This will affect a few NET teams. One has three VA schools on their schedule.
They will be a lot more states not playing as we get closer to start time

Nothing new here...nothing has been officially decided as of yet. In coordination with the Governor's office, the TSSAA has not made a final decision and will likely need to make it by next week if the season is going to start on time. They are waiting as late as possible to decide whether to shorten the season. The Governor can still give them an exemption to start contact too. We will all have to wait and see what happens.
It’s not going to start on time. Let’s just hope we can play some football even if it would be for a week or two.

Wow, Nashville not allowing students to attend in class school at the start of the school year. Not looking good!
-
I got a feeling with the surge in total cases they will be a spike in total deaths in the next few weeks.
-
Not looking good for college football.

Man, Knox county is a hot spot now for COVID-19. This season is done, they are no way they are going to be football. This is going to suck!
-
Tennessee Broke the Record today 2,500 positive test for Covid-19 in a single day. Not looking good

The argument is masks should be the mandated law. Highly recommended is much different than a mandate or a law! It’s nonsense to try to mandate something that we have no proof even works and, if so, which type?
I think The school board will demand mask at football games same as students wearing mask in school.

Finally some common constitutional sense! All these “mask mandates” going on are complete nonsense. Here’s to personal responsibility and common sense Well done Mayor!
They are # 1 in TN for the most cases. Well done Mayor now we know why.

I did. As well as the NFL. And high school football. The silent majority demands it. So grab your mask, your hand sanitizer, and your Biden 2020 sign and head for NYC if your scared.
Not if numbers don’t fall and football players start getting it.One player gets it who ever was around him got to quarantine for two weeks Try playing like that, that would kill a team. Let’s keep are fingers cross.

How do you know it will save lives? People are protesting. People are going to walmart. Most retail is open restaurants are open. Nfl and ncaa games are going to happen. You really think with all that high school football is going to be the saving grace? Lol. Nah....Go picket to close wal mart or the protestors coming in from all over and standing shoulder to shoulder. Those are more dangerous then football. Its never going to get under control. Just like the flu. Best thing is to build up a natural immunity to it while these kids are young.
Who said College football was going to happen???

Are we going to shut down the economy to save people during flu season? Fact is this has killed less people in Tennessee then the flu does annually. Facts show it is not as dangerous as advertised. It doesnt matter how many people test positive for it. It matters how many people are hospitalized and die from it. You can count the number on your hand how many healthy people have died from it under 40. And most of those had underlying conditions.
They are millions Of Americans with underlying conditions. So it’s very important to try to get it this under control till they can find something to help them. If losing 1 year of high school sports could save 1 life it would be worth it.

Let's shut down all schools and businesses and stay in our houses until @djohnson tells us to come out.
Lol I’m not saying that. My son would lose a year of ball but if it saves lives then I’m for it. I just know that with how everything is going numbers they cannot have a season. It’s worse now than it was back in March and April

With all the new cases the smart thing would be to not jeopardize high school kids playing sports. The die hard fans and parents is a small percentage of voters. They should suspend all High school sports in 2020. When kids that are 18 starts dying that is when everyone needs to take a step back. I guess a lot of people on here Just wants to let all the healthy kids and healthy parents pass it along to the the ones that are more likely to get sick or kill them. The Governor did a great job by extending to the end of Aug. Now he just need to do the smart thing and cancel all high school sports in 2020. It’s not worth the risk! Hopefully they will come up with something to protect people in 2021.

There is no way to stop the virus from spreading. For example, even though NC has been much stricter than Tennessee, they still have higher numbers than Tennessee. As the great children’s song “Going on a bear hunt suggest”... we can’t go over it, or under it..... we have to go through it. Fortunately, it’s not as deadly as once feared. Time to mask up when possible, wash our hands, and our distances all while moving forward with life.
I agree but I’m just saying it’s not going to be this year. So they are no way to police a huge crowd that football brings. Not everyone will wear mask if told.

We will see if that does indeed happen? It’s still a few months away though. I can tell you it will hurt them, as it does businesses, in the revenue department. Many people with say forget it and not go if that’s the case.
That’s why they won’t be a season it will be to hard to keep social distancing and police it. It will be a place just to pass along COVID-19 And make numbers go up. Might as well be safe and start planning to have a season next year.

Reclassification is not going to happen, IMO. They feel they will have their hands full trying to get this season in with possible changes and Covid things. Hard to meet face to face and have meetings. Have to do zoom meetings. Coaches have to have schedules in and rental contracts have to be in. I predict a 2 year extension. Reason is nobody wants to mess with it because of the Covid crisis and having meetings to try and get seasons played.
They should have plenty of time because this year will be canceled

I appreciate it. I will for sure send it. I will do my part to help. I have already been a victim as my girl lost her senior year at the Final Four in basketball. We won the state last year and am very thankful. And we will look at numbers day by day. I can understand Lee extending the order out a month, but two months is a head scratcher and I heard nobody is happy right now and people bigger than me and you. You think the college football world is happy that they will have players having to sit out and not play before they come to college?
It sucks a lot of kids this Spring lost there SR season in spring sports also. I understand that he wants to slow the spread. We still don’t know what the school system has in place for kids returning to school even if they do. If we don’t it don’t take a scientist to know if we don’t do something this can get way out of control. I hate it but not going to get on here and just cause it’s football raise heck about it. Where was everyone when the other sports that got canceled?

He twisted like the wind...and said nothing! He Backtracked! It was laughable. Fauci got embarrassed.
Some teachers are afraid of going back to school to teach maybe not all most of the older teachers. Do you know school is probably the number one place for germs to get passed around to take home to families.

Per today's memo from Bernard Childress:
"While the Governor’s order is in place, member schools cannot have any competition or scrimmage with other schools and cannot have close contact activities during their fundamental practice in the sports of football, 7-on-7 football, girls soccer, wrestling and basketball.
Based on the extension of the Governor's order, football and girls' soccer cannot begin their seasons as originally scheduled. We are in the process of developing regular season and postseason options to present to the TSSAA Board of Control for their consideration. The Board will ultimately make the decision as to how this will impact the postseason and if any adjustments can be made to regular season competition."

Don’t look good for any fall or winter sports

the proposal that is now being voted on is an 8 game schedule with only the top two teams out of each region going to the playoffs OR flip flop spring and fall OR hybrid plan in which basketball goes December to Feb, Fall sports Feb- April and spring sports April-June
Only option I think is 8 game season but that will not happen because I don’t see it getting any better for any sports this fall or winter
