Let's go ahead and get some opinions. What does the district look like this year?
-
Seems like everyone from White House always has a smart mouth huh
-
As good as Waverly offense can be at times, I don't see them being able to win this one.
-
Is Camden supposed to be that much improved Plugged? I know they were down last year and should be some better but if they beat Fairview, it will surprise me.
-
I fully expect Camden to be improved. However, I still don't think they can get over Fairview. Sycamore should be tough returning a good defense. I see Camden to crawl their way back up to third and might finish second. My surprise is Stewart Co. at 4. I think they sneak in and get that last playoff spot this year. They have a few pieces in place if things work in their favor. Cheatham lost a lot off of last years squad and could very easily end up at 4 but I think SC gets by them to place them at 5. Don't know much about Harpeth other than what has been said here,
Fairview
Sycamore
Camden
Stewart Co.
Cheatham
Harpeth -
High School coach can coach any kid that is not on their team currently. As far as high school is, I believe you can even get away now with playing more than 3 on a team as long as their high school coach is not coaching them.
-
Have the coach call TSSAA but I think you could probably work around that and become eligible.

Teams will not want to play Maplewood in the tournament. They are the 3 seed in 10AA. I watched them handle East Nashville Friday. 10AA is good athletic district, Maplewood has 2nd biggest team in AA (behind Westview) who is putting it together as of late. They lost to PC by 3 & 7, lost to East by 20+ and beat them Friday by 4 or 5 (if I can recall). They have a 6'3 - 6'2 - 6'4 -6''2 THAT START! They are long and athletic team that plays hard, defend well, and alter game plans. Be on the lookout for this team in the post season.
They might be big but I would say those numbers are a little elevated to make it look good on the roster

How good is Cumberland County. Hear a lot about the offense but not much about the defense
-
Boys games will be Tuesday. Girls game will be on Monday
-
With the win last night, Stewart Co. takes over the 1st seed. I imagine Creek Wood will still have a say in the final outcome but Stewart Co. appears to be playing some good basketball.
-
So what does everybody think now that we are almost half way through the district schedule? Creek Wood looks to be tough. They dropped one to a Stewart County team but it was played at SC. I look for that one to be close the second time around. Stewart Co. looks to be playing very well right now but still have two huge games with East and one with Creek Wood left. East looks to be able to compete with these previous two I've mentioned but I do not think they have enough to contend at the end of the day. Everyone else in the district I believe has to take a back seat to the top three but I could be wrong. We will see how these next three weeks play out.
-
Have not heard, I would assume that both games would be moved to tonight because none of the four teams were scheduled to play tonight.
-
Typical in today's society. It's always the coaches fault lol.
-
Stewart County at Fairview has been moved to Thursday
-
Well I do agree with his statement about guards. It might not all be about guards but they are vitally important to a team. Without guards, it doesn't matter how good your post is because they will never get the ball.
-
The Problem I have with most officials is the fact they act like they do not even want to be there. A lot of the officials we have working around here just want to come in and leave as quick as possible. Not saying I could do any better but its like a job, if you can't stand to show up and call a game, then why do they do it. That is what is frustrating. It is all about the check it seems like for a lot of them.

East HIckman and Stewart Co. both look pretty good early. Lewis and Creekwood could both get their names up there as well. Should be interesting to watch this play out over the next 2-3 months.
-
The boys could be very interesting to watch play out. I feel like almost everyone is fairly close to each other. I foresee a lot of close games as the year goes on.

Hickman County defeated Santa Fe. Unsure of score.
How did Hickman's girls look? Where you are the game? I expect them to have made some improvement this year.
-
I don't know if either team has anything for Beech which is who I assume they will play next. Henry Co. played them close the first time around. That game will be a good one if it plays out that way next week.

After the first night of hall of fame games,
East Hickman defeats Murfreesboro Central Magnet 41-32
Marshall Co. defeats Fairview 42-12
Lewis Co. defeats Hampshire 55-15
Henry Co. defeats Stewart Co. 55-40 -
I hear waverly's girls had a large number quit. Gonna be hard for them to finish top 4

Depends on what championship you are talking about. I don't believe anyone will go through Cheatham to get to the state.
