Fair, Just looking at the past several years all I see is wins, after wins, after wins. They truly have a great program.

Those Lausanne teams  from 3-5 years ago were so loaded.  Lausanne has only been relevant in football for about 6 -7years. When USJ/Lausanne played 5 years ago I bet 20+ players on both teams ended up playing some college ball.  We have not played Lausanne in 3 years.  Using this logic we could question why we are behind McKenzie when we beat them last year.  Just like any poll it is good for debate.

Everything played out as expected last night:

East FCS vs. MTCS determine #1; #3 will be TKA & #4 will be either Lakeway or Webb (hard to believe)

Middle: DCA vs. NC determine #1 (what a game that will be); #3 should be Grace Franklin; #4 Columbia Academy

    West:  USJ #1; #2 Jackson Christian; #3 Tipton Rosemark; #4 & #5 FACS / Trinity

It was a cool one last night - must be playoff time!

If Friendship beats MTCS.  3 teams in the East will have one loss.  Each would have beaten each other once.  Tiebreaker?

The west #1’s and 2’s appear to be stronger than the east #1 IMO. At least the games between DCA and FCS/MTCS would be a decent barometer. NCS is loaded, USJ is excellent, and JCS appears to be solid too. So, IMO the East #1 based on the above doesn’t really have an easier path since they would possibly play DCA/JCS/NCS.

No question about it, they have one of the best staffs in the state. In my opinion, they definitely have THE best coaching staff in West Tennessee without question. And that's going from the Middle School straight to the varsity. JMO

I agree they are good.  The results speak for themselves.  But not near the best. Example Lipscomb’s strength and conditioning guy came from the Houston Texans.   Look at Maryville, Baylor, Cpa and Lipscomb’s staff.
crazy.  I bet the coordinators of Cpa make more than the Trenton coach

Here it goes! Prides 2 cents! Means nothing but your getting it , I have seen these Falcons behave horribly last year multiple times and this year once ! These young men are growing as people and men daily, yes they lost to a 3 time GoldBall winning team with the best coaching staff in the state, and did it with class ! If only winning games was Quinn’s agenda then he wouldn’t be a coach ! This guy has a bigger job than winning a game , if you don’t truly understand what a high school coaches job is them just stay silent ! Quinn has Trenton respect ! He’s breaking the toxic cycles in some of these young men’s lives, that’s more important to your community than a GoldBall!!!!!!!!

Best staff in the state?? Yea they have 3 gold balls in 2-a but you really need to see some of the other staffs in the state.
    Their resumes are insane

  6. It is Tuesday and still cannot get that taste of that loss Friday out of mouth.  I over 50 and probably not as resilient as those young guys.  We need to have a good first quarter and limit those big plays on defense.  Hope the new scoreboard is working and being used correctly.

Against FW yes only JV, we didn’t loose either score was 5/2 Peabody one of our coach’s exact words we got full practice tmrw guys , we are done with fake football for this year !!

To be honest is was Fayette Academy not FW.  Trenton lost to Fayette Academy and USJ on 7/7.  No JV guys were playing USJ. 7/7 on matters about as much a scrimmage from 2 years ago.  Not much.  Best of Luck and I have no doubt you will win 1A championship.

That's a bunch of crap.  Did you even see the 7 on 7 game.  It was our jv dude.  Our varsity did not take a snap.  Last time I looked we ha 4 gold balls in the last 7 years.  No concerns man.  We are okay over here. This may be the only year USJ  Could even compete with Peabody.  Enjoy your year dude.  It's going to be special. No. Davidson county to worry about.  And if Peabody does not win the gold, recent memory says we are in a very small class of 3 peat winners.  I promise you we are okay.

Peabody's London Burkett (3) catches the ball during a 7-on-7 game against USJ on Tuesday, July 20, 2021 in Jackson, Tenn.

I have spoken to parents on the past who said their kid was recruited out of a local middle school not zoned for USJ.  RAISE that number to 500 and leave out 1st half

It is almost badge of honor for some public (especially Medina) parents to tell others they got recruited by a private school.  What would be a good thread would be how great  USJ would be if they had not lost some kids for various reasons.  Imagine us with Anthony Brown and others.

Why would I leave out the first half??? You are concerned what JV players we have? You are the one implying that we had all”these new guys”.

It was a just a scrimmage.  Relax

what I would be concerned about is how you lost to Fayette Academy in 7 on 7 and not winning a game.

Not trying to be disrespectful.  I have this thing with private schools.  One of the parents at USJ said there were faces he'd never seen.  But USJ and JCS , Trinity are the only privates I can tolerate.  I love our local teams.  That USJ. Team faced a team in Peabody whose only concern was to work on our O line.  Our coaches are only concern about fixing what is broken.  Hats off to them

I will give you $100 if you can name one player on USJ team that played in the first half that has not been at USJ at least 3 years.

Not special teams. And not a coaches son who this is his second year

There are players on usj’s team from surrounding counties and kids transfer in every year. If this wasn’t the case there wouldn’t be a d2.  There hasn’t been a kid to transfer to Trenton in years.

I do not think you understand why a private school is D1 or D2.

Not right now.  I've seen teams beat teams later in the season who they lost to by multiple tds earlier.  With that said, USJ GOT THE CRAP BEAT OUT OF THEM by Peabody in a scrimmage 2 years ago and still made it to the Championship.  My prediction, USJ WILL WIN state, Peabody will too.  But it won't be easy. Private schools always have the upper hand in most years.  Good luck. The only disadvantage privates have is they are now playing on the same playing field.  We put 56 points on USJ b team 2 years ago.  Wow, what an improvement over 2 years.  Lol

If I told you how many players we had out two years ago or how the format was different this year  it would not matter.  It was a scrimmage.

Trenton is an excellent 1A/2A team.

A couple of corrections regarding the scrimmage.  That is our starting quarterback and Trenton had two first downs (one by pass and one by penalty).

I think he means the number set by TSSAA for the cut off. That number was chosen when Lipscomb had Coach Roller on the board and he was trying to protect Lipscomb from that upper bunch. The reality is that there should only be two classes and there is a very definite natural split around 400 if you look at the enrollment numbers. It would give the AAA schools 16 teams. 7 region games. They would only have to find 3 people to play them instead of the 5-6 it is currently. It would also lessen travel.

14 teams in AA. 12 teams in AAA. It is ridiculous to have 3 classes. To be honest it ought to be 5 for publics and 2 for privates. However I know it will never happen. Too many Karen schools.

It is a little silly to have 14 teams in AA and 12 teams in AAA but instead of looking at the number of teams you have to look at the enrollment numbers.  No way you can have 130 enrollment schools playing 350 enrollment schools
