Not sure, but what does it matter? They stomped us into a mud-hole, that's all I'm worried about.

Doesn't matter much. Just seems the Rebels like to talk a lot when putting a pounding on someone. But let the rolls Reverse, and its crickets

  2. I think next yr is wide open on the East side of the state in 5A. Fulton would be the 1st name that comes up. But they are extremely SR heavy. I can only think of maybe 2 or 3 starters that's returning. That's on both sides of the ball. OR will have some holes to fill. But the athletes are their, the QB has a bright future. My early pick for 5A in this area would be. Central

Well you are comparing apples to oranges BB. Knoxville Catholic has no zone so why complain about OOZ. Why not take a look at your school. Giving people breaks on tuition/aid that aren't Catholic, the not making them pay it back. Telling football players to go back to the public school they are zoned for after football season is over to save tuition money. Work out with the public school team during winter, then don't participate in spring practice, then go back to Catholic for next football season. How about this after their senior year is over, just go back to the public school you are zoned for to guraduate and save some more money. Who cares about the mission of the school. I thought it was to get a Catholic Education.

SMFH! Where in the heck do you people come up with this ####? Hopefully you're not as ignorant as your post makes you out to be. Please Please Please tell me the football player/athlete you'd be referring to....

  4. That was one of the best high school football games I've seen. #8 for OR is the real deal. Glad my Irish boys have that "never die, never quit" attitude. Yes in the 2nd half our OL and DL took over the game.  It was shame someone had to lose. Only negative about tonight was. The field was awful. Apparently there was a pipe busted under the field. Which made around the 30yrd line a mud pit. I heard OR is going turf next yr. Hopefully that happens.

  5. IMO this game will again be won up front on both sides of the ball. I have to give the edge to the Irish after watching OR on film. But OR brings a lot of pressure with the LB's. If the Irish OL can protect, might be a long night for the Wildcats. OR has some good skilled kids. Hopefully the Irish can keep them in check. It might just be me. But OR read option plays seems to take to long to develop.

Skill  positions are definitely improved since we played you with the return of Jancek and Jones. Both have made huge contributions on both sides of the ball the last two games.

Dont forget about Thompson. Don't think he played in the RC game either. He's back to full health. #1 Freshman RB I think almost broke the single game rushing record against RC.

  7. IMO the key to a Irish win. Will be for the Irish D to hit and pressure Fultons QB early and often. He seems to struggle with accuracy when pushed out of the pocket. If the Irish D let's the QB sit back in the pocket, he'll pick them apart. And Stop #2, he's as good of an athlete making something out of nothing as I've ever seen. The Irish should win the battle up front on both sides of the ball. Now that the Irish are at full health. The Irish definitely has some mismatch opportunities in their favor in the passing game. Fulton has a few weak links in their pass Defense. So IMO its all about match ups and can the Irish get the right match up on the right play call. If so 31-21 the Irish.

This was an absolutely terrible pillow fight by both teams. I see zero fire in most of the kids playing on our side of the ball. You can’t play this game without passion and a fire inside you. I saw a few that had it inside them tonight, but most don’t. Congrats to CAK on the win. That said, CAK is a really bad team. You fill in the blank on where we are.

The blank must say. GCA is a really really bad team right now that's not playing hard due to the coach. There's a little bit of talent over there. But word is that most kids have lost interest due to Coach Bradley and his coaching style. Word also is Coach Bradley is looking for a way out of GCA. If the kids don't like the coach, kids won't play for them. If this is true, what would the fix be?

  9. Congrats and great win for the Rebels. Hope you guys have a great season. We just couldn't get it going on Offense. Had the ball 3 times inside the 10yrd line and couldn't punch it in. Not going to win many games like that. #55, #79, and #78 for Catholic was opening up some huge holes. But some reason we went away from their side on several key 3rd and short downs. Just the passing game was not there tonight. It was great to see the respect both teams had for each other. Helping each other up after the play was over with tap on the helmet. Several players talking it up on the field after the game.

I work with several Alcoa parents, they felt West was a much tougher scrimmage than Catholic, their linebackers were tough to deal with. Alcoa ran through Catholic, as Catholic's coach said in post-scrimmage interviews.

Maryville's offense was supposed to be rebuilding after having  several seniors move on, but put up big numbers on Friday against OR. Fulton looked very good against a senior loaded, defending state champion Greeneville (Yah, I know 4A vs 5A, Greeneville would beat 90% of the 5A teams right now)

    1. Fulton   2.West   3.OR   4. Powell (Matt Lowe will get them in the playoffs)

Fulton in semi-finals against Central/SD......at Fulton

Don't mean to step on toes, just my opinion!

In the Alcoa scrimmage. Catholics starting skilled players only played 11 snaps. #1 and #2 Wr only touched the ball once each. So not much to gage off that. Matthews isn't trying to win a scrimmage. He's trying to see if he has backups that can play. Not saying we might not struggle this yr at times. We only have 3 starters from last yrs offense returning this yr and their all Lineman. But 3 really good lineman. I know what Matthew's said about the scrimmage. But the starting OL had their way with Alcoas DL and LB. Mccallies DL and LB core is full of power 5 offer kids. Catholic scrimmage then yesterday and the OL shut them down. No sacks, No TFL. Cant wait for the season to start. Good luck to all the teams this yr.

  11. The Irish lineman more than held their own. In team and 1 on 1's. This wasn't a let's see who wins scrimmage. This was a let's work on what we're not doing good thus far. The Irish only ran a few plays to get some work in against a good Alcoa team. The Irish will be just fine this yr. Good luck to Alcoa this yr..

Glad to hear it about your young RAMS! As far as trying to go 5A, well, we’d fare about as well in 5A as Catholic is going to do in DII-AAA.......not very well. Good luck to the Atomic City Wildcats this season.

Hey Pride glad that you can't get that evil school out west off your mind. For some odd reason this song reminds me of you...
