are handling this too. I think this has been a big overreaction for the simple fact that kids are simply not at risk! None are hardly ever hospitalized and most kids are asymptomatic! I mean, what are we doing?! With kids, it should be treated exactly like the flu. If they are symptomatic and test positive, sit them out. Everyone else...play ball! Stop with the fear and panic emotional reaction craziness!

I agree 100%.  In the past, we would have never known that someone was even feeling bad - they would have played and gone on.  This reaction to this overblown "pandemic" is crazy.

  11. Coach Mote is  and always has been an excellent defensive coach.  But the talent level at Lewis is above what it was last year and Coach Sharp (at least at this point) seems more willing to throw the ball.  He has very capable receivers.  Summertown has defeated two teams that are down and had a covid win.  Lewis will win by at least two tds.  Their defense is excellent.

  12. Keon Johnson of Webb Bell Buckle is by far the best player in Tennessee this year and as far as his position goes, the best player in Tennessee in many years.  There are probably not 3 teams in the state in any class that can beat them if Keon is playing. (currently injured)

  13. One aspect of the Division II A playoffs is the travel that will be involved.   In the first round, Chattanooga Grace will travel to Jackson to play USJ; Tipton Rosemark will travel to Donelson to play DCA;  and Fayette travels to Murfreesboro to play MTCS.  Mt. Juliet Christian has the shortest of the four trips and that trip is still more than an hour and a half.

Then in the second round USJ will have to travel a great distance to play Kings.  Significant travel.

But the playoffs are always the best part of the season and the kids will probably not notice the distance.

Good luck to all and enjoy the RIDE!
