I would have liked to see a Sequatchie vs Whitwell game in 2019. I think it would have been a pretty good game.

It was told sequatchie has tried since 2016 to get that scheduled but whitwell is the one who doesn’t want to. Guess that 60 something points they hung on them in ‘16 upset some people in red. But those games these last two yrs would have been good ones.

    You would be correct.

OMG, we are going to hear this stuff for the next 50 years. Congrats again to Coach Saban and staff at Whitwell. They knew they had a two year window to be really good and they took advantage.

You sir would also be correct. Just wish they would realize that and quit thinking they started a dynasty

Not allowed to play... Per administration... Both staffs would have got that scheduled. SC will field a good team as usual.

York tried to schedule Whitwell and Whitwell wouldn't play them either.  They had scrimmaged the last two years in preseason

I am seeing a pattern here. Looks like whitwell coach is taking a page out of Casey Tate’s guide to scheduling games. Avoid the valley and any team that is good.

Would you be saying all this if those Whitwell kids moved to your hometown in BC?

If the kids from Bledsoe moved to whitwell and done things the correct way then I wouldn’t be saying anything in the first place. I am hearing that some kids in whitwell that aren’t getting a chance bc of the Bledsoe kids magically all getting put on same stacked whitwell little league baseball team and getting on football field bc parent is involved in the league are quitting or looking to go to other towns to get a fair chance. Would understand if was select teams but these are rec leagues. So which kids will be there in middle school and high school. if Bledsoe kids go back bc they get a coach who turns their program around and kids that have quit playing or go somewhere else then your back to same ole whitwell.

Being I live in Bledsoe and my son played in the youth Baseball league last year I witnessed this first hand as I watched some of the older returning players go to Whitwell and play. It rubbed me pretty bad at first but some of them are friends and I don't blame them to a extent BUT my big argument is IF YOU WANT TO PLAY FOR WHITWELL MOVE TO WHITWELL!!!!!  There I got that off my back and yes I have thought about taking my son there to play but IF, and that is a big IF!!! IF I do, I would move! My son had a blast playing last year and he was 5 and will be playing again this year! If you ask him now how many games he won I promise you he would have no clue!!! He enjoyed it and is eager to get started this year! I would rather him have fun and enjoy it rather than me burn him out TROPHY HUNTING and playing 30+ games as a 5 year old. I would love for him to be as advanced as some of the young players but he loves it and he will advance as he goes because he enjoys it so much. As for all them that left, it is their own decision and I will not be mad at them or hold against them and I wish them luck.

Agree with you 100%. I don’t blame a parent for moving and having their kid play for a different town. But when they don’t move and switch back and forth just to win then go they need to play select or private school. I want to see the rivalry’s and intense games in the valley again. Not a recruiting process to stack a team and decimate another team.

  6. They should just join anyways because kids bounce back and forth between schools anyways so what difference would it make. It’s not really a rivalry like it once was because of select teams in baseball and aau basketball and these kids play together so there is no hatred. Or whitwell and jasper can join as the county school and s. Pitt can just become a city school and absorb hardy. Problem solved

So is he going to whitwell instead of staying in jasper. Sounds like a band wagon to me?

Whitwell is already pulling kids from Bledsoe and other towns to win in the youth leagues so might as well start doing it in high school since all the talent has left. Easy to coach talent instead of coaching up your own kids I guess.  All I can say is jasper better get a new coach or all their talent will be gone.

Hmm most all of them I’ve talked too, understand exactly what it is, and I’ve seen many acknowledge this was their best an likely only shot.

But I’d have to say the staff and the two you coached seemed to have done a dang good job.

The two I coached. Not sure who you think I am but I have never coached and don’t want someone unfairly accused of saying something.

  9. Whitwell had two good seasons and now they think they are one of the top programs  in 1a. Most of the fans I have talked to with any football knowledge know what’s coming next yr and years to follow. Coaching staff was blessed to have a once in a generation senior class with great talent. So next few years will determine if they can coach or they were bailed out bc of the talented kids that surrounding them. That is if coach doesn’t bolt for a another job.

What??? Redone is 20 in my friend... Whitwell was in it 3 times and only scored once... So yes Whitwell could have scored more times but once again credit CV D. Same can be said on the other side... CV was in the red zone multiple times and didnt punch it in as well.  I'll say it again so you can hear me... CV shut us down offensively..

Man you don’t understand what happens after you score a td. If you scored on the drive that was stopped at the one then you would have kicked it off, right. So the second trip in red zone after the punt would have never happened. I don’t recall a third time unless it was after the int and y’all lost yards all the way back to the 50 then punted.  And your defense gave up a ton of yards and only 6 points. Bend but don’t break. It’s not pretty but effective. I would rather be called dominated statically and winners. Y’all want to have it both ways. Just be proud you can call yourself champions. Like I said before I am proud of how your kids never gave up which put them in position to win at the end.

Rofl, Clearly they weren’t dominated in every part of the game but the final score, as I’ve said numerous times, Whitwells special teams clearly outperformed Cornersville, which was ultimately the difference in the game

And yes, with a healthy QB that could step into his throws they could have scored 2 more TD’s , Whitwell became almost entirely 1 dimensional at that point and Cornersville knew it stacked the box and dared Whitwell to throw the ball to win.

Yall are outright retarded if you believe the tiger team is better when Petty is at QB, removing one of your biggest weapons from the perimeter and putting him under center in this style offense totally makes it more vanilla and predictable.

That being said, Whitwell doesnt have to think anything other then”whoa this ring is heavy.”

The qb wasn’t healthy so no You couldn’t have scored two more. And in that game him being hurt petty was a better option. Think before you reply

Luck is when hard work meets opportunity.. Stay in there CB... You will be a head Coach again one day... Dominated in every part? I think defensively we play pretty good... Good enough to win it... They shut us down offensively... And last time I checked... Final score is the only stat that matters? I for one know that SP isnt the only tough place to play. I think Whitwell should have scored at least two more times but credit CV  for stopping us on the 1 yard line. As well as stopping us when they had a 19 yard punt to the 20. Whitwell should have without a doubt scored on both of those but didn't. CV had chances to score as well but that Whitwell D you're discrediting, kept us in the game.

If you score on the drive that ended at the 1 then you would have only had one opportunity to score the whole game. the only reason you had a chance to score the one you did is bc your defense made a great stand and forced a punt which was a very bad one and you only had to go 20 yards.  So don’t act like the offense was moving up and down the field at will giving themselves scoring chances like c’ville did. Whitwells defense was bend but don’t break and made big plays at the right time

CB... Why you so salty? Whitwell won a gold  ball... Plain and simple... They made plays when it mattered.. We can play the IMO game all day... But the Fact is... Whitwell is 2018 Class 1A state champ...

I’m not salty. Just find it humorous that y’all think s Pitt and greenback are the only hard places to play and saying that c’ville didn’t play in tuff environments like Lc and Huntington. Whitwell won in regular season to prevent from going on the road to s. Pitt in quarters is why I think they were able to get past s Pitt in playoffs. Whitwell is the state champ and I’m proud for those kids bc they never quit but any whitwell fan who thinks they could have scored two or three more tds or wasn’t dominated in every part of the game but the final score is living in a fantasy world. Just be happy the luck went your way and be happy for the kids.

I don’t expect a simple minded person to actually know details about about the game of football. All I’m saying is a healthy GB team and SP both could of beat Cornersville too. Cornersville caught whitwell after facing two very physical football teams lol

I agree with whoever said 5-6 teams could have won this yr. I believe Huntington or lake county could have beaten  s Pitt or greenback based on how the championship game was played. Who’s to say whitwell could have gone to Huntington or lake county which people say are two very tuff places to play and won like c’ville. C’ville might not have been able to play from behind and make big plays like whitwell in the 4th qt against s. Pitt or greenback. Both teams earned it to be there and c’ville had opportunities and missed on them. Whitwell had one good one and made it count. Simple as that.

We was literally inside the 10 twice we could of scored and should have, and we had multiple receivers open for big plays Warner just couldn’t deliver the pass cause he couldn’t step into his throws. Simple QB mechanics

Cville was literally in the red zone the whole first half and could have and should have scored multiple times. They also overthrew a td pass. Might have been smart to take a safety after stopping whitwell on the one yard line and flip the field position and you probably would have never crossed the 50 again and final score could have been 6-2. Whitwell won, enjoy it and be happy but don’t try to say you didn’t get dominated the whole game other than one drive where y’all didn’t score which set up the next drive where you did score on a short field

Have the better team but lost lol if we was all healthy we would of scored 2-3 more times

Let’s not get carried away now. Whitwell scored when they had the opportunity on a bad punt deep inside cville territory.  They hung in there and did just enough to win. You can’t put up 24 yds on 13 plays and say you should have scored 2-3 more times. As far as injuries, whitwell looked better with 31 at qb in second half anyways. With everyone else who isn’t banged up some in the 15th game of the season. The only things I would question if I’m a c’vile fan is why not try for a field goal in first half and put whitwell down by two scores and second the refs not measuring for a first down after probably the worst play call going for it on 4 and 4 at your own 12 yard line.

Not just BC pee wee.... I'll get you a red shirt and you can come join as well...

I think I would let the coaching staff see what they can do without a once in a lifetime group of seniors who put the team on their back and refused to quit before I decided to join. I also believe it has been said on messages boards those  whitwell kids have gone to school and played together since pee wee other than I think #3.  So why pull kids from other counties now.

Can’t blame a parent for taking a child somewhere they are actually coached fundamentals, it’s not just kids from Bledsoe. Grundy, Sequatchie, Jasper and even South Pitt will come up as long as this coach is invested in the little league.

So what happens when the coach leaves and takes another job. Kids just go back and forth like it’s AAU basketball. What happens to the kids in whitwell not getting a chance to play and improve bc kids from other towns are on the field so they quit playing. then coach does leave and kids that came over leave also and your back to 1-9 seasons
