Webb is not playing football. Not sure how LC will play without him. They have a good sophomore RB Davis. Not sure they have much else.
what kind of team does Giles have this year?

We (Fayetteville) had a couple of starters out due to injury in our scrimmage. I think we will be missing a lineman. Still looked good but got some things we need to improve on.

All the seniors and 4 juniors had significant playing time/starts. 4 probable starting linemen, 2 probable starting athletes and 1 qb (who should've had way more playing time) in that group. 2 Terrible scrimmages so far with a jamboree Friday night against old rival Tullahoma. Doesn't sound promising, i guess we will see. If they go 2-8 again I'd say Cunningham is out.

I think Richland is looking for 1 more girls teams for after Christmas tournament.

I feel like there are playoff spots available if y’all have a good team. There is a lot of unknown in this region after Page and Nolensville.

Teams get better as the season goes on for sure and that was evident with Fayetteville. They deserved that championship because they were the better team that day.
Marion Co was the better team in week 1. MC did have a lightning fast RB. We did a lot of growing up and getting better between week 1 and title game. I think we were playing our best at the end.
You are right about RB getting hurt in the semis. He is a really tough guy. I think he dressed and tried to play in the title game, but he was still hurt.

We lost 20+ seniors from the 2019 team and most of the starters for 2020 saw their first varsity action ever against Marion. We were missing 7 starters against Gordy. No argument for the Huntland games.
Also, KJ is great but we are not a 1 player team. Lots of other guys made big plays for us all year including title game. We have 2 other RBs that I would consider elite and closed out the Moore Co and Lake Co playoff games for us.

Franklin Co - Can they take the next step under this coaching staff? Are they eligible to make playoffs after suspension for Shelbyville brawl?
Columbia - I would have given them the 3 spot before all the coaching turnover this month. Not sure what’s going on at Columbia.
Lincoln Co - If Webb is playing, they can contend for the 2 spot. If not, they will be fighting to make the playoffs.
Spring Hill - Adding coaches doesn’t overcome lack of talent. They almost lost to Richland last year. They will likely finish last.

I don’t know what fan base everyone on here belongs to but I would bet if we went back and looked at that thread the vast majority of posters were calling for a big SP victory. Regardless of predictions, it was a great game. I’ll never forget standing in the rain and watching 2 great teams battle. I assume SP will cake walk back to the championship game while Fayetteville will have a tough road with McKenzie, Peabody and Lake Co in the west.

Fayetteville and Peabody also have strong schedules. 8 of Fayetteville’s 10 games are against teams listed in the top 15s in Friday Night Main Event’s polls. So you are right…reg season polls might have several schools with soft schedules and easy wins. But I’ll trade reg season wins for postseason wins every day.

What’s the deal with tickets for the Peabody/Milan game? Do we just show up and buy them at the gate or get them though the school?

Thanks man. I agree we were better that day. 99% of posters thought it was going to be a mercy rule bc of what SP did to every other 1A team they played. My point was you don’t have to be better all season if are the better team that day. Good luck to y’all this year. I think we both have a really tough schedule. I’m hoping to see y’all in person against Milan.

I agree. Peabody has built what we are trying to build. I think Peabody is the favorite and I hope we play good enough to get a shot to play in the semis this year. My point was that just cause teams are steam rolling people all year, you play 1 game not up to your potential and another good team comes to play, anything is possible. It almost happened to y’all against McKenzie. It happened to SP against us in the title game.

That Mckenzie team drops down too. They definitely lost a bit but they return most of their best players too
It just takes one game in the postseason.

Peabody has been back to back to back champs in a higher classification, so there are currently 2 champs. And although they are both really good this year, McKenzie and Lake Co have a good chance to knock them out before they could meet in the semis. Just hope everyone stays healthy so we can see best vs best….whoever that may be.

You might be right. Nobody was predicting us to win it last year at this time so everybody has a chance at this point. My point was those were the scenarios most people have been predicting. I certainly think Lake Co has the talent to beat anyone in 1A based on what I saw when we played y’all in the semis last year. But until someone in 1A beats Peabody, they are the favorites.

That defensive group had several goal line stands in the postseason. They were special. Hoping we can try to replicate that this year.

QB has taken it to another level this year. Happy to see all his hard work paying off. Nice to have a legit kicking game too. Hope we can keep it rolling into district play next week. Saw a lot of Wayne Co folks at the game tonight.
