This is silly......those Coaches had faith in their defense to make a stop. There was only 19.2 seconds. A squib kick could have been caught on the run and took to the endzone also. #28 has true 4.4/4.5 speed. You can't stand back a make excuses for just the plays that did NOT go right.

Alcoa could play the " ifs and buts" game even more. 1st qtr fumble inside their 10 yard line, a perfect pass thru the hands of the WR in the endzone, resulting in a field goal attempt.  Bad snap...cost another score. 2qtr TD call back on a touchy holding call. Another TD, where the ref called Alcoa's #8 down inches short of the endzone. TV announcers said the replay shows he clearly got IN. That's 28 points that only resulted in 3 points and people second guess coaches decision as the reason the Blaze lost. That's funny:lol:

First and far most, I am not a Blackman fan.  I don’t have a dog in the hunt.  And definitely could care less about the Alcoa football program.  And yes, from what I saw on Saturday, there is a HUGE coaching disparity between Blackman and Alcoa—not even close.  Go BA Eagles “Play anybody, anywhere, anytime.”

I missed it by 3 on both sides.  I feel pretty good about that. there were no questionable calls or bs penalties, which was GREAT.  Alcoa earned that win.  Blackman has some athletes, but they got outcoached by Brian Nix tonight.

Bingo!  Blackman is severely lacking in the coaching department.  Hate that for the kids as they are actually a really talented team.

Blackman coaches should of known better than to kick deep , not smart at all .

Yeah you’re right.  Why not swivel kick. Honestly, the Blackman coaches made a lot of dumb decisions and really lost the game.  The kids gave enough effort to win.

Congrats to DA. Good game!  FC got out athleted in the 2nd half. Great year to both teams.

FCS didn’t even belong on the field with DA.  Trick play, after trick play, after trick play, yawn...throw the ball up and pray for a flag on 3rd and long.  Even with all the cheap offensive plays and dirty defensive play, they still couldn’t win.  Looking forward to DA meeting FCS next year.  Hopefully they can find an offense that doesn’t require a fumblerooski.

This was a good game. We ran out of gas in the second half.

DA fan here— you guys not only ran out of gas, you also ran out of trick plays.  That ridiculous Hail Mary “prayer” pass just to get flags was really sad.  Not to mention the play where they hide the player on the sideline and run him downfield unnoticed. Weak and cheap.  FCS probably had one “traditional” offensive drive with a score.  You would think a program of that stature could score without needing trick plays every series.  Not to mention the dirty play on defense—particularly #66.  DA fans took note.  Let’s hope DA runs into them again next year.

To my Whitehaven fans, alumn, and whatnot:

Last night was a nightmare! I sat in the stands watching the game unfold and I thought to myself .... "Now I gotta go back and face eers!"

I know BHS has more to say but he is restraining himself.

Our Offense looked totally inept. We didn't generate a first down until mop-up time. My hat is off to the defense, because when the O continually goes three and out and you have to fend off that bunch with goal-line stance after goal-line stance. It gets TIRING. You did very well to only allow 37 points! How may times did we hold at the goal line? I forget.

To the WH O. That was embarrasing! I'm being kind. The athletes are in place. It is NOT the jimmy and Joes fault. I know about the fumble, but that didn't get our tails whipped. No offensive production at all. I know the Oakland defense is good. I give them the credit they are due. But ... no first downs with all of that talent? I know we lost #14 ... that is no excuse either. That was the eptiome of under performance. That was horrible. That was just plain ole' pathetic.

Well, at least my wife got an opportunity to see her folks.

KWC I don’t know if you remember but I told you weeks ago that Whitehaven’s Offensive scheme was horrible and would bite them down the road against REAL competition.  I think your response was not to even entertain the debate regarding the offensive scheme—as if it was a non-issue.  I saw this beat down coming no matter if it was Oakland or Maryville.  West TN football blinders all day. GL next year.

This was just not our night. Disappointed that we came out and played the worst I’ve seen us play all year but I’m still proud of how we fought all season to get to this point. Just couldn’t get anything going or catch any breaks. Congrats to Oakland, u earned it. We’ll be back...

Dude, that’s a slight understatement. LOL They weren’t even on the same level.  Folks tried to warn Haven fans.   CPA would kill Whitehaven also...who also beat Lausanne.  Middle TN football is where the talent is.

Whitehaven D1- TE to Ohio State, OL to UT, DB to Vandy, WR to Memphis, both LB’s are highly recruited and they have more

Again, true ballers show up in big games.  Recruiting is very subjective—how many times do we see 300+lbs OL that look the part but can’t open a hole yet recruited because of his size.  I didn’t see anything tonight from any Whitehaven player that says D1 talent.

Do you realize their is more D 1 recruits in this game than ever before in a Tennessee High School championship Game. D1 recruits all over the field. You don't have clue.

I see the D1 talent on Oakland.  Not so much on Whitehaven—mostly getting college potential for size and MAYBE speed.  Oakland has true D1 ballers.

Oakland for sure doesn’t throw it very much. Probably 10 or so times a game, on average. The announcers on NFHS last Friday said he has 1400 yards or so passing (can’t remember exactly how many). They said he had 18 TD passes and 3 interceptions. I don’t think he’s played the second half very often, as far as I can remember. Oakland’s game plan just doesn’t ever really include a ton of passing. The games I’ve watched, which is most of them, he’s managed their offense well and made most of the necessary throws. When we beat Riverdale, he was the MVP of the rivalry series folks who do that game. IMHO, he’s done a good job for Oakland over the past 2 seasons.

Regardless, getting on a message board and bashing a coach as successful as Coach Creasy and a teenage kid doesn’t really shine a great light on your character. Again, just my humble opinion.

Not directly bashing anyone— a mere question and observation which carried no personal malice.   An honest question, as I understand, can often strike a cord.  Nevertheless, thank you for the incite and “humble opinion” regarding my alleged dark character.  Good Luck this Friday!

  11. Can any of the Oakland fans explain how you can have such a great team and program but can’t find a QB that can throw 5 or 10 yard pass consistently?  He has to to be there for political reasons as he literally brings nothing to the table.

HATE to hear the coach bashing on here. Hear it every night at work. GHS not same since split with SC. The Short days are over. Gallatin folk need to recognize!

    GO JACKETS!

Not sure it is coach bashing when comparing my former coach (short), with the staff at Gallatin now; not even a comparison with Williams. Short often took less talented players and still won so the split with SC argument is baseless.

Not every coach is capable of getting the most out of their players.  The staff there now has had a ton of talent, including the most recent Jordan Mason years—and still couldn’t win consistently.

I think the Gallatin fans genuinely like Williams, and its not personal, he simply is not the right man for a program of that magnitude.

Glad to see TC having a bit of success.  They were a mere afterthought during my time.  Scrimmages were a waste of time.

      GO BIG G!!

The boys played good tonight say what you want to. DA running back is like an oak tree the kid is a player big and fast and hits HARD! Goodpasture is going to have their hands full better be able to put some points up. We had our chances tonight but to many stupid mistakes. Congrats to DA good game!

Ive heard nothing but great things about the RB.  Hopefully my Cougars can keep it close to the 4th quarter next week.

Im a 6A Dad so dont get on the DII board much.  Surprised to not see any DA threads and see so many DCA and Goodpasture posts.

DA looks to be loaded with talent!!  Best QB in state, one of the best if not the best RB in state, and what seems to be a much improved Defense.  I cant recall a team at this level having 3 D1 FBS recruits.  Pretty dang impressive.

After watching some video on their QB and the team in general, I look for this team to go 14-0 (or however many games they play).  Doubt anyone will come within 14 of them.

Would love to hear some other opinions from folks more familiar with this division.  Gonna try  to get and see them play when HHS has their bye week.

DA should be tested tonight against Waverly.  I have family who plays for Goodpasture and we play them next week.  Can’t wait. How did DA get so much talent?  Where are they getting their kids I wonder?
