Going to be quite an adjustment for the folks at CC going from Justin Price's offense to the winged t.

That said, Campbell County has already lost a couple of its better players to AC and word is that several more are leaving.  If the offensive philosophy is going to change, now is the time to do it.

Pemberton knows the winged t like few others do.  If the kid buy in it might eventually work.

I heard 4 ended up at AC. Hensley the QB, The big tack Dorton and his brother, and the Carroll kid

I was wanting to know more about how to cancel and/or change flights - where did all those informative posts go?  Anybody figure out how West ended up with that last personal foul on the kneel?  That was almost funny.

The refs are pretty bad on both sides. I'm sure the Ref was probably making a point to West coach. They seemed to have an axe to grind on both sides the ball. That white is notorious for having short man syndrome

probably helps that you played an incredibly weak september schedule too.

Seems perfectly scheduled to me. Get hard games out of the way. Beatup on some Region opponents get confident. Beat a more athletic talented 5a team down the road from you. Use knox west as a measuring stick to see how your kids respond. Get 2 weeks to get healthy from Knox West before playing Gibbs, South Doyle games 9 and 10. Then a Sullivan East or North View Playoff week 1. Followed up by Greeneville or Etown Week 2 of playoffs.

No question.  Checkers vs. Chess.  Imagine if a good staff had all those dudes.  That game was won with leadership, chemistry, teamwork, effort and guts. Good showing by the mavs.  Is that 10 in a row now on the Drags?

I believe 2009 Clinton won regular season  then lost in playoffs that is the last win I know of.

AC crosses the Clinch River Thursday night for the cross town showdown. Two or three weeks ago, I might have thought this would be a close game.  Now, I just don't think it'll be that close. AC is starting to bang on all cylinders while Clinton's defense can't seem to force a 3 and out on decent teams. And the offense has trouble scoring on a decent defense.

    Sighhhh, Thoughts? Predictions?

Clinton has more talent, seniors, and depth. On paper they should outright win. AC has better coaches and scheme. But may not be enough to overcome the talent disparity.

It's a rivalry game so throw it all out the window

You're correct, BT. Lee is working with a few different programs, Bearden being one of them. I heard him talking about it on the Sports Animal a few weeks ago. I'm sure it's all part of promoting Triple F.

His son starts and plays for Bearden Im sure he is helping, but he is all over the place when it comes to Triple F. He probably comes to practice during Offensive/Indy period and coaches and helps out.

    Alcoa 42 - Bearden 14

  7. I think realistically no one thinks this Mav team will challenge for a State Title. They aren't bad but they don't really hold a candle to last year's team. If they get everything clicking on all cylinders they should win the region. I think 6-4 to 8-2 is a realistic expectation regular season. I also believe they make it to 2nd or 3rd round of playoffs.

I passed the McMinn County busses earlier on my way to Red Lobster in Oak Ridge.  They're on their way to Maverick Country.

Looks like Gillum is trying to get as much experience as possible. Bradley Central, Dobyns Bennett, McMinn, Stone Memorial Next Week

Still doesn't answer the question.  They are being sued for what?  Again a minor is not entitled to or owed anything from anybody.  What are the basis of the lawsuits?

I don't honestly know the answer to that or the legality of it all.

I'll just text a direct quote from a lawsuit in Florida

In January 2022, a class action lawsuit was filed in Miami-Dade County styled Sal Stewart v. Florida High School Athletic Association, Inc., Case No. 22-427 CA-01, which, in part, seeks declaratory relief and damages for Florida high school student-athletes.[2] The named Plaintiff, Sal Stewart, asserts that Florida high school athletes are exploited by the Florida High School Athletic Association (FHSAA) as to their prohibition against being compensated for the use of their NIL.[3] Namely, Stewart alleges the FHSAA’s bylaws are wholly disconnected from the interests of the “student athletes,” who are barred from receiving the benefits of competitive markets for their skills, talents, and services, which is inconsistent with principles of Florida antitrust law, and is unlawful and unconstitutional.[4]

The FHSAA, which is the governing organization for high school sports competition in Florida (consisting of over 800 member schools), is further accused of prohibiting high school athletes from entering NIL agreements because FHSAA’s “draconian” bylaws state that a student-athlete forfeits amateur status in a particular sport for one year by “[c]apitalizing on athletic fame by receiving money or gifts of a monetary nature.”[5] In its Motion for Class Certification on behalf of all Florida high school athletes who have been denied by the bylaw, Plaintiff further asserts that FHSAA Bylaw 9.9.2(c) expressly prohibits high school athletes from entering into endorsement agreements for a third party’s use of their NIL in exchange for monetary compensation even though the FHSAA generates significant revenue ($5.4 million for the 2020-21 high school years).[6] Further as it relates to the alleged unconstitutionality of the bylaws, Plaintiff maintains there are less restrictive arrangements that could meet FHSAA’s stated objectives.[7]

Sued on what basis?  Minors cannot even enter into a legally binding contract.

Florida students are suing their Athletic Association for conspiring with NFHS to prevent NIL. I typed in NIL, High School, and Sue and there are articles about litigation from around the country.
