Don't dismiss Christian Brothers. They beat an 8-0 Memphis Central team tonight.

What is the tiebreaker situation for all scenarios next week?

    Give me:

    JP2 for the upset

    Ryan over MUS

    CBHS over McCallie

MBA over Baylor....struggle with this one after the way both played BA.  I should take Baylor based on that, but I don’t see MBA with a 1st rd exit.

McCallie can give CBHS a run for its money, especially since Rivers could potentially be back for that one. Ought to be like the Ensworth game last night.

McCallie coasts to a 33-14 win. Sadly, McCallie may have lost it's best receiver and playmaker (Eric Rivers) to an injury.

Found it strange that Baylor used Elijah Howard at WR for most of the game instead of RB. He almost defeated McCallie last year on his own at RB.

    5_Peat. GBB.

Both teams lost tons of pieces on both sides of the ball. The game seemed to move a lot slower without Rivers and Howard playing 4 quarters.

  7. Barring unforeseen circumstances within the next 6 days, the two foes will collide once again on the gridiron, this time being played at Finley Stadium in Chattanooga. This game, just like last year's, seems to have huge playoff implications in terms of seeding. The loser of this game may be seeking to hit I-24 for the first round of the playoffs while the winner may be enjoying that round at home. Doesn't matter who you root for, this years game is looking to be as good as last year's thriller.

Looking forward to the next 6 days on this thread.....

I’ve heard Dilfer’s group making the jump....haven’t heard of any other schools.  Who are y’all hearing?

CCS is in position to move up in a year or so....just need the talent to catch up to them. Same with Webb and CPA....both are getting closer and closer to the limit and one change to it could result in them moving up too.

  9. It's been a little over 5 weeks now since McCallie brought back a Gold Ball to the Ridge, but now as the offseason is in full swing, it may be time to begin thinking of the future of the highest Private School division, It may sound early right now, but it looks like next season can be another wide open race between all of these talented schools. In addition to next season, is there potential for expansion of 1 or 2 teams, or maybe as much as 4, resulting in a total of 16 teams in the highest playing level in TN.

....CHECK YOUR POINTS.....so let Booger no if there is a point addin mistake........and have to pologize to PurplePanther for mathmatically countin him out in the 1st round.....Booger Bad...

Booger & WilsonJr can now join those who went out in week one....OldandBusted, JRB, LouPickney, & Sparty (who is still quite as a church mouse).......we can all go ahead and cancel those reservations at the Pink Pony

....it peers that the Booger Pickin Contest Trophy has come down to only 2 survivors..

....PurplePanther who has the outrite lead & the Boot Poster D23A who is still sittin with the same amount of points as Wilsonjr, LouPicker and Boogerself........the Bluebloods get yet a 2nd week off during the playoff series prior to the Gold Ball Contest.....while everybody else in the state plays

.....have to admit that MBA and that defense has really surprised ole Booger...and could be sendin Purple to the Gulf Coast

Good season y'all. Surprised not many people here did not pick McCallie as well.

  12. It will for sure be a defensive matchup. A very good offense going against a very good defense. Lots of talent on both sides of the field. Lots of weapons on the offensive side for McCallie, but MBA has proved throughout this season that they know how to shut those key pieces down. The most points they allowed all season was 24 against Briarcrest, which was prior to starting Marcel Reed at QB. While MBA has been on a roll since that game (despite the monsoon loss to Baylor which they avenged), McCallie is still probably the more complete team top-to-bottom. Don't expect this game to be high scoring at all; both teams may not get more than 24 points Thursday night.

History isn't on their side for McCallie however. Since 1993, MBA is 22-2 against McCallie, with the Big Blue's wins both coming in the years they advanced to the State Title game (both were the score 34-21). This time it'll be against that same MBA team. Learning from last year, it seems like the key this year will be ball security, as well as who controls momentum and possession. Hopefully this game will live up to the hype.

    Prediction: Toss-up

thinkin myers needs to clarify the Bolded statement with pitiful D2-AAA crowds they bring in......its only the big boys......at least in chattanooga that is....

    Booger just sayin

I don't see a major flaw in Baylor's crowds this year; they managed to pack the visitor's stands at both Ensworth and Brentwood this year, while McCallie struggled to fill their home stands during the regular season. Baylor definitely has better fan turnouts than the school residing on the ridge.

I agree. D2 basketball is over before D1 and they play at a separate venue. Why not football? At the  very least have the D2 state championships this Weekend and the  D1 next weekend. Doubt it would effect the pitiful D2 crowds they bring in.

Then again, why would they have the championship during Thanksgiving weekend? No coach would want the stress of prepping for a title game during Thanksgiving

Been to a few Baylor MCCallie games over the years and the the turnout is crazy.....but the games that Booger has attended other than the Suk Creek rivalry....and weather was good...the turnout is worse than any other games Booger goes to see...

..The crowd for the MBA Baylor game may have been even worse....at least the MBA travlin support.....ND's travelin support may have been more than theirs and ND doesnt travel well

....thing about it....that was a semi-finals game the other night for McCallie....at home

...but you were right about the noise of the ensworth crowd.....especially after the student sectionfrom enswrth finally made it thru the traffic and into the stadium

    Booger just sayin ;)

The only excuse possible is that break started 7 hours prior and the majority of their boarders may have left before the game even started

I will admit though, had Keshawn not gone down with an ankle injury, Ensworth would've been well on their way to Cookeville. The momentum was way in the Tigers favor and the Blue could not get anything going on offense with Keshawn in the backfield.

Wet or dry, what is the difference how they play. McCallie and option not good in rain either.  MBA run game is pretty good

Looks like the Radar is veering away from Memphis by game time, meanwhile in Chattanooga the severity will not be as serious as once thought, but still looks like it'll be a slugfest at McCallie.

Absolutely zero traction on the south side of the 50. It'll only be worse than it was 4 weeks ago.

if your plannin on goin to Turners school for the contest gainst that Frist School.....u better b for pullin out some serious wet weather gear no doubt.....thinkin without a doubt that Zeus has stuck his nose into Boogers Pickins aand givin McCallie the advantage to win this thing.....

....as for the battle out west.....Zeus may have takin MUS's payback win away from them....MBA and that incredible defense and staff can now focus fully on Kendall...thinkin that MUS QB want b much threat in water

    Booger just sayin

Boog, anything can happen to Keshawn Lawrence and Ensworth; one mistake by the Blue Tornado D and Ensworth is going to tally up 20+ points, as well as a ticket to Cookeville. The rain is going to cause their D to pack the box against 5 potential threats for McCallie (although their starting RB got banged up against Christian Brothers, should be able to return). The rain mainly takes the deep passes out of the equation...unless Ensworth gets into a dire situation. Can't see how both teams aren't at least a slight bit "prepared" for the conditions, considering both of them have dealt with them all season.
