No because we have Coach Brooks, who is a great guy, but not the guy who will take us to the promise land.

Basketball team has a great coach and look at them, winning titles.

Brooks took ER from being the doormat in the region to winning it in just one year lol.... I'm not sure what else you are wanting.. I would love for him to leave ER though so if you can get him out keep on!!!

Why are West Moreland and Liberty Creek open zoned?  So Sumner County is not “truly” closed zoned.  What’s going to happen in Sumner County with the school choice program that the State of Tennessee has proposed?

Westmoreland isn't anymore. I believe that all stopped when covid hit.

    Saw someone make a R6 thread so I’ll start a R3 one

    6. Jackson Co

I sure hate seeing SC in this region lol... I think you switch Westy and TC and you are spot on... I can't speak for everyone else but Westy will be young this upcoming season and needs to have a really good off season in the weight room... and TC will be better you can bank on that! They will have some new faces on the team this year no doubt about it!

Robertson county isn’t open zoned right now

They are big chief, ER has a couple really good baseball players that are out of zone... Not that I blame them for wanting to come to East, I would want to play for Coach Wix too if my other options was Springfield, WH or Jo Byrns lol! Sumner had the same policy Robertson has now about 3 or 4 years ago.

There’s a reason teams run the offenses they do. The spread works will if you have the kids to do it on a consistent basis. The problem is you do have to have athletes. I can tell you from coaching against it and watching it several times, without having athletes it’s not hard to defend. You can have all the guys in routes that you want, but if they’re not athletic enough to get separation, it doesn’t matter. If the QB can’t hit them, same thing. Pass blocking… same thing. It takes different kids to be able to do it. No disrespect, but Westmoreland typically doesn’t have that kid or at least to the level to run that offense and make a deep run. They win by being methodical and consistent.

Yea you right! I know why we run it, I just don't like it lol!!

I will agree with you on this! Our offense in my honest opinion is outdated. I really feel we need to start running a spread type Offense like tyner. It’s hard to cover all those receivers even if they aren’t the greatest athletes like tyner has. It also opens the run up because the defensive coordinator has to add more d backs

I'm with you, I hate the wing t

Kam was a heckuva a an athlete! He’s a great young man as far as attitude as well. He will light you up hitting to! That maybe what I loved the most! You know how bad I will miss these guys! I’ve watched the seniors every since junior pro.

Big M got after it too! A leader on and off the field!

Tyner gpt the win tonight. Give them credit. Westmoreland needed to play a perfect game with some help from Tyner.  It didnt hapoen. But one game doesn't diminish the big strides this core group of Seniors made this year. We improved from 3 wins last year to 7 this year with a first round home playoff win.  More importantly i think these guys laid the ground work in showing the underclassmen what it takes to win.

Especially proud of my grand son Kam Eden #14. He had a great year at QB and corner back. He had 1000+ yards rushing with 15 TDs and  8 TD passes running a wing T offense.  He also had 3 interceptions at corner and some notable "big hits".  Most proud of his character, he has heard me make comments about play calling, offensive scheme etc. that i didnt like but the young  man has reminded me that instead of complaining about things, do your best to make them better.  I know he's  hurting right now but well done son, you made yourself into a ball player

Going to miss Kam for sure. Players like him are rare, lay it all on the line every game both sides of the ball and never ask for a break. Couldn’t think of a better person to represent the program and lead the team. Great kid on and off the field. Excited to watch him on the court as he will be the leader there as well.

This group of seniors has been anticipated for years. Going to be hard to replace some of the leadership, and toughness that will be leaving with this class. I’m excited to see what they do in the future, and excited about the new standard they set for the future members of the program!

The big question is gonna be ER’s defense. I have seen them play lights out at times and I’ve seen them get gashed at other times. They make a lot of substitutions on defense, and play some younger kids in the secondary. I expect this game will be different in that regard. I think the biggest producers on offense will see a lot less of the sideline Friday night. That’s 2A ball though. One matchup I’m eager to see is #4 Shaun Groves guarding the Ruffin kid for Tyner (apologies if that’s not correct spelling). Groves has multiple FCS offers and is great in coverage. Ruffin seems to be a house call threat every time he touches the ball.

Agree. I don’t think their defense can handle this Tyner offense, hopefully they prove me wrong though!

  10. As much as I’d like ER to shock the world and I hope they do to represent our region, Tyner will be way too much for them… I can guarantee East hasn’t seen an offense like this all year. Even though I think Tyner wins easy I think there’s something to be said for the season East has had this year. Congratulations to Brooks and the ER boys, heck of a year! I’ll be there, sadly rooting for the Ndiuns!!

I think the ole ball coach for Meigs underestimated our Dline because of their size Friday night and it bit him on that 4th an 1 on the 8. Many many times in life youll Learn it’s not the size of the dog but it’s the size of the fight inside the dawg!

That’s right! Our line played really good last night! Especially to play both sides of the ball for 4 quarters… DAWGS!

I don’t know about all that. You guys came out and kicked our butts in the first half, but we handed you 7 points on a play call that I’m still trying to figure out. The second half we came to play. We had a good chance to win the game on our last drive, #9 was taking  over and getting big yards, then a young player lost his cool and it’s cost us. I thought it was a good game against two evenly matched teams.

I think what he’s saying is we gave you 45 yards in penalties for one of your TDs and then the other TD from 5 easily could have been called back for taunting and it almost bit him in the butt when we knocked it out of his hand while he was being cute…. Watertown would have beat East Robertson had they had our refs last night that didn’t call the taunting.
