    I met some of these boys this year at a game middle school game. Several of them were working the press box. Great group of young guys.  I left there a fan of those boys. They have character and the flicker in their eyes as they talked about football. It's been a long time since I've seen such an incredible group of young men.     Now as far as the season of football goes. I agree with Postman. I have no kid on that field,  if I did I would not be happy with the coaching these boys have been given. First off, NO EXCITEMENT the coach would have been fired where I come from for that very first game. Coaches have to get teams hype and motivated,  these coaches act like they at a funeral the whole game, nobody gonna get pumped with them coaches. I looked up this coach past season record and was shocked thinking, he gets paid to coach and hasn't done any better than this year in all his years of coaching. I have no idea why they are keeping him around as a coach. Probably has a buddy in the administration, no other place would keep him to even coach peewee.  The only reason West has done as well as they against other teams  is because they have great players who are trying to do whatever it takes to WIN with little offensive help from their coach,  actually he is killing them. I see a team who has played a tough schedule and have a coach who gave up on them in the ER game these boys are exhausted from being beat up and the coach not helping them. If that was my kids coach after ER game I would have been talking with administration about getting him out , you don't teach kids to quit. He has players who can do more but doesn't use them and refuses to throw a ball unless it's when it is either a last resort end of the game or not needed, which is why Whitehouse got a safety on them.  Spread out the offense, bud and put the players in that play the spot the best not those who can't. Postman is right about he guys on the line, they have to get 1st man, this team is not going to win the big games EVER when having linemen let someone go and trying to get the 2nd guy.  They are doing what they are told to do but it's Killin 'em. Last 2 games especially when a coach sees a team has everyone stacked in a box and doesn't make any adjustments,  it's almost like he is wanting to lose or knows nothing about the game. Backs need practice running a ball and holding on to it, that along with the play calling killed them against ER. Whitehouse made adjustmentslike a coach should and won. What I'm seeing with West is a  coach who don't seem to care much about his team. 

    You are right, really good group of kids. 

     

    On the coaching side of things though, I'm curious.... Do you really think anybody would spend the amount of time a HC has to spend and not try and win? I can deal with someone disagreeing with a coaches play calling or personnel or even schemes but I just have a hard time believing anyone would put that much time into something and not want to win....

    Can the Eagles secure a home playoff appearance Friday or will they stay on the struggle bus? 

     

    Personally I think it can go two ways.... We can come out and walk all over an ok football team like we should, or we can come out like we have the past two weeks, soft and dead and lose to yet another team we should beat.... If you go back and watch the WH game there are several things we have to clean up that shouldn't be happening this late in the year.... Blocking; awful job upfront last Friday, I'm not sure if WH was just that much stronger than us or what but it was bad. Getting up field; I'm not sure what makes backs think that dancing around and running side to side is going to get us anywhere but it drives me nuts! We have to start turning the ball up!! I know this is a unfavored take but to me the play calling isn't the issue, several missed opportunities if we just make the right cuts, turn the ball up and stop getting blown off the ball. 

     

    Last thing and my rant is over, can anyone tell me why our players help up the other team all night long but our QB (who is a workhorse btw) picks his self up again and again after we let him get hit? I'm all for helping the other guys, I love the sportsmanship but I don't know that I've seen a single one of our players pick Kam up all year.

    I'll be honest I think the pressure was too much for our boys... They come out flat, and didn't have the energy or intensity that they have had all year (4 fumbles didn't help either lol)... almost like they were scared if I'm being honest... After talking to some of the guys a big problem was people were being selfish when they haven't been all year, one of the seniors exact words were "we have played as a team all year and then all of a sudden we got selfish and half of us started trying to be coach instead of doing our job and playing". He didn't name any names but you could tell something was off. Either way its over, learn from it and mov e forward! Ready to see the boys get back on track tomorrow!

    Other than Smith Co. they look to be bigger than anyone else we have faced but don't seem to be no where near as good as SC... Depends who shows up Friday... I don't know if the title of last weeks game was just too much for our guys or what but that was definitely the worst we have played all year, look for a hungry team to show up this Friday to get back in the swing of things. Eagles by a touchdown or two.

    Hmmmmmm... the only 3 that get to touch the ball that would hurt West by not being there is 20, 19, 16 and they don't let them touch it enough or they would have a scary offense. Hoping to see 27 touching the ball in this game. If he does and is as good as last year, he'll be getting some looks not D1 but he definitely has potential to go somewhere.  

    18, 25, and 19 are all going to the Vols game, it’s confirmed! So looks like some of the younger guys will have to step up! WHAT A SHAME! We will see what happens tomorrow!

Good play calling and a solid RB is what West offense is missing.  #27 was a solid RB last season why has he not touched the ball? He plays on defensive.  

    TSSAA said that he couldn’t run the ball this year because it wouldn’t be fair! Smh ain’t that a shame?

    I'm late the party and I might eat crow on this one but I don't think this one is even close.... I think schedules really have some of us fooled and it showed last week. 

    I will say that its obvious ER is better than they have been, and wayyyyy better coached but I just don't see it being enough. Can they take being hit in the mouth over and over and over and over and over...... and over all night long? We will see I guess! Hard to judge when TC is the worst they have ever been in history and H20 not being near as good as they have been... Only one way to find out, can't wait for next Friday!!!
