You all are correct our player made contact before the ball was touched by Alcoa player.
it was a good game by both, I think Upperman surprised with how tough they played them.
& none of us has said any different, those boys played a great game! Hats off. We just don't like being called cheaters & that you guys were robbed. That was the issue.

I liked the billboard. The kids earned it. The o line is the one position in the field that never gets their name called and never gets the credit they deserve. Theyve not had their best games the last two weeks, but neither has several other positions. Maybe we are a little spoiled.
That maybe the case at William blount kj, but at Alcoa the o line always, & I mean always gets their props & credit, they are always in the spring talk, summer talk & fall!!! They don't need billboards to give them their props!! You've only been around this program a couple of years, stop trying to say. O line don't get their props! We're proud of our o lines at Alcoa, we let them know it & we get on them when they slack! We're a family at Alcoa so that means all these kids,ALL are our kids! We don't just single one group & say attaboy!!! & I know you liked your board, just like you tried to do those shirts last year!! Let it go man!!!

It would t surprise me at all to see some of those big linemen and skill position players with speed to burn that Cookeville has, make their way over to Upperman. Just an observation.
Sounds like you need to talk to the AD & get Alcoa Middle school on your schedule also, they went undefeated again this season,& the little League program did the same. Also put Maryville Jr. High on that schedule that will pretty much give you a measurement of where your feeder program is. Not boasting here or being smart, just stating facts.

I hope those AE players have had more than an ear full from the AE administration. No need for that crap in high school football.
totally agree!

Looking forward to a great game, injury free from both sides.

Game was 17-14 last year with nine minutes left in fourth quarter that’s when we fumbled in end zone and pretty much ended the game. I hope we can keep it that close in fourth quarter this year. We don’t have deep threat like last year but if Hayes gets past line of scrimmage he can take it to the house .
Agree, was tough game, mistakes on both sides, but the physical play of Alcoa in those last 9 min, was the difference. You have to play every tick on the clock to beat us. Was a good game last year. I hope it's another good game this year, this time of year should be great games.

BTW, after the game let me know what you think of our #7. That's Mr. Football semi-finalist Marcus Hayes. He is 20 or 30 yards shy of 2000 rushing yards this season as a sophomore.
Will do! Love to see good runners! But hopefully not this week!

Could be, but I knew Warwick's pedigree you see. Went so school at Tech when "Big Sam" (as Lonnie Warwick was called) wreaked havoc on the OVC from his middle linebacker spot. I watched him play the same spot for years for the Minnesota Vikings.
I'll let you know what I think of the next guy after I see this game,
He's no Warwick. Like I said he's hard to replace. Love his family, great people!!

My heart goes out to the kee nation. Sure wish we we're going together again this year. Hold your head up boys, you had a great run. Go tornadoes!

Did Warwick graduate? I like ourchances better if he's gone?
Yes sir, he's hard to replace, but #7 took his place, & he's mean! So not much consoling there.

I think that Alcoa has much more talent on their sideline than we do. But, you can only put 11 players out there at a time. I thought my Chargers played very competitively last year vs Alcoa. We shot ourselves in the foot with 2 fumbles and 2 interceptions. You have a hard time winning when you have 4 turnovers. I think that Covington can compete if we don't turn it over.
People were surprised how well we competed last year. Our guys surely learned a lot in that game, and our returning players do want this second chance. I don't think there will be any fear of Alcoa, but there is respect.
At one time this season, I thought we were fielding the best offensive Covington team ever. Someone else mentioned that we may have fallen off some in the playoffs because out field became a mud hole. Or, maybe the competition got better. Let's see how we do on Tech's turf field.
I agree, however, those turnovers were caused by hard hitting , & the QB running for his life, especially the last int. When our freshman put him on his back as he threw the ball, then got up ran back up field & decleated a charger that was about to make a tackle, that young man is back in full form#98. That's why there were turnovers, I watched the game over today.chargers did play well, not taking anything away from those boys, they played tough. & people keep mentioning fear, you never hear a tornado poster saying fear Alcoa. Only those who play us keep bringing this word up. Go tornadoes!

I know we have coaches who troll these threads,& people who tell them what we say, so here goes, OPEN THE OFFENCE BACK UP. STOP PLAYING THOSE 3 DOWN LINEMAN ON DEFENCE, THAT KILLED US LASTNIGHT! If we do that, this won't be a game!

Yes sir#!!!!# I've said it ever since that mag 7 billboard went up!! They have gone South from there. No time for that. If RR had of been coaching that o line we wouldn't be talking about this right now! Sorry just know he's the best o line coach AHS has ever had. Anybody want to challenge that?? Ask the 2009/2010 o line!!!!!
the 2010 group was the last of his group. The guy now just had started, but RRs coaching & discipline was still present, after that it's slowly went backward.these boys now can do it but your right 50, they need to burn the clippings sir.
