They finished 5th 2 years ago I think-they def made the gold.  I could be wrong. But this group is way way more talented.  I honestly loved this TPV team.  Best LIb, OH and setter in the state. The other OH and RS were so fun to watch.  I just want TN volleyball to show up.  I want all our clubs to be better.  I was too critical earlier.   I really Though they were a top 6 team in this tournament.  I didn’t get to a lot of the alliance teams this year but they are not strong.   The 16 team had maybe 1-2 legit ones players on It.  A very weak team.  I thought the 15s had a chance to be better.  Overall. I feel the alliance teams finished where they should.  They are average at best skill wise.

Their chemistry will be different next season since Morgan just relocated to Texas.  She will be hard to replace.

Alliance got a lot of work to do if they want to compete in Open in any age group.

Time to kick the dust off this thread... TT, I looked for an AAU schedule for you guys, couldn't find it. Am I missing it, or not out yet?

Also, are the Alliance / TPV 18's teams done?

Alliance 18-2 and TPV's 18's are going to Orlando.  The schedule is out.

Been saying that team was the real #1 18's team. My concern about the other group was that it was constituted to look good in warm-ups and on paper, but once the whistle sounded, I thought they would have first contact challenges.

Having said that, I am surprised that they've struggled as much as they have. Took a quick look at AES just now, and I can't find a single result to be proud of.

I agree.  18-1 was set up to look good on paper and warm-ups and now they are paying the price.

I've been traveling a lot for work and haven't been able to post much.

I have talked to several people about the current travel volleyball environment in middle Tennessee and they are under the same impression as most of us:  TPV will be the "go to club" within in two years, maybe next year.  Parents are not happy with how things are going and have already reached out to TPV about next year.  This years migration of players along with the head to head results have caught the attention of several parents across all age groups who were not open to changing in the past.  Will certainly be interesting to see what happens

I'm glad we've aged out.  I do agree with the impression though.

If TPV backs up what they told those girls (different way of training, a tougher TPV schedule), there will be an even larger exodus to TPV next year.  It's up to Dan and his team to deliver because the spotlight just got brighter.

It was going to be a larger exodus anyway after seeing so many high profile girls leave.  I think that caught many people by surprise.

Congrats to TPV, who added some important older kids. They have enough pieces in place now to win at the Open level, and maybe even field the best 16s and 18s teams in the state.  Practice started this week, which also means these teams should be ahead of the rest in those early January / February events.

    That's good news.

What I think I have learned with Camden is, people can have more talent than them, but the key to beat them is to not commit errors, or hurt yourself in any way. If you can keep from doing that, and you have some talent then I personally believe you can beat Camden. I mean I believe, outside of setter and coaching, that Portland, Hume-Fogg, and Nolensville probably had more talent than Camden, but make a lot more errors than them when they play. My gut had been telling me that the finals would be Portland and Knox Catholic again, because if those teams don't make errors against Camden, then I think they can beat them. Now don't get me wrong, i have a TON of respect for Camden, and I do think they are VERY GOOD, So I can definitely be wrong here. That is just my opinion.

I agree.  The key to beating Camden is to minimize errors.  Their coach have them locked in and they come to play.

I could be wrong but it seems like this AA bracket might have a handful that can make a run.  Not sure what KC looks like, but I know they are typically so good.  Pulling for Camden!

    I'm pulling for Camden too...
