Alcoa was gonna move to 4A but all the local 4A teams decided to bump to 5A. If Alcoa moved to 5A, those teams would go back to 4A. 3A is much more competitive with those types of moves along with the size of region and travel times. Greeneville would have been a great game this year. Other than them, not so much. Y’all definitely don’t want Alcoa in 5A. Fact!!! Ask Catholic....:thumb:

If Alcoa is so big and bad, why did they decline the offer to schedule a game next season with the Irish??? Congrats to the Bobcats! At least it wasn’t that communication school on the other end of Broadway.

Last home game I went to they started 6. So I apologize for not being up to date on the starting lineup of Knoxville Catholic. I would think in a game that depends on mental and physical experience 4 is a lot. Last time Catholic started  that many freshmen my son was one of them back in 2013. Still looking forward to a good game. I’ll make sure so know exactly how many freshmen are starting before posting.  Once again accept my apology.

No worries. Injuries forced the freshman to play early. They have gained valuable experience all year against good  competition. Looking forward to the game.

Very big difference. Last year Catholic played mostly seniors, this year they’re starting mostly freshmen. Central is very experienced team with a lot of talent. Looking forward to an exciting game. Some of my former students play for Central.

Not sure where you get your info, but the Irish start 4 freshman.

Don't know anything about Coach McKamey wanting to leave. I guess it is possible....anything is these days. He is a Clinton guy, afterall. I hope all of our coaches stay put and develop the young talent we have at GCA.

As for the kids that bolted to Catholic......one of them made a family choice that I don't have a problem with. He wasn't nearly as developed as his brothers were, but now he is hitting his stride and learning from his stud brother. I'm guessing the switch will help him in the long run. I hope so for his sake....good kid!

The other two....good bye....adios....don't need those selfish attitudes and overzealous parents around our school. Kids come to GCA for much more than a sports program. We have a ton of GCA lifers (contrary to all the small school complaints) that are great leaders, good students and a core of pretty darn good athletes, coming up in the system.

A wise man said more than once, "I'd rather lose with mine, than win with yours!" We may not win state championships (most don't), but most of our kids will win at life....eternally (sadly, many don't.) I'll take that all day long.

You obviously know nothing about those two young men or their overzealous parents or how many years they unselfishly labored for GCA. So my advice to you is, dont worry about the decision that was made. It's none of your business.
