Johnson City Press has Knoxville Central 33 David Crockett 28

Does this surprise anyone?? JC press is just mad SH is outta the playoffs. They had more coverage about SH losing than us winning last week.

In Big games this year, who has picked us to win?? Yeah No one, thats ok. Win or Lose, this team has left it on  the feild all year, i expect nothing less Friday night either.

Safe travels to everyone heading to Knoxville, Go Pioneers

No your completely missing my point. Of course we’d crush TSD. All I’m saying is every team has good players, some have great players. So far the teams we’ve played in the playoffs both have had a couple of great players. Fortunately for our sake, Central has MULTIPLE great players and many good players. And not to mention probably the best staff around coaching them. But no team in the playoffs, especially Rd 3 needs to be taken likely is all I’m saying. I’m curious to see how we do in practice this week in preparation for this game.

Not as much from you but the rest of the Central faithful, we might as well stay in Jonesborough. But whats new, we have played the underdog for over half the season. Yeah we only dress around 38 kids, and we have a coaching staff thats only been together 7 months, o and the head coach and offensive cor. Ages dont add up to but 46 years.

It will be an Honor to watch our young men take the feild, in the 3rd round of the playoffs. Something that No one thought possible, Our Conference Champs, that No one though possible, undefeated regular season, that No one though possible. Iam Pulling for a bunch of young men who have been thru so much, if ya dont know the story of last year, have someone tell you just what these kids went thru.

Good Luck Pioneers, Praying for both teams to be injury free as well. Safe travels Pioneers

I can't speak for now but if I remember correctly 10 years ago DB had close to 24 "coaches". I think a few were "volunteers". I just remember going to watch some of the practices and thought what a distraction that has to be.

Dang, they had as many coaches as Crockett has players lol. DC dressed 37 kids last night, not counting special teams, they may play 18-20 kids. Numbers are down this year but hope they start trending upwards.

Don’t go blaming the refs ! If anything there were definitely some home cooking ! Like the imaginary false start on DC when we had a sack for a 20 yard loss on bad snap then all of sudden they-call false start As soon our players get to the QB, or the illegal procedure when we were on the 2 yard line and the refs couldn’t even tell us who was lined up wrong, the no call pass interference in the 2nd quarter that would have been a touchdown. These are just the ones that stick out, oh yea and all the sideline warnings and penalties when our players were against the fence ! And it rained on our side too

They were very wishy washy all night, like the 1st play of the game, flagged for 12 men on the feild, there were 11.

Like the fair catch call, there was no fair catch signalled, and the sideline was open for a big gain.

Like they finally called the chop block while engaged. They did at least 4 times B4 they called it.

So yeah it went both ways

Indeed it could be Blazer. I watched a little film on Crockett last night and as I thought they do have a great QB and very good WRs. They do have one major flaw at least in the film I saw but if they can fix it, they can beat ANYONE. I’m not looking ahead though, I’m focusing on Cocke Co.

Every team has flaws, some teams mask them better than others. That being said DC is the most complete team i have seen so far. IMO, numbers hurt them more than anything. But them kids play till they have to be dragged off the feild.

Those are some good points, but let's not mix 2 things:

    1)  Pulling for your team to win
    2)  Predicting the outcome of a game

Just because an individual thinks another team will win against his team does not mean he is not still supporting his team and pulling for them to win, it just means that given a particular game he feels that team A has a better shot at beating team B regardless of how he HOPES it turns out.

So, with that said, we could go back to probably September and find a post where I predicted Crockett to be 10-0, and it has happened.    I have also predicted that Crockett will win against Halls next week.   Final prediction, Gibbs will win against Boone.   I don't LIKE that last one but that's how I think the game will turn out.    I would LOVE to be wrong and see the Blazers win, so we will see in a week.

Give ya props on the 10-0 for DC. But IMO i think Boone will give Gibbs all they want. I have seen both teams, and Gibbs has gotten better as the year has went on. Could be the fastest game in the state the way both teams like to run the ball. Iam going to say Boone 24-21.

Boone better against the run than the pass, so should be a good one.

DC has my respect they look awesome on film and have a great team this year ! They look as a good or better than any team Halls has faced this year ! My boys will have to play the game of their life to have a chance in this game

Thanks, this Community thinks they are pretty good as well, cant wait till Friday night. Safe travels to Jonesborough

Appreciate the vote of confidence for Boone, but we have been to this point so many times and walked away disappointed.....   I'll have to be from Missouri on this one.   Plus I have some inside info that can't be shared publicly....   I say Gibbs takes it.

Ok, all year you keep saying ya know something, but cant say. Well we are 10 games in, and unless the QB and Cole are moving to Alaska this week, they will be just fine.

Very good team over at boone, they play hard and never give up. Whats even more sad is that you are not giving these kids from Washington County, on either side not much of a chance. People have been doubting DC all year, Boone sitting at 8-2, and ya still dont give them any chance.

    Are you a Fan.

Get behind your team, these are 14-17 you g men who needs your support, not your negativity.

I wonder about Crockett myself. Word is they have a great QB and some very good receivers. I still say Central in the semis...and I hope it's at the 'Ship!

We do have so.e good athletes and QB, top wr is 40 yrds from a 1,000. QB is less than 200yrds from 3,000.

We have a new coach, the youngest in the state (25). This team was 5-2 last year B4 coach was fired. Went 0-4 after that.

New coach and his staff has done a Great job with these young men. Few in numbers but Large in Heart and Talent. We have played Campbell Co., Gibbs, and Seymore from that end. Boo e and Tn. High who were both ranked in top 10. Just looking forward to seeing  how we match up in the playoffs. Good luck to all teams

What is the deal with all of these teams moving there games up to Thursday night because the forecast is for RAIN on Friday night? Why? What for?

Is it because the school administrators are worried about losing money? Here is SE TN there is a greater chance of rain on Thursday evening then on Friday asper the National Weather Service. The updated forecast calls for 100% chance of rain on Thursday night compared to 40% on Friday.

I cant stand Thursday night high school football. It messes up the rest of the week! Thursday night is college / NFL football....then Friday night is high school....Saturday is college....Sunday is the NFL then Monday night is JV and freshman plus NFL.

FRIDAY is the day the Lord set aside for high school football.  This is also the 11th commandment that Moses brought fourth for all to live by.

Bingo, $$$$$. Its all about the Benjamin's.

  11. A Classic game, made more special by the Student beating the Teacher.

DC defenses held cole pretty much in check but the 1 bug run. He had 176 yrds on 22 carries ( 1 run was 75 yrds). #5 had 150 + rushing too.

Cade had 396 and 4tds, #7, #3, #9,#21,#1 and the whole team played there tails for #2.

  12. I think DC can get enough stops to win this game. What will Boone do to slow down DC's offense?? I mean they have so many weapons, #1, 21, 2 , 7 , 10, 9, and of course 16. The O line has done a good job keeping the QB clean this year as well.

I mean do you drop 7 and send just 4, or send the house and hope he dont complete the pass.

I know they have not faced a back like #4, but they have faced a good rushing attack from Gibbs, CC, Cherokee, Tn High.

Think it will be one for the ages tho. Iam going out on a limb and say DC puts up there average. Boone will do what Tn. High did and milk the clock, so that might be tough.

DC has already done things they have never done, win 8 straight, a top 5 ranking, home playoff berth.

  13. Regardless of what happens the rest of the season, i will have to say Coach Chandley and his staff have done an Amazing job. Yeah i know they have talent. But you still got to put kids in the right spot and get them to buy in to what your doing. The Campbell Co and #### Co games were tied at the half, and whatever they did at halftime really worked. Campbell Co scored 7, #### Co 0.

I love the enthusiasm this staff has injected into this team and Community. After what these kids  went thru last year and now to be playing at this level is a testament to the kids toughness.

Tn. High will be a great game i think. They look bigger and have more depth than DC. So lets tee it up Friday nite and see what happens. Good luck to both teams. GO PIONEERS

Tennessee High and Boone will give Crockett a good game, the other two will be over by halftime.   But I see Crockett as unstoppable this year.   I really hope they go 9-1 but just don't see it happening.  If all goes as planned the Musket Bowl will feature Crockett (8-0) vs Boone

All of Cherokee's defeats have been close, so Crockett needs not to take them lightly. But i do agree if Crockett plays up to there ability, they should win

Here is how I see R1/R2 ending up:

    R1:
    Crockett
    Boone
    Tennessee High
    Cocke County

    R2:
    South Doyle
    Knox Central
    Gibbs
    Knox Halls

BTW, Crockett ends up with an unthinkable 10-0 record.  Some of you R2'ers do not really know how much drama the entire Crockett community had to endure last year, so for them to put together such a season is just....   Well all I can say is a hearty congratulations to the Pioneers.  I think Crockett has a chance to win a playoff game, so perhaps R1 goes 1-3 this time against R2.

BTW: Crockett plays (Tn high, Mo East) on the road. (Boone, Cherokee) at home.

To go 4-0 would be Real hard to say the least. Boone beat SH, Tn. High put up some pts on Betsy and played the tough , and Cherokee played toe to toe with CC.

Good guess, but here is the answer.    Come playoff time it means...... (drumroll).....    NOTHING !!     R1 5A teams always seem to look good in the season but then lay an egg in November.    It is just funny that year after year it is the same thing.     Don't get me wrong, I would love to see someone cross the Knox county line and make some noise but history and tradition says it is not going to happen....

    Only time will tell
