  1. I agree. I think it boils down to a lack of direction/development. Remember, the junior class is the group who was undefeated until they played Oakland down to the wire in a 5 point game in the Lions Bowl as freshmen. Alot of talent has been squandered and not developed.
  2. At least 3 seniors and 6 juniors have left. All the seniors and 4 juniors had significant playing time/starts. 4 probable starting linemen, 2 probable starting athletes and 1 qb (who should've had way more playing time) in that group. 2 Terrible scrimmages so far with a jamboree Friday night against old rival Tullahoma. Doesn't sound promising, i guess we will see. If they go 2-8 again I'd say Cunningham is out.
  3. 4+ hours including weights (which us supposed to be figured in to the 3hr total) according to tssaa
  4. I know what the TSSAA rules are but out of curiosity how common are 4+ hr practices?
  5. I've heard several talented guys have left the program mostly juniors that could have been difference makers. Also heard the AD is stepping down.
  6. From what I've seen and heard there is pleanty of talent over there. If FC can't win then it's on the coaches.
  7. So, another way to say it is you must be a stand out athlete to play there without the proper bloodline. There is ALOT more to it than athletics. Other schools offer so much more than Huntland academically and socially. FFA is the main offering there. To each his own but it's definitely a few steps down. I don't think they even offer boys soccer in fear of losing football players.
  8. Anywhere but Huntland. I've always heard if you aren't native royalty then you won't get too far there.
  9. With that said, maybe the TSSAA needs to look into the officiating crew also. I'm sick and embarrassed by the whole situation.
  10. The benches did NOT completely clear. The game had been getting ugly for a while and the REFS AND COACHES could have prevented this period! I'm sure someone will argue this but the adults lost control.
  11. A Shelbyville lineman pinned down a FC lineman well after the play was over. The refs weren't doing anything about it and the FC kid was trying to get up. Another FC player tried to knock the Shelbyville player off his teammate and quickly went downhill from there. I didn't see the FC coach that was escorted off do anything but try to keep the players on the sidelines. The refs bear alot of blame along with both coaching staffs. It was out of hand well before this happened.
  12. FC can win if they are willing to rotate and keep their players fresh. Too much talent there to be 1-4.
  13. Sounds like there are many areas for the FC staff to improve on. Game/ clock management, 12 or 10 on the field multiple times, not subbing linemen who are playing both ways..from what I've read and heard FC will have their hands full. I'd say Rockvale wins 35-14.
  14. Naked Bob? Sounds like a story within itself.
  15. I heard he is there now helping teach PE.
  16. Absolutely nothing magical or negative was meant by any of this. But we have to learn from our past or we will repeat it. I'm ready to see FC football back to where it belongs and tired of the other teams saying FC stands for "Fire Coach". We are better than that.
  17. Simple point: Be very mindful of your choice for a head coach because it is toxic to the program when the decision fails. The 2018 seniors played for 3 different HC's in their high school careers. No matter which administration did the picking then, it has a lot to do with the state of the program now and this choice should reflect that.
  18. It has been a revolving door for years and that needs to end. I'm simply asking when do the ones doing the hiring have the blame pointed at them? How many hires does that take? It needs to be seriously thought out this time and stick with it.
  19. I'm sure interviews are going on now for the head football coaching position at FC and it has been a revolving door for years. Im assuming the coaches are chosen mostly by the AD and principal and seem to be tossed aside like an old set of tires. When does it become the responsibility of the AD and principal for theses choices and they be held accountable? Is it really a coaching problem or is it the ones choosing the coaches? What do you think?
  20. I heard they will be interviewing next week so if he is serious then his name should be in the hat.
  21. Heck, throw his name out there since it's all speculation at this point anyway.
  22. I hope the powers that be will hire someone who promotes stability. Enough of this coach swapping every 2-3 yrs. Winning percentage isn't everything either. There's a coach in the county with a 20+ yr career record of 47% and a past 10 year record of 39%. It just depends on who complains and how much influence they have.
