NE is good yes but they are about where they should be. In fact I have no idea why HC isn't in the top 5. Thats insane. I guess in a few weeks we will be :)

Agree completely on Henry County. JK on Northeast. They are good, but I saw some vulnerabilities on defense.

I think Oak Ridge, Clarksville NE and South Doyle are too high. Beech/Henry County winner will move up.

This poll will be A LOT different in a few weeks.

I watched NE at Western Kentucky last Friday night. They may be too low.

Rumor at Downtown Commons is that #1 RB in Montgomery Co. and his younger brother have enrolled at NEHS.  Wow...bet that will light a fire!  Maybe NEHS & Rossview ought to be 1 big school, 9-10 at one school and 11-12 at the other.  Orr to NEHS and Scott to Rossview.  Consolidate the schools and city/county government all in one vote.

    That's Interesting. Would TSSAA allow?

  4. So, whats the deal at Rossview? Team was promising for several years. Last year they had lots of talent that under performed. Should have won the CHS game for sure, but that loss was on the new Coach IMO.  That's the only game I saw , but rumors have it the new staff didn't "mesh" well with what looked to be a really well coached team until last year. Now I hearing of many kids leaving, including their #1 back.  Shame to see this if it's true.

I think we bounce back from a bad, bad loss to Smyrna. I still have high hopes for the wildcats, but our coaches must get it together. We have the talent. My prediction: Wilson Central 17, Rossview 12.

Hmmmm... Sounds like Rossview and Wilson Central have the same issue.

  6. I'm new here. Looks like a great place to spar, vent and opine.

"Disclaimer" All opinions viewed here may be right or wrong, but they're still my opinion until someone can change my mind with a reasonable, unemotional argument.

I Have no dog in this fight, but I can't say last nights loss totally surprised me. This is always a strong rivalry and anyone can win any year. I will say CHS controlled the line all night. In addition, Hood was out coached last night. Shelby had his defense ready and it showed big time. Giving up an almost sure 3 points to go for 4th and 1 OUTSIDE did not look too good for Rossview. It would have been the game winner. Of course, ( IMHO) should have never come down to that to begin with. Rossview had more depth and talent, but that doesn't always win games.

We'll see if Hood lives up to his reputation.  I hope he is successful. He seems to have inherited talent, just needs to figure out how to use it. Let's all hope he does.

Shelby has his critics, but he has a successful resume as a head coach. He's had challenges at CHS, but seems to always come through for wins. Shelby came to CHS and never had a downhill record ( unless you count the ineligible player).  He is very good at adjusting his scheme to his players. Successful high school coaches have to since they don't get to pick the type of talent they are dealt.

CHS will surprise this year. All I've heard is how they were down. I think they go to the playoffs if they stay healthy and Coach Shelby keeps them motivated. I'll pick them #3 in their region behind Henry County and Northeast

Rossview will struggle to win games unless some changes are made. This same Rossview team beat a better ( or at least equal)  CHS team last year like a drum. Don't recall the score, but it was a drumming. The only thing that's changed is a new Coaching staff. Shame if they don’t compete.

Hope I get to check out Northeast/Kenwood next week.
