If there was fights, clothes being ripped off and injuries, word would have gotten around and everyone in Fentress County would have heard about it when it happened because everything get passed around pretty quick here... York and Clarkrange boys NEVER had any issues in their scrimmages. Heck these boys and girls play each other 3-4 times a year every year in grade school... Why do their feelings toward each other apparently change once in high school? Your post make absolutely no sense and is entirely not true.
Idk if you ever go to any of the York games, but when Clarkrange doesn't have a game that night some of the players from both of the girls and boys teams go sit with the York pep club every game and the coaches even show up to the games... If there was ANY bad blood at all those kids would not sit where they do nor would you think their coaches would allow them to even be there.-

Jodi, No way you can justify this... On one hand you complain because people won't play Cookeville (aka Baxter) and then in the same breath you try to justify Lamar HIMSELF deciding this game wouldn't happen....

Lamar has said the 1 schoolboard member told him not to play... You think that ANY schoolboard member tells Lamar what to do with his program??????
The schedules were set and sent to the coaches TWO MONTHS ago!!!! If he didn't wanna take the chance to play? Bow out BEFORE THE TOURNAMENT STARTS!!!! York was denied an opportunity to get better against "the goat" as he's been called....
They played in 95 and NOTHING out of the way happened
This is a forfeit and everyone knows it
To bad Coach T won’t list the game on here as a forfeit and York win. It was originally put on there and then for some reason the game got removed… I guess Clarkrange has close ties or something and told them to keep it off their schedule/record because they will not add that game back even if requested lol

Yes, Clarkrange forfeited the game according to the tournament director.
To use the excuse that they can’t play York due to a shooting that happened 40-50 years ago is a pretty poor one. There is no agreement, rule or anything in place saying these two teams can’t play. York has been trying to schedule with Clarkrange for years and years but get turned down every time. The boys even used to scrimmage before the season a few years ago but for some reason the girls never wanted too.But the bracket for this tournament was put out over a month in advance, they knew there would be a possibility of meeting up with York… I feel bad for the girls from both teams to have this game taken away from them like this. York coaches wanted to play this game but Clarkrange had no intentions of wanting to play at all.

York had every opportunity in the world to win that game. Missed a lot of shots even a chance to tie and send into OT but missed it. Great game and great season for the Dragons.

That should be a great game. Will be interesting to see what the final to that one will be.
Don’t really know much about the two teams but I do know they are pretty good. York had to travel to Brainerd in a Sub State game just 2-3 years ago.

Pretty much just having the last shot. They may have felt even if they scored early that they couldn’t stop York and York would score again. But if they hold for that last shot they could go in at half either down 1 or 2 points if they make the shot. If they shoot early and miss that gives York a chance to hold the ball and increase its lead even more than it would have been if they had just held it.

Macon County absolutely shot lights out from the 3pt line. I’d say well over half their points were 3s. As for York a very very poor shooting night for them, which isn’t like them at all. Not much you can do when a team is feeling it like Macon County was. But York will host LA at York Friday night in what should be a great one!

Not getting a 4th down conversion is a turnover in the stat book. Thats why its called a turnover on downs. Score is Upperman 30 York 7.

If I remember right UHS actually passed the ball quite a bit in the second half. I know for sure they took a few shots at the end zone and one was very questionable weather it was a catch or not and it ended up being incompelte. It’s not gonna be a blow out by no means on Friday. Look for it to be close hard fought game by both teams to the very end!

If y’all really believe a guy from Oneida that thinks he knows more about York football than their own fans do then that’s y’all fault lol. Plus I’d really like to know where you heard this “Alcoa film” rumor from lol. You guys hating on York so bad and we’re all over here laughing at the hate cause y’all are so ridiculous about it... keep it coming, we love it!
But I do think York has a good shot of beating Upperman this Friday if they play like they have been. Should be a great game. Especially if we play like we did against that great passing attack of Signal! LOL!

To be fair… foul count in the 1st half was 7-2 in GC favor… most of y’all’s fouls in 2nd half came from putting our girls on the line late in the game… nonetheless it was a great game from both sides. Well played and hard fought.
