Someone is not being honest with you . All it takes is a couple of parents complaining to get someone fired. As I said earlier, no HS coach should ever be dismissed during the season unless they are doing something illegal or immoral.
I don't disagree with you - its hard on the kids when a coach leaves in the middle of the season. That's why I asked if you knew what had happened. According to the newspaper, she resigned but no one seems to know the reason.
I think you are not being honest with me. You posted "that is not the case here. She did a great job for what she had to work with. Very unfair!" so if you know what happened, then please say. That's what this whole thread started with was people wanting to know what happened.

I have asked and no one seems to know anything. You posted, so I assumed you knew something.

Have heard that he is headed to Smyrna Middle to be the head boys coach, teach PE, and be the AD I think. Even if it was just to be the head coach there, the pay difference from Franklin Co. to Rutherford Co. to teach is a huge raise.
Yes it is, plus I am pretty sure it gets him closer to his family. Good step for him in my opinion

Thanks I sleep just fine =)
Newspaper said the previous coach took a coaching and athletetic director position at Smyrna Middle School. And yes, it was a very quick hire

I think positions 1-3 will be more competitive than they have in a while. Spots 4-7, I would agree with. I still think CC has the advantage. It will all depend on how well the supporting cast for Vinson comes thru. Tullahoma and CC will both be strong at guard and each have a post player with lots of upside. Those 2 games next year will be a war. As a unit, LC is strong. They have good coaching and have taken their lumps with a young lineup and this may be the year it pays off. I don't see CC dropping to 3rd. Just don't think anyone can contain Bella night after night. I do feel like the #1 seed for the tournament could be decided by a tie breaker. It will be an entertaining district race next year.
I agree with you that these games will be fun to watch next year as I think both Tullahoma and Coffee county will be very good. I wouldn't count Shelbyville out just yet, they have some talent and have a great coach - its going to be an exciting year!

SO ITS A RELATIVE THAT PLAYED FOR ME AT MOTLOW WAS THAT ONE OR TWO AND DID THEY PLAY THE
THE WHOLE YEAR AND YOUR OPINION OF ME IS BASED ON THE ONE PLAYER'S OPINION OR BASE ON
YOUR SIDELINE COACHING ABILITY OR IS THIS ANOTHER OF YOUR HALF TRUTHS. THE PLAYERS FROM
FC REALLY ELIMINATES IT DOWN TO WHO YOU ARE . BUT THE TRUTH IS I REALLY DON'T CARE WHO YOU
ARE . I HOPE YOU WILL BE GOOD TO COACH GILLIAM AND GIVE HER A CHANCE OH I DON'T SIGN MY
NAME FOR YOU I DO IT SO WHEN SOMEONE READS THIS THEY KNOW WHO SAID IT I REALLY ENJOY
GETTING ON COACHT AND SEEING WHATS GOING ON. BUT ITS ALWAYS FUNNY WHEN SOMEONE
WHATS TO COMPLAIN OR RIP SOMEONE THEY HIDE BEHIND A NAME AND MOST OF THE TIME ITS
BECAUSE THEY REALLY DON'T HAVE THE NERVE TO SAY TO THERE FACE. SO THEY HIDE BEHIND IT
PERSONALLY I WAS RAISED BETTER THEN THAT. AND I WISH THEY WERE ALIVE TO THANK THEM
BECAUSE IT MADE ME A BETTER PERSON
COACH MIKE HOLT
My dislike for your coaching has nothing to do with the new girls coach and shouldn't have even been brought into this. Reading her bio, she sounds like a great hire and I am looking forward to seeing what she can do with the girls. And I hope she gets the chance to build a program at FC.
My opinion of your coaching stems from watching you coach at Motlow and FC, over hearing you bad mouth the girls coach and cuss at those boys. Our boys team in the last couple of years has turned into, IMO, some kids who have talent but really need some leadership and discipline. I have sat through games and watched those boys act like they don't care, cuss each other, cuss the refs and just generally seem to not want to be there. I have heard you and one of the other coaches cuss those boys like dogs, so its not a surprise they talk like they do on the floor and to me that is unacceptable. I hope you prove me wrong, I hope this changes - only time will tell. I still have grandbabies, great nieces and nephews coming up and I don't want you taking your hatred of me out on them.
With all that being said, I need to apologize to everyone else for turning this discussion into something it wasn't started for. I am sorry for that and I will not post on this again. Hope everyone has a happy Easter! =)

SORRY I FORGOT TO POST MY NAME ON THE LAST ON
COACH MIKE HOLT
This is true - makes you wonder doesn't it?
Truth is, I didn't play for you nor did my children, but I have had family play for you at Motlow. I could give you a million years and you probably wouldn't know who I am, I don't usually get involoved in these kinds of discussions, I just spectate at the games when I can get to them.
I will still sleep well so no worries - have a great rest of your day =)
Oh and by the way, we all know your screen names so you don't have to post your name on every post - just trying to save you some time.

In what sport has FC won 20+ games? The beauty of coacht is, you can go back and look at the schedules. The only Franklin co teams winning 20+ games were the Huntland Hornets and Lady Hornets! Also Mike Holt is a good coach, teacher, and person stop trying to run him down because you are miserable in your own skin! The problem with FC is a bunch of NEGATIVE people like FCMom! Amber Gilliam will bring a great attitude to FC, show her love not negativity!
In basketball you can look it up - won 22 games in 2017, but I know math is difficult for you.
I am not Jan, but good guess.
Mike - I didn't even know you coached AAU lol, I wouldn't play for you nor let any of my children play for you - nice try. sleep well, I do too
Yall have a great day letting me live rent free in your heads =)

Do you think Mike Holt has time to create multiple accounts? I’m sure he spends most of his spare time reading coaching basketball and softball for dummies! I can promise you that Holt could care less about your thoughts about him! It says a lot about him as a person and coach that he chose to continue to be the softball coach instead of taking over as basketball coach. It appears that giving your word to a group of young ladies and standing by what you say is important to him. You might find this hard to believe but Coach Holt has a lot of friends and former players that think highly of him as not only a great coach but a great person that is always there for his kids when times are tough!
Good, I'm glad for him. That's the great thing about America - we all get our own opinions.
Have a great day Mike - go get some reading done =)

FCmom, why don’t you reveal your identity? Could it be that you played for Holt years ago and maybe you have a kid at FC that couldn’t play. I’d be willing to bet you make excuses for your child and like to blame the coaches for your kid not playing instead of admitting that he has a terrible attitude and work ethic. Good luck in your efforts in raising a child that will become accountable and accept the consequences for not working hard along with his terrible attitude! I have no idea where he could of picked up these attributes!
Project much? I do not have a child playing for him, nor did I play for him. My children are grown and are responsible members of society with good jobs. I don't make excuses for bad behavior, unlike you and Coach Holt. All my children did however play at FC for good coaches, but that was years ago.
BTW Mike you aint fooling nobody - keep creating different accounts to take up for yourself, its actually hilarious!! Keep holding on to all those great accomplishments of almost a district win and back to back region appearances in 30 years.

I WOULD LIKE TO WISH AMBER THE BEST OF LUCK IN HER BEING NAMED THE GIRLS COACH AT FCHS
OVER THE LAST FEW WEEKS I HAVE LEARNED SO MUCH ABOUT MYSELF THAT I DIDN'T KNOW FIRST I
DIDN'T KNOW THE BASKETBALL WAS ROUND BUT I DID KNOW TO PUT FIVE PLAYERS ON THE FLOOR
BUT FOR THOSE THAT DON'T KNOW ME. LET ME GIVE YOU A FEW THINGS THAT I DO KNOW ABOUT
MYSELF.
1) WAS AN ASSISTANT FOR A NCAA COLLEGE BASKETBALL HALL A FAME MEMBER THAT HIRED ME
2) WHILE AT MOTLOW SENT 7 PLAYERS TO FINISH THEIR CAREER AT D1 SCHOOLS STILL HOLD THE RECORD FOR MOST WINS IN A YEAR STILL HAVE PLAYERS IN TOP 10 IN SEVERAL CATEGORIES ALSO STARTED THE SOFTBALL PROGRAM
3 ) IN SECOND YEARS AT LINCOLN CO WE WERE IN DISTRICT CHAMPIONSHIP GOT BEAT BY A TEAM THAT WENT TO STATE
4)AT GRUNDY COUNTY I HAVE BEEN TOLD THAT I WAS THE LONGEST RUNNING COACH 10 OR 11 YEARS AND UNTIL THIS YEAR ONLY COACH TO GO TO BACK TO BACK REGIONS IN BOYS BASKETBALL
5) AFTER 30 YEARS OF COACHING THAT'S NOT BAD RECORD (LEFT OUT THE YEARS IN SOUTH DAKOTA)
6) YES IT WAS MY JOB IF I WANTED IT BUT I FELT IT WAS MORE IMPORTANT TO STAY WITH A TEAM
THAT HAS WORK HARD THE LAST TWO YEARS TO CHANGE THE CULTURE OF THE SOFTBALL
PROGRAM, YES LOOK AT THE WINS AND LOSES LAST YEARS SENIOR WON MORE GAMES IN ONE
YEAR THEN THEY DID IN THE PREVIOUS 3 YEARS IS IT WINNING SEASON NO BUT I AM AS PROUD
OF THEM AS I WOULD OF BEEN IF THEY 20 GAMES . THAT'S SOMETHING OTHER COACHES MIGHT
UNDERSTAND AND JUST IN CASE YOU HAVEN'T FIGURED OUT WHO THIS IS MY NAME IS COACH
MIKE HOLT I REFUSED TO HIDE BEHIND A NAME
PS I AM LOOKING FORWARD TO WORKING WITH COACH AMBER GEORGE GILLIAM!!!
Rebels won 20+ games in the 2015 season, lost several seniors and came back to a win 20+ games in the 2016 season, lost 2 seniors and came back the next year and won 20+ games then lost I believe 2 or 3 seniors. Then your crew was hired and haven't had a double digit win year yet, but nice try.

Little bit contradictory of your previous posts. You guys have a knowledgeable coaching staff for boys. You have expressed dislike for this Coach Holt gentlemen yet you say parents need to support the coach. What exactly do you want? I have been to a few of Franklin County’s boys and girls games in my travels through the area. They have the correct players playing on both JV and Varsity. They seem like a young team who just need some confidence. It will happen, unless parents who “support the coach” just bad mouth them on forums and in the stands.
Nothing contradictory at all, unless you are just here to argue with someone. My statement was I hope they get a Coach who is knowledgeable about the game and fair to the kids. I don't see either one of those in our boys coaching staff. You have been to a few games when you travel through this area - I have lived here my whole life and seen a lot of good coaches let go because parents are upset and so someone could give their good friend a coaching position. You say they have the correct players playing on both JV and Varsity, yet by your own admission, all you have seen is a couple of games when you travel through. FCDad? pfft, sounds more like you just want to argue, either a dad or you just travel through which is it?
You are probably just one of those people who come here to make trouble, so this is my last response to you. Tell your buddy Mike to work on his coaching skills for our softball team and maybe he could win some games there.

No, he hasn't been offered the job yet. Gill from Rhea Co. interviewed on Tuesday, Edmondson from Cascade interviewed yesterday, and from what I have been told, the last interview is today and it Amber George/Gilliam, the coach from Dechard Elementary.
I had heard that there were actually like 17 applicants for the job - do you know if this is true? I just pray we get someone who knows the game and is fair with the kids. Then we gotta get these parents to back up the coaches and not be all upset because their kid doesn't start or play as much as mom and dad thinks she should.

If Holly Warlick doesn’t get the gig, Holt has to be a close second. He knows basketball. He knows much more than the ball being round. I’ve been to games and he always has 5 players on the court, so there’s something else he knows. Or maybe there is a parent who played some high school and JuCo ball 20 years ago and gained a lifetime of basketball knowledge coaching from the sideline who would like to throw their name in the hat.
That would be better than Holt - 5 players and a round ball LOL yeah that should go well

No, but I heard that a coach that applied said he applied on Friday and has an interview next week. Now if they are going to name someone, as you said on Monday, then it has to be Holt who I heard said it was offered to him and he wouldn't give up softball. So unless their stance has changed on that, they wont be naming anyone Monday and probably not next week at least until all the interviews are over.
You are correct - they haven't even interviewed yet.

It doesn't usually happen in the middle of the season - I could see that if it were after the season, but I feel like there has to be more to it if it was done in the middle of the season. All I know or have seen is the newspaper article so I really just wanted to know why in the middle of the season. FC has a way of running off Coaches (good and bad IMO) and its been a rocky few years for that program.
