Better offensively anyway, can't wait to have people wondering if we are the New York Jets. lol

I am looking forward to watching the jackets this fall! I like what I have been hearing about how the spring is going!!

Hope we can reload from all the we lost! 4 multi year starters on the O-Line! Mr. everything himself (Baines) and also Dyson has a strong senior season for us.

Good news is I heard Kobe Ford is back which will be big!!

Do you guys think if Dyer stays he will be moved into the DC role? Or would you see him staying at LB Coach? Who takes over DB’s/ WR since Blake is HC?

    HC- Blake

    OC/QB- Corthron?

    DC-Dyer?

    Line- Pierson?

    WR/DB-??

    LB/RB-??

    Here is my guess

    HC/OC/DB - Blake

    DC/LB- Dyer

    Line-Pierson

Rb or WR - Cothron  depending on offense

Not sure if Pitts is coming or not and not really sure what he would coach

Everything I have read from TC posters is he was asked to help in the playoffs.

And how many superintendents do you know that are Hall of Fame coaches?

Have you ever seen a superitendent in the press box with a headset on?

Coming to practices and putting his two cents in..

When the parents or fans are upset about how little Johnny is being played. Do they go to the head coach or Clint? When they do go to the superitendent of schools, does he send them back to the coach like he should?? I’m hearing that isn’t happening.

Imagine you were leading a large group of people and every time you made a change or implemented something new, these employees are going over your head and talking to your boss and he in return questions all your decisions.  It wouldn’t take long before I would tell my said superior that he shouldn’t have hired me and done it himself..( as long as I was following all the rules)

What it all boils down to is that he needs to separate himself as far as he can from the football team.  It is hard enough replacing a legend ( HOF’mer) but it is even harder when that legend is standing over your shoulder every time you turn around!

Again these are all the things I have heard and most of them came from TC threaders on Coach T.

He was asked to come in and help coach! I have watched many of practices over the last 10 years and never have seen him just come down there and give his two cents in unless asked to do so!

Who has come in and implemented something new and he made them change it ?

Some probably dropped out after having their names listed in the paper.

IMO it better be his son or someone else that has coached under him that would be used to King Clint’s micromanaging style..

There is no one worth anything ( without any TC ties) that would put up with some of the things I have heard he does. A coach wants to be a coach and doesn’t want anyone standing over his shoulder all the time!!

    So what does he do?

Everyone seems to talk about him being so involved. I am just wondering what he does to micromanage coaches ?

In my eyes, there does need to be a rush to make the right hire. They may have assistant coaches running the weight room right now, but the players do not have a head coach to hold the players accountable. If you have basketball or baseball players missing workouts right now, how much can an "assistant" coach actually do? Not much in my opinion.

The hire will be made this week. In all honesty it is probably already done. Just waiting to announce it

Yes the list is out. Who is the people's frontrunner? If I was a betting man I would say Blake, Ross, and Rang. Blake because it is his son. The other two because they have both been to the ship and one has won it. Good luck with next coach.

    My top 3 are

    Blake Dyer and Hackett

now I know rang and Ross are both good coaches but they move around a lot and we just had our dose of what happens when you hire like that! Nothing wrong with wanting to better yourself but I don’t think the administration wants to go that route again!

And I have no inside source or any knowledge just a guess

King, the last 2 hires have been outsiders, way outsiders. Nobody from TC had heard of either prior to being named. Sadly the community didnt support either guy the way they should have. Thats not to say that if the next HC is an outsider, then they will not support them either. I think it totally depends on the person and their track record. But my mind tells me that the administration is looking to get back to tradition and the best way to do that is to keep this hire inside the family. Will i be upset if thats not the case? Nope. I think that they will pick the right person for the job and I will support the hire regardless. But I can't speak for others. I have read the same post you have and its obvious that some TC folks don't feel the same.

Honestly though, we wont know if its a good hire until the season is in full swing and even then, we may not know for sure.

TC History Lesson: Many moons ago, a coach lead the Jackets to a 7-3 season in his first year. His 2nd year, he went 3-7. In Fact, his first 7 seasons as coach, the Jackets were 34-33-2. Thats below .500 win %. That coach ended up being the measuring stick of success in TC. He ended his HC career with a record of 222-86-4 including 1 State Title and 3 Runner-Ups, in 29 seasons. That was HOFer Jim B. Then following him, the Dr.'s first 4 season the Jackets managed a 21-19 record and failed to reach the playoffs each of those seasons. He had a decent stint as well amassing a 238-61 record with 5 Titles, in 24 seasons,  including 20 trips to the playoffs, a record that is still continuing to this day!

So all that to say, its not where you start, its where you finish. If TC faithful will support the coaches and this hire regardless of what their name is and let them do their jobs, TC has proven that the talent is there and everything will work out exactly how the good lord will have it!

Speaking the truth sir!!  Look like another day out of school in TC. Dr Satt will have a lot of time to for those interviews.  I’m with you I think they make the right hire and will have my full support as well

He's in the Region with Alcoa.  A region that no one wants to be in.  You know you aren't going to win the Region nor the State year in and year out.

He knew all that before he took the job the first time!  I’m sure he would be a good hire but just strange he would be trying to leave to come back west!

I would say there would be a very good chance of him staying for 2-3 years then moving on up to a larger classification. Trousdale County, South Pittsburg, Greenback, and others are big time to a lot of small town people, but unfortunately they are stepping stone type jobs for a lot of coaches. As you have seen recently.

I know I agree with you and you can't blame someone for wanting to move up! The seniors next year will have had 3 different HC in their career! Actually 4 if you want to count the interim the last few games of their freshman year! That is NOT good!

He won’t stay long though. He has a knack for going places that supposedly have good young talent. Trying to win titles at a few different schools to build that resume. He wouldn’t be a long term solution either.

So it would be a hire like last time?   Good resume good coach but gone in 2 to 3 years?
