Classy post Tigerfan!! I agree with you, the Cavaliers had a great run and had a tremendous season!! Nothing to hand your heads about.

I think our guys are hungry after losing to the eventual state champion last year on a couple of blown plays!! Hope we can make it there and see what we can do!!

I believe you guys will have a chance at the Gold Ball.  I know the East TN fans won't agree but I, for one, would find it hard to believe that any program in 4A would be better than this years Tomcats team.  Here's a Cavalier fan hoping you guys bring that championship back to West TN!

Coaches coach...fans post on message boards

you gave the reasoning in your post bud...CC didn’t lay down...did CC pull their starters??? They were down 28 and pulled within 7...Hookfin would be fired on the spot for allowing that to happen a 2nd time in the same game...Haywood was also playing for the top seed in their quad

It wouldnt matter if the Tomcats won by 3...if they beat the Cavs a few years in a row, you can bet the farm that they’ll run the score up on Haywood given the chance

Haywood has plenty to work on if they want to play for a championship, game situations are better than practice

Yes I understand a team has "things to work on" if they want to play for a championship but your starting running back who has already scored 4 TD's in the game and is either at or near 200 yards for the game, runs in for a 5th TD on the second string....what's he working on there?

  3. It would be hard to say.  I haven't seen Covington play in quite a while but it's obvious from the results of the games played that they have a very good football team.  How will the kids from Crockett Co. respond after their first loss of the season?  Like I said in a previous post, Haywood has a very strong, fast and athletic football team and although the results don't show it, the Cavaliers actually trailed in that game 35-7 in the 2nd qtr but they did not lay down.  They scored 3 unanswered TD's to get to within 7 points at 35-28 before Haywood pulled away.  I think the Cavaliers will bounce back and the coach's will have them ready to go.  I hope it's a good, injury free football game and good luck to both teams in the playoffs in their respective classes.

  4. Haywood has a very good team no doubt about that.  Crockett Co. didn't lay down after getting down 35-7 and actually got it to 35-28.  One thing I didn't understand though....why did Haywood keep it's starters in with very little time left up 3 TD's?  Did they just want to rub salt in the wound?  I was really surprised Hookfin did that.  From the looks of things, Haywood will be strong for several years to come but karma is real.

I'm surprised it had been a while since a team from that part of the state won it.You never know when a school that nobody factors in  will jump up and win five games when the playoffs start. The last several years  doesn't mean squat this year.I don't have a clue as to how Greeneville or AC could match up with the best from middle and west Tennessee.Nobody knows who will stay healthy either and that can change the picture for anyone.

So true.  I know nothing about the teams from Middle TN.  I know Marshall Co. has been stout the past few years, I assume from the AP Poll they are still pretty good although it's hard to put much stock in the AP Poll.  The last few regular season games could either solidify the poll or shake it up entirely.  Time will tell.

  6. I must say that have I have really enjoyed reading some of the threads on here.  I'd say to this point the most enjoyable ones have been the banter between the greeneville and ac fans.  Whenever I need a laugh I pull those up.  Good stuff.  I also enjoyed the thread that carried over to the NC boards before the Pisgah game.  Now, let me state...I guess according to these boards I would be considered "trolling" as I am a football fan but I am from West TN.  I found it particularly amusing to read how that ac fan stated that in his opinion the ac quarterback is the best in the state...lol, like he's seen all of them to make that comparison.  Anyway, It is always an unknown come playoff time.  We know the history of dominance from the teams from the east but just last year it was Memphis metro teams that made statements in Cookeville.  Should be interesting to watch it play out.
