What's very likely is that the gutless TSSAA will declare it a no contest, both teams are out, and Maryville gets a bye and extra week to rest, scout, and get ready for Oakland.  That way they don't have to make a tough decision, and help out one of the state darlings!  Don't be surprised with that result!!

Yep. Was just coming here to say that I fully expect the TSSAA to not allow either team to move on.

Aren't you a McMinn Central fan?  If so, you all will have pretty good girls basketball team this year, and even better next year.

Ohhhhhh the blasphemy. I am a Meigs fan who played ball at Meigs. I have heard central girls will be much improved as I have good contacts within that program (just like you with Meigs football). I will NEVER root for central tho.

Nor am I trying to discredit yours. One of my favorite things about this team is if you scheme one player we have many others that will get more yards because of it. Or we pass it. I personally enjoy the insight of others that opinions differ from my own. I try not to push my agenda.

Agree. I enjoy your posts as well.

During the season, we maintain the "run it down their throat" mentality... Not a bad thing IMO. I do kinda like it, win or lose. Sometimes a loss will propel a team, just like it did last year when we lost to HV. In the SG game, we stopped ourselves most of the time. We weren't necessarily stopped if you get what I'm saying...So you can't open the playbook and get yourself out of that.

    Gotcha

I'm one who thinks we have an all around better team than last year. We have great athletes all over the field. #1, #32, and  #8 will pose major problems for the incoming team tonight.

Yep. All mighty fine players. Wasn’t trying to discredit anyone’s opinion. I am of the opinion that the ‘18 team is Fitzgerald’s best team at Meigs, followed by last years then this team. You can’t key in on one player this year, which is an advantage for us, but having a beast (Swafford) that’s just flat better than anyone was an even bigger advantage in my opinion.

No, I'm a nobody and I'm my own voice. I have talked to several coaches at Meigs about Hampton. Naturally, I can't reveal their names. They don't overlook ANY team in the playoffs, and they're approaching playing Hampton as if they're Peabody.

As I said, just kidding. I enjoy reading your posts. Keep them coming.

I'm curious to see the MC without Swafford. That kid was a difference maker in the past years. How does this team compare?

Some Meigs people think we’re better this year than last. I am not one of those people but that’s not putting this team down. We’ve got 3 guys who can all run the ball effectively and the QB is a nice player. Meadows is the workhorse. WR #15 Huckabey is a fine player. Our linebackers are a big strength.

Past history is no indicator with current teams. I assure you that the Meigs coaches are VERY impressed with this Hampton team, especially the QB.

Are you Fitzgerald’s voice on this platform? Seem like you get a briefing each week. Lol kidding...

Play book hasn't been opened much to this point...May not be opened much tonight...Just depends

This is just a genuine question so please don’t find this arrogant (as Pujo would say). Why would not open the playbook tonight? Why did you not open the playbook against SG? It could’ve been the difference in another home playoff game..
