I agree with everything that has been said so far, and don't just end it there messi, because White House, WH-Heritage, Beech, Hume-Fogg, and MLK (2 of these) will have to play Nolensville, Page, Giles, or Central in the sub state rounds. So out of all of those teams, only 2 will make it to state. I would argue that you might have 4 or 5 of the best teams in the state bidding for 2 spots. What about any other teams East or West? Maybe Greenville or other teams? Once again, thanks for all of the posts in this message board. I love to hear about how teams are looking. BTW, playerscoach, I believe i saw that #19 played tonight for DCA against Clarksville Academy. Is this true, if so how did she look?

I wish that we would move to a rotating regional match-up where every year different districts would match up in the Region games. It hurts for travel, but it could allow a much better representation of quality teams in the sub state and state levels.

Springfield vs. Macon:   What a shame for Springfield.  Dominate  the game then get 2 players ejected and score a goal with 9 players.  Then 2 minutes later it's disallowed.  Officials quacked this one up bad.

Both players from Springfield and one from Macon were ejected for pushing.  Should have been yellows at most.

If the direct play of Springfield is "dominating the game," I guess so. They were certainly quick to attack. However, Springfield was extremely undisciplined and found themselves offside a ton! Both teams had opportunities to score, and Macon should have taken advantage of the 10 v 9 situation. Springfield's "goal" was disallowed because the Referee called the ball out of bounds prior to the shot, but Springfield's player ignored the call. It was the correct decision to disallow the goal. It was hard fought game between two talented teams.

WH smokes SHS.  Definitely ahead of the pack right now.

Yes District 9 AA is White House, and then a race for second place... They are really good. So far Beech, Springfield, and Macon are still in control of their own destiny. Heritage needs Springfield to lose a match to be back in contention. Greenbrier and Portland likely take up the 6 and 7 spots.

  4. Merrol Hyde played very well in the first half and did what had to be done to win. Central is a very talented team, but they should have closed it in the first half. Congrats to Hyde. I only wish it was Macon County instead of Hyde. The Hyde/Macon was a great game that both teams battled for 100 minutes. I always stress to my team when we play games with lightning likely to occur it is essential to win the first half as the game is official at that point if it's called.
