Figure, you GB fellers was skeerd to do that with too many home grown youngons!  Sure sounds like you fellers trying to stack the deck. After all 6 transfer starters from 6 different schools surely ain’t no accident!  Yep, you fellers is attempting to follow SM & Temple’s playbook to success.

You already know what is coming for you in the 4th round. Take it like a man, because the CHEROKEES are going to rub your nose in it.

Wait a minute. This cat isn’t a SP person. Don’t throw us in there with BigGums. Once again, SP did have by far the best in the east on paper BEFORE all of the new kids at Greenback showed up. I’m sorry, but 2-3 really good players change the landscape in 1A. I’ve seen it though the years. Not to mention you’ve got several D1 kids mixed in already. I made no bones about it the past few years. I thought this would easily be SP’s year. You know yourself you thought Greenback would be way down as well. 2-3 good kids in 1A is MAJOR. Those are game changers in small school football.

I'm not scared to speak the truth. We should be the favorites. We have the best coaching staff in the state and we have the best players in the state. That is an ingredient that can't be matched.

You're kinda new in these parts - TGBU. I'm not sure you're vetted with the pickup truck crowd down Morganton Road.

Them our some good old boys and girls. They give us a homefield advantage and make them visitors a little uneasy.

If Greenback took out of county kids, that would be a solution. Not all can move down US 411 or Morganton Road.

If you can carry the rock, toss the pigskin, mule kick that oblong ball, pancake a defender, smash a QB, ball hawk passes in the secondary, or behead players from the middle of the defense, then come on to Greenback.

If they come, we will find them a place to stay. That has been proven.

Sounds to me like Bledsoe and a few others are just butt hurt over the success of the sports programs. I just don't see any reason for alarm over these two student athletes coming into Alcoa. The same thing is happening all over the nation at high schools. Sure, school is for education, but theres no reason you can't get a good education and play sports at the same time. But all the excitement is on the sports side. You can't attract 3,000-8,000 fans to watch a class take a test. These school boards are butt hurt because they see it as taking a back seat to the football team. The way they plan on fixing that is by destroying the sports teams. I believe there is a effort underway to take sports out of high school all together. Liberals hate anything that's fun or exciting.

If it is that big a deal in Blount County, send them to Greenback and we will welcome them with open arms.

I heard a rumor that you might be minus your #1 player. You know how rumors are it might be a load of bull, but if not that would be a huge loss for any team.

I've heard we have been talking to this kid for a few years now. I have my fingers crossed. It would be huge for us.

I’m sure it’s a really fun day. Seniors football players from Maryville and Alcoa aren’t transferring for the top quality of academics that you can only provide at Greenback. They transfer because if you have a few college level players in 1a you have a very good shot at a gold ball. You need more than a few in 6a.

Those kids we're attracting from Maryville and Alcoa are football players that grow so much more here. Not only as football players but as students.

  9. Greenback has pride and passion that is unmatched. We know we are the best and it has riled up the teams that can't beat us, which is every team that lines up against us. Orngnblk you were a good lineman and wore that jersey with pride. I know you don't like us openly talking smack, but we have earned the right to brag on our program.

That’s great! Many small town schools across the state have those very same proud traditions. These schools have little wide eyed kids that look forward to growing up and fighting for the pride of THEIR hometowns. It must stink for a kid who has worked hard and put themselves into a position for a starting position, only to have a big time recruit roll into town as a senior. Year after year after year. New Tradition? Hey, at least they have a great chance for a ring. If not, there is always “Senior Lake Day”.

We've had a few kids with hurt feelings here, but in the end winning is the cure all. All we do is win, win, win. I hate it that you are trying to take a shot at our kids and Senior Lake Day. That day is one of the best all year long and one that these kids remember for the rest of their life. Our academics are top notch and I can see why we get a lot of football players come here their senior year to play football because Greenback football and the academics get them ready for college like no other school around.

SP hasn’t had the athletes lately that Greenback has been blessed with the past several years. SP around 2007-2013.. yes they had better athletes, but not the past several years. Greenback will not mercy rule SP, but they could still easily win 1A with possibly the best Greenback team in the history of their University.

I beg to differ. This Greenback team is a different animal than you’ve seen before. We will beat South Pitt by 5 touchdowns or more. Nothing against SP, we’re just on a different level. We have a QB that started at Maryville.

  12. It's good to be here in Greenback now. We are bringing in athletes from all over the area because we have the best program around. People just thought we were going to be down, but we will be better than ever. We have a new school, the best coaching staff in the state, and a pipeline to keep football players coming in from here on out.
