I've seen both of these teams play this season. Let's just be real honest... Stewart co has a couple of players and their team plays hard, but Stewart is a 2nd rate program with a 3rd rate coaching staff.

I expect Fairview will have the clock running in the 2nd half this week,  and Stewarts season will be over after next week.

CheathamMan, that 3rd rate coaching staff you speak of looked to have their guys ready to go last Friday night.  Hopefully, they will do the same against Stratford.

  2. I say Fairview is the team to beat once again.  I think Camden lost some important players but that not to say they will not be good.  Sycamore is always tough.  I think everyone after that is pretty even.  It will be a battle for that final playoff spot.

To me, it depends on the player. If a player wants to win, then the kid has to be placed at a school that gives him/her the best chance to win.

If a kid wants to be a “star athlete in high school” then he/she will need to go to a 1A/2A school that will give you way more opportunities to play and you’re able to produce. In addition to that, the chances of him staying in a football game will be longer because a 1A/2A football usually only has 30-40 players on it. The only downside, you’re having amazing stats against terrible teams.

I will say this, if a coach is willing to sacrifice winning to improve the character of a player, I will get that kid the heck out. If I was a parent, it’s my job to raise my child, not the coach. I see a lot of coaches that gives two flips about winning, but wants to be a dad and improve their character and Yadi Yadi ya. High School athletes wants to win, they don’t want to be better individuals, they want to win and enjoy being high school athletes. No high school kid is going to say “man, we only went 2-8 in football but I sure did improve a whole lot as a person.”

This is a terrible take.   Yeh you want to win and that is everybody's goal but you want to win with respectful kids as well.

i said earlier i didnt think LC was very good, and last night kinda changed my mind.

Made the trip to Hoenwald last night. It was a much better officiatted game than at camden, and the LC team looked like a totally diferent team than we played the first time. foul trouble hurt both teams, LC was better early and better late. thought the lions played very hard in the 3rd and forced LC to turn it over. LC is small but very tough inside. 10, 5, and 2 for LC were hard to handle, and 35 has really nice touch. it was their senior night and the will be losing 10, 5, and 35, and they will be hard to replace next year. LC will see us again, and hope we can match their play next time. good game by both teams.

Lewis is playing better for sure.  East has been a big surprise to me.  Those young kids they have play hard.  I'm lookin forward to district tournament play.

Fairview is trash.  They barely beat Hickman and they are garbage too.  Camden sucks.  Lewis is is terrible.  Waverly is awful.  Everyone else should just do themselves a favor and go play baseball because they are a disgrace to the game.  They’ll get swept in the regions like I said

Wardog, who in your eyes is good?  I'd like to see a team you approve of.

    District 11-AA GIRLS Basketball Standings

    1.)  Creek Wood                 (9-1)

    2.)  Stewart                         (8-2)

    3.)  East Hickman              (6-4)

    4.)  Lewis                             (6-4)

    5.)  Camden                        (5-5)

    6.)  Fairview                        (3-7)

    7.)  Hickman                       (3-7)

    8.)  Waverly                        (0-10)

big game tonight for both East and Lewis.  If Lewis drops this one to SC its going to put them a game back from East because I expect them to beat HIckman.  Also,  both still have to play Creek Wood.   Going to be difficult for them to get back in the top four for a first round home game.

Stewart County needed time to figure some things out. In the summer their leading scorer tore her ACL. She just recently came back and they looked good.

They have looked good at times without her up to this point as well. The other seniors have stepped up and Anna Gray plays harder than any player ive seen. you add the experience they return, plus experience they have gotten without their "go to player" on the court and add in two stellar twin freshman who will be two to watch over the next 3 years... if they gel all of this together with their "star" back... they will not only go deep in tournament play they may be looking further than regions. when they play hard, they are hard to handle. The one thing I fault them on is effort EVERY night. We shall see... I would not doubt they run the table the rest of the way of regular season.

Agreed PrimeXTime, they are very deep and could be dangerous down the stretch.

Lewis will tak the L tonight. i think the girls will take car of business.

Playing Lewis is always an extreme advantage if you play them at home and an extreme disadvantage if you play them on the road.  It is just so far away it is hard to go that far and play well unless it is Hickman, Fairview, or East which are much closer to Lewis than everybody else.  Camden has that to their advantage tonight.  11AAFan, Id like to see Camden string a few wins together.  It would make things interesting come tournament time.

  9. As we get ready to head down the home stretch, a few teams are playing really well.  This should be a fun month of basketball to watch play out.  I see Creek Wood, East, Lewis, and Stewart coming down to the wire here.  Especially if Stewart, East, and Lewis split.  The question is if anyone will knock off Creek Wood?

  10. Did not realize that.   I saw Cheatham at camp this summer without 2 of their starters and they were still tough.  i'm by no means saying they win at state but I do believe they will win their substate matchup and make it there.  Upperman will be a solid test for them to see where they are.  If they beat Upperman, they will be in good shape to make a run.
