You are correct Beach Hound. Coach Gaddis needs to retire. He has never been effective running this football program. He had great talent and should have won four or more state championships. The assistant coaches also need to retire. The AD needs to clean house with the entire coaching staff. I no longer give money to support the football program.

Other than loosing to walker valley how has gaddis ever been outcoached when hes been back? How does one fire and clean house when assistant coaches may make a max of 5k a year? Sign me up because high school assistant coaches make alot of money and everyone is chomping at the bits to do it!

Why can't he play both? Put him in the backfield some, end of story. Doesn't mean you have to stop playing him @ wideout. This isn't rocket science.

I'm not following the gist though. No receiver threats other than Romano or Johnson. Best rb is jackson. Put Romano and Jackson in the backfield together. Dont you double Johnson and put 8 or 9 people in the box versus that?

Yeah, he had a great game. I'd just like to see him in the backfield more. It just gives him more opportunities to touch the ball in my opinion. But he&*, what do I know? I'm just a fan on a HS message board ha. This is what us fans do. We think we have all the answers, when really we don't know jacksh&* lol

Exxxactly.... put the best receivers on the team in the backfield... so their is no threat at all outside... talk about loading the box!

Yeah, we were pretty much outmanned at every position tonight. I agree with Elite though, I’d like to see both Jackson & Romano in the backfield some. Just gives a defense another guy to worry about. In our offense we are pretty much wasting Romano because our passing attack is really below average, so he’s not touching the ball hardly at all. Put him in the backfield along with Kendall and he’s touching the ball at least 5 times a game.

Looks like the rest of our season against above average teams is just gonna have to be a ball control offense to keep the opposing teams offense off the field because our offense just isn’t able to sustain long drives. Sadly, there’s just not much to work with out there to be frank. On the bright side, Kendall Jackson is a baller. Imagine that kid as a SR with 2 full years in the weight room. We are looking at our next D1 athlete folks. That kid is a stud. He was punishing tacklers tonight and that’s a tough a$& defense he was putting a hurting on.

Didn't Romano haul In 8 passes last week for  2 tds?

Been saying this for so Long! It’s insane running up the middle in a freaking pistol????! With two receivers??? Horrible man just horrible! Again deep balls was inaccurate again.. no Stewart idk what happened he got more passes last year with a better squad??? Playbook has been horrible for awhile now! I think the playbook needs a complete change!!!!! Starting with to be continued on next post.....

Defines to me what/why running up the middle in pistol is bad? Didn't West High do that? What would any WR have done against that squad tonight? Stewart may run a 5.2 fourty so not sure what that would accomplish  ?

The city is working at being young. I can see that when I drive through town a couple of times per week. You’re right about the other things, though. Oak Ridge was good at sports when other schools hadn’t quite caught up to it. Now the good large schools in the area has caught up or passed

The girls basketball team was close to winning a state championship last year, boys basketball has been to the state tournament many times in the past 7-8 years. The football team went to the 3rd round of the play6and played the only private school team playing in public school playoffs. The private school team had 10 d1 players to oak ridges 2 and they lost in the 4th quarter. 1 year is an anomaly, not status quo

The city is old. Lots of the facilities (home side stands, horrible dressing rooms, press  box) are old. Your coach is old. Oak Ridge's football achievements are old. Their loyal fans are old and stuck in past glory. Oak Ridge football is irrelevant...

What would make them relevant? Going to the 3rd round of the playoffs and losing to a team with 10 future d1 players? Last I checked do fans congregate in the pressbox and dressing room?

I actually agree with you but football will be hit the hardest because there doesn't seem to be any big kids (linemen types) around. That, along with the alarming lack of speed that was evident last night, means OR could face a long few years. I've mentioned the speed problem and after thinking about it, I think this may be the slowest OR team in history.

According to you there are multiple built in excuses so let's mark this season up as a wash for you. Speed isn't everything, though it means a lot, I think lineman mean more like you said(whoops!)..oh well.....I'd LOVE to see you coach something.... ANYTHING... but we both know that wont happen....

I agree with you but I don't see much talent at the middle schools either. I can't remember when both middle schools had good teams in the same year. This year JMS is awful and RMS is pretty good. In the last few years it has been the opposite. Back 20, 30, 40 years ago, it was very normal for both teams to be good.

You could find multiple years where they're both good going back to the first year, 88. This years team is made up of the champions from one side or another in the past 2 years but I guess the kids get worse and uncoachable as they get older

I would agree too EXCEPT One would think though that when all "5" starting linemen return from the previous year it wouldn't be a jailbreak every play for the opposite defense.  Seems like you want to point out lineman and lack fo size but that never effects the defense.  Strange......

The new jumbotron/score board is up and looks good. Its lower to the ground than I expected but might look better that way.Does anybody know where I can find a Robertsville and Oak Ridge freshman/jv sch at?

I like my 'trons at eye level. More discussion and friendship made compared to looking UP at one.

www.oakridgefootball.net has a drop down window with the frosh and jv schedules. I have seen the RMS schedule somewhere but don't remember where right now. Old age has got me.

At OR we aren't known for football tradition, we build friendships on the sidelines during a 60-7 thrashing. Come play for us and build friendships with your teammates.

Laugh at me and gaddis now but you'll see. Every good team I've ever seen dances and high fives on the sidelines no matter the score

Man, you're killing me! You know it hurts when you laugh VERY VERY hard? That's the funniest post I've read in a long time. This comedy has helped me put that disaster of a scrimmage in the back of my mind!

I'm sorry not trying to be funny. I just want the cats to be happy together and win the biggest game of the year next week. Gaddis has done this a long time so friendships must be important to him after the good times on the sidelines tonight

I'm sorry but if OR had a guy dancing on the sidelines in the second half (I didn't see that but I was watching the game) then that's a problem since OR was getting blown out at the time. Why would anyone be dancing?

Treadwell was what I hear. Looked like he and a bunch of others were doing some team build/ friendship exercises so they could forget about the game that's all. They were pretty good in honesty. Lots of laughs and high fives so I'm confident Gaddis told them too work on friendship and not the game.

Unconcerned about your post. I'm here to talk about OR football, this team, and what they need to do to move forward. And I'm still fired up about what I saw from Gaddis but we need more fire from the players.

If #69 moves inside more players can move outside and get better. Plus Gaddis never yelled at him as he was the only bright spot in the secondary.  Caused two fumbles and a sack

  17. 3 minutes ago, bonkers said:

What are you talking about? Is he an OR player or a Maryville player?

Def an OR player. He was slappin hands and dancin on the sidelines a whole bunch second part. Seemed like he was the morale guy for the team and everyone was excited to be around him.  Looked like a lot of friends were forced
