I m just curious of y everybody thinks the coach that left them high and dry for something better should be allowed to come back.   The now rising seniors is the ones he waked out on. Just my 2 cents.

I agree. I also know Greenback can move forward and do very well without Greg Ryan

  2. Ryan thinks Greenback is the only school out there that will hire him. He blew the interview at Eagleton and he not only wants the football job but also the AD job at Greenback. Just long enough till he can land a job at a bigger school.

  3. For most of these coaches Greenback is only a stepping stone for bigger and better school.
Ryan left for bigger school and more money and now he needs a place to restore his chance of getting another job and Greenback would be just temporary.

while he was there he tried to find another job at the end of every season.

  4. I told you vestal was going to leave if he had the chance. But to another school in the same system takes some brass. I don’t know  if the powers that be will let him!

if he does go who in the world would they get to take his place??

Leaving seems to be Vestal's track record.  He never stays anywhere for very long for some reason?  I think White is in a good fit at Tellico.    This is just my observation

Neither of them will be any better than they were this year.

Any chance he gets a look to come back and coach? Not sure what he is up to now

I would be very surprised if he did.  Don’t know if he would be allowed to bring in other schools players. He had players from at least 6 different schools while he was there.

  7. If the parents had been running the show at Greenback then Castile and Spafford would have been gone long time ago!!

parents were still very hesitant even now because Castile and spafford had them very afraid to say anything because he would hold it against their child. They were afraid the new principal might do the same.

Poor guy at Greenback was never given a chance. He’s been crucified since before he got hired.

It was a terrible hire that was never going to work. Castile and spafford should be ashamed for doing this to him!! One of the elite A programs in the state hired a head coach that was in charge of the weight room at Sweetwater. That would be like Alabama hiring the strength coach at UT to be the head football coach at Bama!! That in itself was an insult to the Greenback football program.

If everybody would rally behind the coach instead of scrutinizing him then I bet things will start improving.  How's the coach suppose to coach with that going on.  I would definitely give him one more year at the least!  You see what happen to Tennessee the past couple of decades with their impatients, they never gave any of the coaches time to settle in and prove their self.

You must be this coach or related to him!

Understandable but wasn’t 2020 an absolute train wreck as well?  That was a really bad team. I understand you guys are frustrated after 3 straight bad years. Question,.  Does this coach want to continue to coach at Greenback? Does anyone know?

Whether he wants to continue to coach is irrelevant. From what I hear he has already lost the confidence of the players and fans. He needs to move on.

The old saying is by the time you have seen 3 years you know what you’ve got. Most people get 3 years to implement and install their stuff. If he can’t get it done after year 3 then I’d say by all means move on to someone else.

When the first two years are an absolute train wreck!!!! There is no need for a third year unless you just want to pull the plug on the program!!!

Looking back it sounds this guy has never been given a chance. He was written off from the start with zero support. Was there a point when anyone ever bought into his beliefs? He went into a cess pool where nobody in the community wanted him. This was not very smart by him to enter himself into a no win situation without any type of support. I met him at Boyd Buchanan this season. Seemed liked an outstanding mentor of kids. He said all the right things anyway.

You take him at Boyd and send Rankin to GHS.

Since Bill Satterfield took GB over in 1985 and turned us into a 1A top 10 team year in and out we have never had 3 losing seasons in a row, well now we have and if this guys stays it will be 4.We cannot let this keep spiraling out of control.

This is the third place he has coached at and the results have been the same every time.
Sweetwater removed him and put him in the weight room. They were elated that Castile and spafford hired him at GHS.

Hopefully he’s at least helping these kids in the game of life. Are they winning at life? That’s what I’m curious about. Wins and losses are trivial when it comes to the big picture.

I can see it now. Son you and your team just got your rear handed to you tonight in the football game. But chin up we are undefeated in the game of life. LOL
