1. QUOTE(wiggins30 @ Feb 25 2007 - 10:42 PM) 826389350im not wiggins i agree im just a fan...and put it this way we will be ready for u guys and expect the unexpected....

Expect the unexpected? Everyone expects a great game and that's what they will get with these two great ball teams. I hope DB comes out on top but it's too tough to call this one...

  2. QUOTE(maroonandgrey @ Feb 23 2007 - 02:26 PM) 826386060I hope they don't run a zone! TN High ran a clinic on the zone Wednesday and it is a tough nut to crack there without the outside shots falling. I hope the Indians have shaken off the cold hands.

If they can just warm up those fingers... DB will win the whole thing. They need some more games like the DB-Science Hill game a few weeks ago. If Coty can step up like he did that game (with the help from Throp and Blackwell of course), it's DB's done deal.

  3. Yes, It doesn't matter how much of a family we are... I still think you are going to have bashers whereever and whenever due to jeaulousy. Been there done that last year. My team was done last week, yet I'll still be at regionals watching those games!! It is high school basketball with high school kids doing what they love. Go support your team and your kids, but support all these kids fullfill their "dreams" on the basketball court. I totally agree, it's fun to come on CoachT and growl back and forth but pick a line and draw it. Best of luck to the teams that have made it to Region.

  4. QUOTE(Stokomo @ Feb 21 2007 - 01:36 PM) 826382898Your quote of sports revealing character........ how can you talk about someone's mom like that? What if someone said some things about your mom? You guys just do not get it. This is a sport that should be positive in support for each other. No one has said anything about Volunteer all year and now that we have had the best year as a AAA Falcon in the school's history, people want to bash the program. I stopped posting on here for a long time, but I will not stand by and let "renegade" statements be hurled at a good program. No one from Volunteer has hurled insults at any program, and some good shots could have been taken at some of the schools. Do you know how East Tennessee looks to the rest of the state? You people put so much hatred into downing another local school that you do not realize that we are not the enemy. We will cheer for anyone who makes it to the state from this area. For our success what do we get, ridiculed and lied on. This is getting lame..... Central hates TN High, TN High hates DB, DB hates Science Hill, Science Hill hates DB, everyone hates Volunteer, the poor county school that only wants to hurt us superior people, and so forth. Guess what posters, fans, and parents........ long after you have spewed your venom across CoachT, long after your sons and daughters have graduated from their respective schools, long after the games are over, careers are forgotten, and coaches move on, there are athletes that are making friends for a lifetime. I am a DB graduate and four year player at DB under Van Huss. I still have "blood-brothers" from DB and King Colllege that I see. BUT!!! I also have friends from opposing schools that I have played against that I wouldn't trade for anything in this world. I love the game of "baskeeetball" (old DB faithful will get that one) too much to intentionally hurt any athlete playing for or against me. People are quick to point out the physical aspect of the game, but looked over one poster's comment that said he heard the game broadcast by DB Commentators and stated that it was very physical from both sides. I spoke with one of the commentators and they said the same thing immediately after the game on Monday. So for the few that want to spew their venom on here, go right ahead, but I will call out the false statements. Like the one about Coach Whitt yelling at the student section in the middle of the game. First of all, there was not many students at the game for DB. Secondly.... anyone at the game would know that our bench was near the stage. The DB section was diagonally accross the floor by the entrance way. He would have had to use a mega-phone to even get heard. I do apologize for not signing off the way I usually do on the last post. Regardless of what some of you think, there is no intent to hurt anyone. To my knowledge, the five years that I have been at Volunteer, there has not been any opponent's player injured in the games we have played. Five years with no injuried must mean that we are doing a lousy job of coaching to intentionally hurt players. The whole year, only four times has a player fouled out. We are either paying off the refs or some venom on here goes without merit. I think it is the latter of the two.

So in closing, cheer for your team, cheer for any team that makes it out of this area. Teams and coaches please represent this area well. I wish everyone good luck and GOD BLESS!!!!!!!!!

Excellent post!! Post of the year Stokomo! I in the past have been so Gulity to come on CoachT and bash bash bash my fellow Big 9 teams. But eventually you mature and see that we are all one Big 9 family and yes support your team, but also support your fellow conference brother teams. BEST OF LUCK TONIGHT DB AND TN. HIGH!!

  5. Honestly I would love to see DB win the whole thing. They have had alot of progress as a team throughout the season and I think they truely work together as a team should. I think their seniors Sensabaugh, Throp and Blackwell deserve it this season. Beating a team 3 times is tough, but I think the Tribe will come up with the hard fought win. Good luck.

  6. great game tuesday night by the tribe! very impressive win and excellent team work for the indians. i'm so impressed with coty's attitude and overall basketball talent. he is a highschool basketball and even football star, that's for sure. he's got my vote for MVP he is playing ball for clemson?

  7. QUOTE(DBTeepee @ Jan 30 2007 - 10:17 PM) 826352273

Has anyone noticed that the Indians have quietly gotten right back into contention for the Big 9 regular season title? After the first Central game no one (including myself) would have dreamed we would be 1 game away from the conference lead.

If they can get by a struggling South team on the road, it will set up a big showdown with Science Hill next week. It seems that we are peaking at the right time, unfortunately so are the Toppers.

when and where does DB play Science Hill next week?

  8. QUOTE(heatplaya @ Jan 22 2007 - 08:39 PM) 826341605

Thank God someone else agrees with me ... Duncan will be the difference...Greeneville is better coached... shhs lacks determination and coaching...no one wants it but wattad and a hand full of others.... and how is it everytime someone on here posts about omar more than 2 times... you call them omar... you have been saying that to me for weeks... now broadway... will you give it up.... i dont think wiggins or wattads has time to sit here and read what is said about them...

EVERY basketball player has time to sit and read what is said about them. TRUST ME. So one more time, is this game being played at Freedom Hall?? Or no?

  9. INTERESTING!!! Has been an interesting season so far! Any game that Science Hill, Sullivan Central, Dobyns Bennett, and Tennessee High are playing I would love to watch. End of the season is approaching and that means so is districts! Can't wait for Febuary.

  10. QUOTE(DBWATCHDOG @ Jan 23 2007 - 10:39 AM) 826342221

Is Coach T going to make you be PC and remove your Indian signature? I dont see DB changing their mascot. Any thoughts?

I can't believe they are talking about eliminating the mascot, 'INDIANS'. That is insane! I can't imagine DB not being the Indians... no more roll tribe?? Do you think they will go through with it? I hope not and I'm sure Kingsport doesn't wan't that either.

  11. QUOTE(maroonandgrey @ Jan 20 2007 - 05:22 PM) 826339187

not sure exactly the "confusion" surrounding the exchanging of the ball but the paper stated that an equipment manager wouldn't part with the ball until the D pricinpal agreed to trade with one of DB's balls! Please...sounds a little amatuerish to me like they are trading baseball cards, but I guess the budget must be tight in Blountville...I would have thought they would have been more than thankfull for the gate they pulled (3000!) and given the ball back on a platter but I guess feelings run deep. I guess the local Wal-Mart was all out of roundballs.

haha yeeeah, I don't really know what to say about that. It was kind of embarrassing. If Central was at DB and we had just won our 2000th ball game, and oh say Wes Moricle or someone like that ran out and took the ball from one of our players I'd be furious. But then again I don't want to disrespect Central, and I don't want to take up for the Indians either. At least they ended up with the ball, either that or it's on ebay!

  12. QUOTE(brock20 @ Jan 20 2007 - 12:01 AM) 826338585

That was the most people I have seen at a Central game in like 15 years. Great atmosphere tonight. I wish the Cougars could have delayed DB getting that win tonight but it didn't happen.

Did anyone see the 2 interviews with Throp on the TV tonight? Throp gave a lot of respect to the Cougars and showed a lot of class. He also made sure to ask Rock if he was OK when him and Sylvester took that spill underneath the bucket.

With Sensabaugh back this team is shaping up to be what everyone thought they would be. Are they now that much more talented or better than everyone else? No, it just seems like the other players fit into their role better now that he is there.

Yeah I agree... seeing the interview with Throp on the news tonight made me have more respect for him afterall. Tonights game was full of technicals and bad calls both ways. But a great game to watch up until the 4th quarter; it was DB's game. Congrats again DB on the big win. Hopefully we'll meet again before the season is over.

  13. QUOTE(dare_2_dream @ Jan 19 2007 - 02:05 AM) 826337297

I just moved to the area, and live 10 minutes away from Science Hill. Are they worth watching this year?

Science Hill is a great ball club, especially last year. They are struggling this year though. They are a good team, a good one man team. Omar Wattad. I'd wait til closer to districts to watch them when they want it more. That's just me.

  14. QUOTE(ArtVandalay @ Jan 15 2007 - 06:26 PM) 826332896

Science Hill looked nothing more than a 1 man team against DB, and that's what they are. The Cougars run their offense with great execution and it is hard to stop. DB, with Coty Sensabaugh in the lineup, is starting to look like everyone thought they would. Friday night might just be the game of the year in the Conference.

    Roll Tribe Roll

    Giddy Up!!

you are absolutely right! i can't wait til friday night. should be an interesting game and best of luck to both teams!

  15. Omar is overrated and Ken Cutlip stinks as a coach. Did they even score one time in the 4th quarter? Science Hill is a one man team and Omar let them down last night. DB beat them last week and last night was a huge win for Sullivan Central, but I tell ya one thing Central has got a big game ahead of them next friday with Sensabaugh back for DB. That's ok though, we've got our man Hess. It will be a good game, I think DB will be a bit more challanging this time around.

JoJo Throp and Omar Wattad are in the same boat as far as cocky/ terrible attitude goes.

Congrats Cougars on the win! Good luck the rest of the way
