Eaat has been a great shooting team all year.

Yeah that’s clear they’re a good shooting team.  I’m just saying sycamore plays elite defense and they’re night and day a different team from when they met in November. Should be closer than many think a result either way won’t surprise me. They held maplewood to a season low 36 points

I dont see it. I got east by 15 or more.

I think people are underestimating sycamore but you could be right. Daniel Saylor the 6”10 kid has been playing stellar ball on offense and defense it’s gonna be hard for them to score inside. If East wins it’s because of their shooting and ability to create turnovers , if sycamore wins it’s because they can slow down the game, disrupt shots, play good defense, and make shots when they need to. Both good teams and East’s probably deeper but don’t underestimate sycamore imo they’re confident after a good win against maplewood.

Sycamore may have a shot. Maplewood is has limited scoring options. Their best player is a freshman who will need to carry the scoring load on the road in a hostile environment.  Sycamore also have a 6'10 kid (I heard)  that will contest and alter shots. I have sycamore winning this one.

Agreed. It’s gonna be a tough game. If Maplewood decides to take Daniel the 6”10 gout out of the game then sycamore has plenty of other scoring options to win. Gonna be the game to see on Saturday night! Anyone else gonna be there to watch?

Looks like Hume Fog beat Maplewood last night. Sadly not setting up very well for district 9-AA IMO. District 10 sweep regardless of what happens tonight.

You don’t think Sycamore would have a chance against Maplewood? I think it’ll be a good game especially since sycamore will be hosting. Sycamore plays elite defense and slows down the game at their pace.

He won the district 3 yrs straight from 2013-2016. Maybe lost 2 district games in that time frame. And then 3 out of the last 4 years he has upset a higher seeded team.

He packed it in on Sycamore and almost got them once losing by 2. I would assume more of the same.

Harpeth had the right idea yesterday just didn’t get it done. 5 shooters and make Big boy come guard and he didn’t yesterday. Harpeth post players hit atleast 6 3’s. Still trying to figure out how sycamore won only scoring 3 points the entire 4th.  Game was 36 to 32 after 3 quarters and ended 39 to 35.

Sycamore plays elite defense! That’s what keeps all their games close it seems! Tuesday night will be a fun exciting atmosphere! Gonna be close either way. You can’t underestimate cheatham! It’s hard to beat a team three times

  6. If there’s any upsets tonight in district 10 that would help sycamore in region play if they can win the district championship. Sycamore would probably face Hume fogg first round and then East second round unless there’s an upset which would help sycamores chances even more. The key to sycamores success goes through pg #13, SF#35 and of course the post #45 gonna be interesting!

So much for turning the season around,White House just lost to Westmoreland in 1st round. Season over. Nobody in this district can win the region imo, Sycamore might win 1 game but I just don’t see them winning more than that.

That is insane. Gotta give Westmoreland credit. I agree it’ll be hard for Sycamore or any other 9-AA team to win more than a game in region but just like we saw tonight anything can happen come tournament time! Good luck to the rest of the teams in the district tourney!

How does district 9 match up against district 10 this year?

Not very good imo. District 10’s top teams pearl Cohn and East Nashville are better than sycamore and White House but who knows honestly. I expect these four to be the 1&2 seeds in the region. I think sycamore would have the best chance of upsetting a district 10 team in the region quarters or semis because of their size, but White House is a good sound team as well. Both teams have a chance anything can happen! It would be nice to see a district 9 teams go to sectionals!

And doing it without their post player was even more impressive. The other 2 post players stepped up big time. White House to me is the most talented team in the district.

I agree that White House win was impressive. I still think Sycamore is the better team but it’s closer than I thought.  Sycamore had too many turnovers to beat White House especially from the 6”10 guy. I’ve been at almost all of sycamores games and if they’re clicking on all cylinders they’re hard to beat. The thing is that never happens. Usually one or two guys carrying the team, they need a team effort to win district this year. Btw my brother is #35 for Sycamore.

  10. Sycamore got drilled tonight at Pearl Cohn. Typical Region routine sweep for the 10AA side. Maybe just maybe next year we will catch a win or two in the region lol. Good season to all! Any favorites for next season? Sycamore will return 3 out of 5 starters. Not sure about anyone else.

  11. Saylor 45 for Sycamore wins MVP which he deserves. Interesting to see all the matchups I don’t truly like anyone winning a game in region from 9AA. Sycamore gets a bad matchup with Pearl Cohn. Heritage could have a chance against Maplewood. Harpeth has no chance to win their game imo. And White House will be forced to play East lol.

  12. It will be a battle at the top between sycamore and White House. I think sycamore edges them out bc sycamore can play defense they have a legit 6 “8 rim defender and are deeper. White House always can shoot and I’m excited to see this transfer you guys are talking about.

Tunderwood EN can shoot just fine. MLK played well at the end of the year and Stratford has been top 5 for awhile. Sounds to me like your a sore loser.

Congrats to Stratford and Coach Reed. Hate it for EN.

Nah I'm not a sore loser lol I'm just basing it off what I saw the one night they played. Just puzzles me how East went 30-2 and didn't make it to the region finals. My team lost early in regions fair and square. Yeah I keep hearing that east can shoot but like i said before that district plays elite defense and has great transition offense. Props to them for sweeping 9AA.

Well maybe tunderwood 5 was right. East just got eliminated by strattford. Man 30 and 2 and done for the year.

Yeah I knew that team couldn't shoot at all. Their defense only got them so far.. I don't know how they went undefeated for so long kinda blows my mind. Ready for next season now lol

  15. You guys can't sit here and tell me that they're that great. From what I watched from East Lit and Sycamore. They're all defense and most of their points come from transition. They cannot shoot worth a dang. It sucks we have to play these teams every year, they're just super athletic and quick. Sycamore should be atop the district next year for sure. #45 is a man
