1. So it seems that Coach Culbreth scheduled this game in order to satisfy his multiple game suspension, and get him back on the sidelines in time for the Maryville game. This action (just like him refusing to sit out after he was red carded) is more evidence that Coach Culbreth thinks the rules don't apply to him. Pretty much negates all the defense and kind words that Lion101 posted about Coach Culbreth in my OPINION (and everyone is entitled to their own).

I stand by what i said, and so do all of his former players.

  2. Thanks to all for not posting any Comments on this, Coach Culbreth has been badmouthed unfairly enough!! I played for Coach Culbreth and he is above board as they get, he always taught us to be honest and fair....play hard but within the rules. For everyone out there, the facts are the Coach Culbreth ( who has never ever been red carded) took an incorrect call from a referee and asked if he could have an explanation,( there is a tape on this the bad call and his hearable "May I Please have an explanation" request You could hear what he said in a polite manner across the field, Yet he was yellow carded....then as the coach turned away another comment was made about the rules( Not from Coach) and the referee seemingly with an agenda came back and RED carded Coach Culbreth. He was given bad advice and to protect him I will not say from whom and came back the next day. He had never been carded before and was told their was an adminsitation meeting before suspension started. Coach Culbreth instead of the original advice Coach listened to other Coaches and sat out the next game. The Tssaa came back and suspended him 3 more regular season games on top of the one he missed. Coach Culbreth is a great guy and fair and if you knew him would know how honest he is. He is taking the fall for two people and being humble and not pointing fingers. THAT makes me admire him even more, you should know him, that is why his players love him and outperform when he is there. Proof is they were undefeated until he was suspended and they haven't won since he has been out!! Don't tell me a coach doesn't make a difference, I played for him , I know and so do his current players. To his great credit as a coach, noone ever wants to let him down!! He always says the buck stops with him and he is living it, even though I think it is highly unfair if everyone knew the truth. Coach Culbreth does what he does and all his teams have always responded, thus, Farragut is suffering without their coach and when he returns they will be a whole new team. The teams beating them now are playing a Farragut Team without their best player and that is the Coach Culbreth ask any of us past players. The paper did a Coach who has alwasy given his team his all a injustice in writing this article and so did the state. I know alot of people hate Farragut, but you shouldn't hate Coach Culbreth he brings the best out of his players and is a Good Coach but a GREAT MAN, a man all of us will never forget. So thanks for not reponding negative stuff on here Coach Culbreth doesn't deserve it.

  3. ucsoccer is accurate (and fair) in his assessment of West and some of their nagging inconsistencies on the field. I didn't get that he was being particularly mean-spirited, and truly, I wish that the Rebels would fix some of these problem areas; first touch, play up top, and playing for the call, etc. I certainly agree with that

Personally, I would have much rather seen Farragut come to play them as Bearden - they already know how to get inside the Admirals' heads and take the Admirals out of their game.

HOW DO YOU FIGURE? The last 3 games Farragut has won 2 and West only 1...true west won the game that counted LAST YEAR but without making excuses are you aware of what went on for the admirals that playoff week? We were not allowed excuses but West wan't in Farragut's head but plenty of other things were..Ok so Farragut lost but 1 out 3 doesn't warrant they know how to get in Farraguts head,

  4. Interesting...the Maryville coaches were told that the sidelines were moved in because of the wetness of the field in a corner.

Well, I found this whole line thing interesting , I doubt our Farragut Coaches explained anything to the other coaches so I question that all together ,as I played there for 4 years and the only Coach that ever really seemed to get anything from our Coaches was Coach Gerlach at CAK because they are all close. I can say this, I am not sure what the dimensions are but at the beginning of every year that field is lined everyyear to use as much space as possible so it might even be to big and so it was reduced, again I am not sure. Home from school, (I miss high school soccer) I watched and I am sure it was not Trevors throw ins because it was still to far out and gave farragut no advantage, so I doubt that was even a factor . Home field does get it priveleges, we have been on the bad side of that lots of times at others fields

  5. Sure.... I am sure you didn't refer me to the higher power. /biggrin.gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":D" border="0" alt="biggrin.gif" />

Not knowing what you meant, I will assume you meant this for the good. Big G is an honest guy who does serve a higher Power and is grateful to do so.

  6. Big G, Tnfutbolfan,Dins8,Ihavenofriends

MY BAD.................Coach Wallie is just a nice guy and a good coach and I was over protectiveof him just as I am sure Pinball Wizard would be, he did alot for alot of us over the years .

    All is for fun,

  7. Keep in mind, Maryville did have something to do with Farragut's inability to capitalize with their "...grinding and hustling". I don't completely buy the "new line-up" comment Culbreth was quoted, but that is just my opinion. Though Farragut dominated possession, Maryville did hang in there and as crazy as this game is, one or two bad breaks the other way, different results, no matter how much you controlled play. Heck, a district win is always big, no matter how disappointed fans may be regarding level of expectations. AND eyes are starting to open on Maryville's success this year (at least mine were).

I think the Quote mentioned above, if it even is a quote from Coach Wallie was a New Formation, nothing about a new lineup. I played for Coach Wallie and he is always trying things new and obviously his record shows he is more right than wrong about his approach. Your words come close to dissing on Coach as making excuses and he would be the first to tell you he doesn't make them!!!!!! , So, if you are going to think now your smart enough to say maybe Coach was lying about formations ...Then you should Keep your opnions to yourself................Big G I am calling TnFutbolfan out,for being naive, But I didn't call him what I wanted to call him

  8. With or without Tanner , he is good but no Beckham.........., Farragut owns this one. You can't use what ifs. Many teams lose their best player and they either pick it up or go where they probably would have gone anyway to the loser's bracket. Farragut is a quality team, probably better than most anticipated after losing all the seniors last year and West is off considerably from last year.

    Farragut 3-0

  9. Final was 2-1 Farragut.

    Don't have any details.

While Farragut got the win, I think it is an impressive showing for Maryville.

Big G ,,,l If you weren't there how are you saying it was an impressive showing for Maryville, because one poster says so or because the score was 2-1 ?? Looks from those who were there, Farragut dominated in everything but the final score and still won. Big G you are the wizard on here and everyone respects your opinion and I am not dogging you at all, just seems you assummed???

  10. CANCELLED !!!!!!!!

Soccer Stud......unless you are Eric Turner and who knows you might be, It is only cancelled in his Mind, not anywhere else, I just called Farragut and they talked to Coach Culbreth at 11:00 and he is waiting to confirm with Coach Turner what is going on. The school said thec oaches talked at 10:30 and no decision made then....So if it gets cancelled now, you are right but before then you were off , just like the Fact Farragut has no name players...we shall see, soon enough /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" /> /thumb[1].gif" style="vertical-align:middle" emoid=":thumb:" border="0" alt="thumb[1].gif" />

  11. They have beaten teams look at their schedule they only lost 2-1 to Morristown West. Only bad loss to Farragut. So they are not a bad side at all. While they are not club driven like the west knoxville area they still play soccer in the toughest district in the state.

Seveir County has not yet played Farragut yet, but that is a correct assumption, they will lose to Farragut, not taking anything away from SC, they just never have beaten Farragut.

  12. If you look at this season, Farragut has looked great in some games, and others just really didnt care about being there.

Bearden has shown up for every game and played their game day in day out. They are a team thats knows they have to "out work" most their opponents to win.

Stud , You obviously are a Bearden Boy, and I am a Farragut one... Re read your statement above #1 Farragut Cares about beating Bearden, so they will be there the whole game. #2 Did you measure Farragut on ties, because they soundly thrashed everyone else, SOOOO , if you are using ties, UH-OH Dawg, Bearden ties Hendersonville tooooooooo.

Oh, yes and the no-names will show up and then you will know they have a wealth of talent BY NAME>

Will they play if it rains???????????????

  13. Farragut seems to be average. They started the season and looked pretty strong, but haven't really looked like the same team lately. (Yes stinton and grieco will make impacts but who else do they have that is worth talking about?)

Bearden has really started clicking. (WE will see what they can do against catholic tonight) The midfield as a whole are very strong and fill in the attack as well as defend! With Ryan Campbell/Patrick Harmony working together they won't lose!

Bearden will hang around the whole game (Farragut will let them) and it will be 1-1 at the half. Brutal start in the 2nd half with BEARDEN BULLDOGS scoring with about 10 minutes left. This will put Farragut into a frenzy and allow BEARDEN to score one more on one last counter attack!

    3-1 BEARDEN BULLDOGS

Stud,,,,,,,Average you say.........Farragut is never average. Yes, they have not played well in a few games but are Still undefeated as is Bearden. I don't believe Coach will ever let Bearden Hang around...they might earn it , but if coach gets a chance he will close this one up. 3-1 might be the right score, but I believe you had it backwards. As Far as Midfield, Farragut has the better of the two and you will see that Friday. I wouldn't have taken such a confident route but you did and so I have and see it different 3-1 Farragut

  14. Thanks for rememebering me Big G and DH, I didn't mean for you to go into so much effort, I am sorry.

DH , You kept us in games and were a great player , I am glad to hear you are ok. I will keep my comments in Right field,,,,,think about it.

I am excited Bearden vs Farragut is Coming. Also, There is the Farragut Alumni game on for the next day

  15. what is that supposed to mean? Please explain... I think I get the gist, but I want to know what you really mean.

DH bragged alittle last year and then we ended up not making it to state. Don't get me wrong DH was great but we shouldn't have talked until we did it...Nothing to do with you I have no Freinds..........

  16. FHSadmirals, I have some wise advice for you, be wary of what you post on this site. It will come back to bite you in more ways than you could imagine. This is friendly advice, do not take this the wrong way please. I look forward to hearing your thoughts through the year

DH,,, I am back......I think you should reevaluate the above statement , I truly have not noticed any farragut players on here or bragging as such. The only Farragut posters are you and Baseballs, [I have no Friendz...........What you said when we were playing came back and bit us, but current players don't seem to be even on here...........But Trvor Grieco is a beast and carries their team.

And , yes, DH you were a great player and helped us have success

  17. QUOTE(manfromtn @ May 20 2007 - 10:45 AM) 826463405THAT IS EXACTLY THE PROBLEM IN HIGH SCHOOL SPORTS. In the big picture winning a state championship is meaningless. I won the PA state championshipship in AAAAA football. Does is mean anything today...? Will it get me a cup of coffee at McD's or anywhere else. This is the first time I have even mentioned it in more than 20 years...and then only to make a point. All of my kids have all kinds of championships in many sports. All that does is collect dust. I couldn't even tell you who won the TN State Championship in any sport last year. Only a handful in TN could tell you.....000000001%.

Nah! If that is what really matters where the emphasis is to you or to "experienced coaches" then that goes a long way in explaining why this nation and this next generation is losing it's way. What matters most is building character by teaching and practicing morals, ethics, teamwork, sacrifice, sportsmanship. That is unless you are a professional who gets paid to win. That is what is missing. Coaches need to be an example of good character by living righteously.

Nope, this assessment is way off!

Itotally disagree that few could tell you who the state Champions were and it does mean alot to us playyers.

As far as the coaches, if you mean what you say, then you should meet our coach from Farragut, Wallie Culbreth. We gave him a trophy last night that said Thanks for teaching us more than Soccer. He is a good man that uses life lessons everyday in our practices. He holds us to high moral standards and doesn't bend 1 inch on his rules. He is a coach I would follow anywhere and be proud to do it. Funny thing is not only does the whole team feel that way, so does my Dad.

  18. We had a meeting today and CoachWally asked us if we knew why he subbed so much. There were lots of answers but the one I liked most was more players get to play. If it wasn't for him doing what he does some of us may never see the field. he also said depending on the play of our player and what he's doing against the opponent that he and the other coaches decide which of our players should be in there for now.

Works for me, ,,,,he is a good coach and I think most of the team would agree, we wouldn't trade him for the best X's and O's

  19. QUOTE(pseudophobia @ May 8 2007 - 11:03 AM) 826454431I. Other than Farragut having played a tougher schedule, I see these 2 teams as fairly balanced........... I say South Doyle 2 - Farragut 1.

I ususally refrain from any comments that are not classy posts, but my comment to this prediction may be taken out of context.

    HAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAHHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!
